I think it being hondo only works if he arrived there after rebels and became the supervisor or sth like that. Otherwise how did he escape without his ship. It would also explain why we never get to see the supervisor. I've read that hondo runs a shipping business after rebels, but since that doesnt appear in any show or movie i think disney might just ignore that.
Yeah Lucasfilm has a tendency to ignore their published works when it comes to the shows and movies. Things are loosely shared with each other. Makes it confusing honestly. Hondo would be a good fit to drop into this show but could just be something entirely new
