This is stunning and elegant and one of the very best needle books I have seen. It is so full of treasures and trims, laces and appliqués. I am sure it will be treasured. What a keepsake. Beautiful.
Thank you so much on showing how to work with the felt pages. I didn't know how to sew all the felt pages Your lace needlebook is so beautiful and feminine.😊 California Erma
Love your best and you’d never know your cutting wasn’t STRIGHT just enjoy d watching yours but you also make me feel like I can’t do this but I’m going to try my best and cover the rest PLEASE PRAY FOR ME GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS AND EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH
Omg this by far is the most beautiful needle book I've seen so far in you tube other books are so full you can't tell what's under Neath now your looks full, shabby chic, and you can see everything you put in it thank you so much, and alot of them just show the finished product I want to know how to make it from beginning and you did that omg love this book I will make one bless you
Ok, I'm in the process of making my needle book. So much fun, but, it's a lot of thinking and work . I'm making 5 of them, so I think it will take all year. I think your earring backs for the stick pins is brilliant. The metal ones I've seen are not attractive. I too am making those. I have made jewelry for years, so I have lots of crystals, thank goodness. I will keep going back to your video, and other ladies to get ideas. I have vintage doilies that were embroidered by my aunt and mom. The ones that have stains I'm going to cut up and make pockets. My girls will then have pieces of their grandma, and great aunts hands work.
Thank you Deb. I just heard of these recently and really love how this one turned out. I think I might make another one and just use it for stick pins.
Thanks Grace. Hoping to make more stick pins in the future. Finding all sorts of interesting things as I clean and put items away in my craft room. I just found a lot of beads that I forgot that I had purchased. Will be happy when the room is back to normal.
Paper Play with Julie K getting there. The photographer is coming today and the listing starts tomorrow. I am totally overwhelmed, lol! I will feel such relief when this is sold and I can concentrate on finding a place for the pups and I.
Hi Julie! I’m so glad that you were my partner! I LOVE my book! It’s gorgeous! Love all the detail you put inside! Thank you again for your beautiful creation and all the goodies inside! Hugs! Deanna
This is absolutely beautiful, I've just seen it on Julie's channel. It is divine - Im just a beginner so thank you for sharing how you put it together. A stunning little book that would be appreciated by any needlewoman. Mary new subbie
Thank you! I am just a beginner too when it comes to sewing. I watched quite a few videos before attempting my first one and I do have to say that it came together fairly easy.
This is stunning Julie. I have made them but mine were nothing like this. I love your use of wedding appliques and the dangle trim is so cute. Tip re cutting straight: a rotary cutter & ruler might help. Quilters use them. ☺
Thanks so much for watching and thanks for the tip. I am really new to fabrics and sewing so I have a lot of stuff on my to buy list. Initially I did try an older rotary cutter that I had but it was meant for paper so of course it didn't work. Just glad I had laces and trims to cover it up the fact I can't cut straight.
I mostly will use a seam ripper and carefully take the appliques off on the backside or underside of the wedding dress and if that doesn't work I just carefully cut around them. Any leftover material on the dress I use on other projects or make some sort of shabby chic flowers out of it so nothing goes to waste.
Hi again. Did you glue the lace background on each page after you sewed the pages to the book, or did you decorate the pages first then sew it to book. I'm making some and need advice!
I glued my background pieces of lace after I had sewn in my pages. Another option would be for you to sew them directly to the pages before you sew them into your cover. I was still pretty new to my sewing machine when I made this book so I chose to just sew in the pages first and then glue everything else in. I like using Fabri-Tac glue. I don't really think you can go wrong with whatever you decide to do. I have seen so many different ways to make these. I have even seen a few people who just do it all by gluing and then there are some ladies who sew everything in and others like me who do some sewing and some gluing. Just do whatever works best for you and your skills.
I am not 100% sure anymore what size this needle book was as I gave it away in a swap but I am thinking the cover was maybe 6 X 4 or 5 X 4 or similar if I had to guess.
Im watching this 5 years later but still wanted to comment. This is gorgeous and your creativity shows. Also, you made some beautiful stick pins.
Thank you so much for watching. I am hoping to make another needle book down the road again. It has been awhile.
Also 5 years later LOL, but I agree, this is gorgeous! Definitely one of the best I've seen and has me wanting to make another. 💖👌
Es muy bello ❤

Hi did you sew the centre or glue the pages please 🇬🇧
I sewed the center together just doing a straight stich on my sewing machine.
What size is the book
I am not 100% sure anymore what size this needle book was as I gave it away in a swap but I am thinking the cover was maybe 6 X 4 or 5 X 4 or similar if I had to guess.
I meant to say Deanna Marie, not Julie'ss channel, sorry xx
