Dude, their twitter is such a mess today. I am glad to see you going about everything happening very maturely though. With them blocking creators that don't like their games, I don't see much improvement in their future. They've blocked Pastra after his statement of people shouldn't waste money on Banban as he isn't buying them either. It also looks like Phisnom was blocked as well for giving Bendy and the Dark Revival keys and telling people to play something that the creators actually seem to care about. It probably wouldn't be so bad if they took the criticisms received to heart instead of essentially saying "there's nothing wrong with our game, you're just mad it's successful." It's not the first game that's blown up that the majority of creators I've seen call terrible. I mean, just look at Hello Neighbor. Even after all that, they shouldn't get threats like they're saying. I don't care how bad the games are or how childish the creators get defending themselves, it should never escalate that far. At that point, the best thing to do would be to ignore it if the creators aren't taking any critism. Guess we'll see if they learned anything in 2 months when Banban 3 predictably comes out.
My biggest garten of banban 2 hot take is that I actually really, really like Banbalina’s voice acting, even if it’s good unintentionally. It’s amateur, but the non-seriousness of it gives Banbalina a sense of immaturity- like she has no clue what she’s doing while teaching, she’s just PLAYING school. It feels like she’s just imitating what she thinks a school environment is like. Especially with how nervous she sounds when she apologizes for getting things wrong, and with her yelling about how she was “actually trying to be a good teacher this time!”, or whatever. She’s sweet. I hope she shows up again.
@@ZhoYoo Oh, I assure you that I’m very aware of that. I never said she was an amazing voice actor, just that her voice actor fits the character very well.
@Vaeh Tay yall be hyping everything, can't believe that in this day and age a garbage game like that one gets attention, the voice actress probably just read her lines one time in the mic and they called it a day. it's so fucking cringe hearing the dialogue "I'm going to rip you into pieces" she says it like an edgy 13 year old who's trying so hard to get you to think she's scary. this shit is an absolute garbage of a game that's only made to steal your money by being cheap and mediocre, but props to them I guess since people like you still like it
i still cannot wrap my head around the fact that i, someone who has never touched blender past the default cube, could probably make better optimized models than the ones in garten of banban
There's no way the remote should be that poorly optimized right? It should be like 4 shapes I would think: big gray rectangle, red cylinder, and then like 2 more red shapes for the antenna
Bro, I've seen people makes more optimized 3D Model with 0 modelling experience... IN 3D POVRAY for university passing grade. That program broke when someone put more than 5000 lines of code, and I'm baffled how Euphoric Brothers made a worse model than that.
@@njackson6807 If I were to hastily recreate a not-melting-potatoes version of the button (next to no Blender experience) I would use a box, a cylinder for button, and two cylinders for the antenna, and then dent the "wire" of the antenna by pulling in some vertexes. Not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of their button, let alone their _antenna_ should appear anywhere near any kind of remote in a videogame. And that spider is just a crime against software.
i could probably recreate it in like 5 minutes.but then again i forget the shortcuts for everything in blender so easily that i dont exactly know tf to do most of the time
its literally 5 boxes, how do they make it have 500000 polygons, like you need to WANT it to have that many polygons its physically impossible to do it by accident
Honestly my favourite piece of voice acting is the snail (Slow Seline). It fits so well and I love it so good like actually. Even the sort of echo effect helps it
The most stressful thing about this was watching Phisnom's stream and being worried he wouldn't be able to refund the game. When someone can speed through the game in about an hour just to refund it... you know you've got a bad game
that was literally my same concern when i played it 😭 especially at the end, with the Roblox obby with the fucked-up momentum physics, i was getting so flustered i wasn't sure if i'd be able to meet the under 2-hour quota to refund this awful experience :')
The worst part is they try so desperately to take advantage of the Steam Refund time limit. We were so close to missing the window on Phisnom’s streams. Thankfully we made it.
even then you can still convince steam support to refund even if you dont get to refund it within the 2 hour time limit (atleast i heard that its possible, dunno if it is but idk)
The fact that there’s people out there that get mad at you for beating a game and then refunding it is genuinely sad. If I didn’t enjoy my time throughout, I should still refund it.
It is so unbelievably sketchy that the sequel is put on steam immediately when the games release. Imagine if at the end of fnaf 2 (when Scott was already aware of the series' popularity), he put a big "wishlist fnaf 3 now" button at the end of the game. I think the reason why they do it is to manufacture hype. They spend so little time on the games, so the sooner they release the trailers, the less apparent it becomes that they are rushed out. It could also be that they have to keep kids invested in the series, otherwise they will forget in between entries and move on to the next trending mascot horror game
How the heck did they even manage to have so many polygons on such a simple sculpt?? I am not at all educated on 3D models, but I do sculpt out character designs at times since I find that easier than scetching the same thing over and over again for hours. I do not give a damn if the models would actually work for animation or in a game, because it is literally just ref images for me to work out basic creature anatomy and stuff, but even I know that the bigger and more detailed my sculpt becomes, the slower my tablet runs, thus I assume the polygons add up as I keep trying to make the damned thing look somewhat smooth. But these designs are just...so simple. Just one object stetched and molded a little bit into their desired shape. How the heck can it have over 1 billion polygons!?!
you know, there was a part at the baby opila bird section where i randomly stumbled into the corner and somehow died to slow seline, which made me respawn at it's hallway and let me skip the entire baby opila bird section despite this, i still wasnt able to beat it in time to refund it
snail would have been scary if it was more obviously blind and followed you based on movement/sound, but the design is slightly unnerving. (also yeah i know this comment is a joke)
I loved watching the Pyrocynical stream just for the Snail. First, the snail kills him before he even enters the snail room, because he walked against the wall next to the snail room, and the snail then teleports into him. Next, he takes a couple of times until he guesses it's a RedL-GreenL gimmick. Finally, on the second to final attempt, he gets through the door he is supposed to, and then dies _after_ the door closed behind him, with Stream Chat claiming this is "not supposed to happen".
I actually do some 3d modeling from time to time, those models can be fixed easy by using un-subdivide, the raw sculpted one could also be fixed with it, but it would be a bit more disfigured and would need work
yup, or using the decimate modifier in Blender, or straight up retopologizing (its also not that complicated as it seams, just add a plane, shrinkwrap it to the mesh, add a mirror if you need to, and just rebuild the mesh with the planes you added and make cuts where you need to)
I know nothing about 3D models at all, but I find it baffling that Banban has an absurd amount of polygons for how simplistic his design is. Nothing about that fact adds up. That aside, yes I will join your Nabnab club. Nabnab stans unite! 🕷
Okay so, when sculpting a model, it will have a stupid amount of polygons, but you're supposed to go back over the model and do a process known as retopology on it. Retopology is when the artist manually goes over the sculpt and basically creates a more optimised, lower poly version using the original sculpt as a reference. I'll admit, the idea of retopology strikes fear into my heart, and that's why I only ever use other methods of 3D modelling that already result in a lower poly model, but if a 3D artist is going to sculpt a model, it's a necessary evil. HELL, If they wanted to be lazy, Blender has a modifier that can automatically lower a poly count of a 3D model. It won't be perfect and it'll be jank, but anything would be better than having a model with more polygons than an entire level should have!!!
Garten of Banban somehow feels like they used an Advanced AI that can do everything from writing a Story to Coding, 3D Models and everything else, and gave it every Horror Game in Existence, and told it to "make a Mascot Horror Game with a Gadget as a Gimmick but it should be Child Friendly with Puzzles" and the Second time they used the same Sentence but added "with more Puzzles and somehow longer" at the end.
I speedrun this game, and I love this game because it's way more broken than the first game and its super funny. It does still suck though lmao. You can skip the entire class sequence and get flung by walking into a random piece of floor after the Nabnab chase... if that doesn't show how broken this game is idk what will
As someone who’s learned 3D modeling the number of polygons on those models started giving me Yandere Simulator flashbacks. You don’t need to subdivide that many times to make a nice, detailed, functional model.
Learning that not just the Banban developers are french canadian but also freaking Smike of all people is the most surprising thing I heard all day (because I also am french canadian and somehow never knew)
As someone who has a diploma for 3D animation and VFX, it physically HURTS seeing those models. Even we were instructed to be careful with polygon counts because Maya and ZBrush would lag and crash if we pushed it too far.
the models being too much polygons kinda reminds me of the fact huey from paper mario color splash has more polygons than the whole mario 64 map, the whole map
The whole polygon count thing reminds me of one funny thing in Final Fantasy XIV 1.0, there was a plant pot that had more polygons than the player model did.
The current state of indie horror and mascot horror right now could just be described using “in the virtual” by Linkin Park “I tried so hard and got so far but in the end it doesn’t even matter” representing how you don’t have to try hard to make a profit “I put my in trust in you” representing the kids feeling betrayed by the sheer disappointment of them and FNAF SB being bad and even let's players being disappointed “What it meant to me will eventually be a memory” represents the forgetabilty of mascot horror as they’ll just end up being a popular that happened by the time the final chapter comes out and the kiddy audience will not think about it fondly and remember it as something that happened Now I have an idea of an sfm animation where Freddy and a Crying Child which represents kid fans of Mascot Horror singing the songs
Oh, FNAF Security Breach was nothing compared to this, because at least they tried there. Admittedly, a little too hard, seeing as it was delayed several times, and it was too big a project for that small a studio, but still, they tried. They didn't try here. Also, please do not make porn of this, because this game is supposed to be about a kindergarten, not a freaking strip club.

This game is just beautiful, I think everyone needs to bird up. I personally believe that we need to give this game the game of the year award I also believe we need a opila bird cult 😂👍
I was actually really excited to see BanBan in the sequel at first because I thought there was some element of mystery to him based on the fact that he didn't appear outside of wall art in the first game, not to mention his strange "sharing" message. I actually thought the whole concept of this kindergarten and even just BanBan himself was kinda something if actual effort was put into it. But Ban's VA immediately made me so upset to the point I cared more about the snail with one line and the toad character who once again, was only seen as wall art. I wanted desperately to see an underdog story with BanBan as very tiny things about the games have some sort of spark to me but BanBan 2 is a joke and the devs don't care at all.
Fun fact: if you don't give attention to something, the less people look at (and give money to) it! Doesn't matter if its as negative as possible, attention is attention, all press is good press. That's why the suicide rates in Las Vegas casinos are lower than expected, nobody reports on it when it happens, which lowers the number of people who do it.
7:35 on the American money thing. Here in Canada, depending on how close to the border you are, it's rare but not unheard of to run into the occasional bit of American cash in circulation. Plus I get the feeling these developers didn't want to take the extra time to retexture the money to the proper currency.
12:17 you can joke that it’s a Roblox obby all you want, but that texture is literally a roblox diamond plate texture, you’ve gotta be fucking kidding me.
14:53 That remote model is especially horrendous. I can somewhat understand the high polycount for the character models (though it's still absurdly high for how basic they look), but how do you manage to make a basic one-button remote have more polygons than the entirety of Ocarina of Time? I'm a beginner at modeling, and even I could make that same model in 5 minutes with the same amount of detail but with hardly a fraction of the polygons. I get it, the developers are two brothers in high school, they're obviously still learning, but it's a wonder that they didn't see how these models would be an optimization nightmare.
for the blender newbs: *including you euthroic brothers* goto the modifiers tab on the right bar, find the modifier called decimate, then make the model have less polys. simple as that. how they never knew this and they've made games for what seems like at least a few years is baffling to me
What you should be saying is the state of Mascot horror games is really sad. The horror game genre as a whole isn't bad right now, just the Mascot horror subgenre.
This is probably one of the few times I've watched an UhYeah stream and heard him angrily CUSS OUT the creators at the end. Also..those 3d models are such a huge yikes
I got the game on my laptop! The lighting was so bad I could barely see anything. I couldn’t even get past the Nabnab chase because I couldn’t see what was in front of me in the slightest. It also lagged really hard in the beginning.
The funniest part about Developers blocking you on twitter is that in one of their videos they said that "they are happy about the memes" and other stuff, hmm...
Garten Of Banban is literally the reason why I'm studying Gaming Level 3 in September. The gaming community needs more *actually decent* and *playable* games
The developers problably thought, "more polygons equals better quality" becouse even a person such as myself who is just getting into 3d modeling so i can make my own videogames, know that videogame models shouldn't have that Many polygons
yo i work for a company that does 3d visualisation in commercials and cinema. those models and polycounts are like something from my first month at the design academie i studied at. i am impressed that those models dont break and crash as hard as they should in animtion.
You know what would have been slightly better than that snail of a drone? A toy crossbow with a plunger and rope attached. Hell, just let the player throw rocks or whatever at the buttons, since literally anything would be faster and potentially more fun that what the developers decided to use.
3d modeler here, I just checked, and it quite literally takes four clicks to lower the polygon count of your model, assuming they are using blender. From a 3d modelers perspective, the models look quite lazy, and could probably be done in a couple of hours. They should honestly put at least a couple more hours into it, and we could see much better results. Not to mention the textures, which for BanBan at least, are mostly inexistant. (edit: if the remote looks like that, they had to of made it so high poly on purpose. I honestly have no idea how they did that.)
14:15 I'm not a game developer, but you know you did something wrong with optimization of your models when your "Wireframe" mesh, showing the outlines of all the triangles (AKA polygons, tris), looks more like a tinfoil mesh or a texture that would be placed on the model to make it look like a shadow creature.
There is this one youtube channel I recall, showing how many polygons that game characters have over their game series. Mario from Super Mario 64 for example has a couple hundred, around the amount that the exterior of Peach's castle has.
The Garten of banban 2 mobile port exists. I will bet 10 duovirgintillion ban coins that in the port the phone self destructs when you approach the billion polygon spider.
The Banbalina Classroom took me so long. Especially when I was at the cool kids table where I got like every wrong answer since none of them make sense. Also, when I played the game it was clear but when I looked at my recording it was so much slower than when I played.

Retopology takes a tedious amount of time and a lot of care, and the fact they put a godamn RAW SCULPT in their game really shows their passion.
Also literally I think I could model that remote in like 10 minutes and have like a 10th of the poly count. The cylinder for the button has an ABSURD poly count, and how it's shaded to look basic as hell it clearly doesn't need it! Like, just add a little beveling or something!
Fun fact. The creators of the game “ranted” on Twitter about refunds of the game being that bad and called it scummy behavior and just went after random people who refunded. Like damn if you want to make it non refundable make it a dlc so people can’t idfk

I hope she shows up again.

i still cannot wrap my head around the fact that i, someone who has never touched blender past the default cube, could probably make better optimized models than the ones in garten of banban
And that spider is just a crime against software.
i could probably recreate it in like 5 minutes.but then again
i forget the shortcuts for everything in blender so easily that i dont exactly know tf to do most of the time

The deep lore is that the protagonist has T rex arms.
The scariest thing in Banban is the god damn poly counts and auto UV unwrapping. It actually pains me.

I’m concerned they’re going to make the third chapter even longer so that even if it’s speedran, It can’t be refunded.
Length isn't the problem. A longer game isn't necessarily better. The problem is that it's shit.
Well idk man a short fun and game is pretty good
Except this is a short and painful game
that was literally my same concern when i played it 😭
especially at the end, with the Roblox obby with the fucked-up momentum physics, i was getting so flustered i wasn't sure if i'd be able to meet the under 2-hour quota to refund this awful experience :')
@@ShenDoodles That too.
It could also be that they have to keep kids invested in the series, otherwise they will forget in between entries and move on to the next trending mascot horror game
hi benro
You aren't wrong. Also, UniqueGeese did an amazing job remaking the first game, and he did it in a week with no experience at all.
How the heck can it have over 1 billion polygons!?!
you know, there was a part at the baby opila bird section where i randomly stumbled into the corner and somehow died to slow seline, which made me respawn at it's hallway and let me skip the entire baby opila bird section
despite this, i still wasnt able to beat it in time to refund it
They really did try their best to voice act, but banban sounds like hes gonna start crying lol

snail would have been scary if it was more obviously blind and followed you based on movement/sound, but the design is slightly unnerving.
@@alansmith6310 The fact that this is exactly, *by the letter* , what people said about Opila is what clued me in-

yup, or using the decimate modifier in Blender, or straight up retopologizing (its also not that complicated as it seams, just add a plane, shrinkwrap it to the mesh, add a mirror if you need to, and just rebuild the mesh with the planes you added and make cuts where you need to)

I know nothing about 3D models at all, but I find it baffling that Banban has an absurd amount of polygons for how simplistic his design is. Nothing about that fact adds up.

I was actually thinking that if you beat the game, they wouldn’t let you leave until the timer hit 2 hours and 1 minute so you couldn’t refund

@bowldawg4394 well, even if they could, i have an alt and f4 keys that can counter that argument
The way the game cuts off at the end makes me see this chapter and Chapter 3 as more of 2A and 2B.
Just was so sudden, and on an elevator AGAIN.
As someone who's done 3D modelling of characters for a while now, seeing the topology of the models is killing me
Okay so, when sculpting a model, it will have a stupid amount of polygons, but you're supposed to go back over the model and do a process known as retopology on it.
As far as I know, no such ai exists.

I'm a beginner at modeling, and even I could make that same model in 5 minutes with the same amount of detail but with hardly a fraction of the polygons. I get it, the developers are two brothers in high school, they're obviously still learning, but it's a wonder that they didn't see how these models would be an optimization nightmare.

goto the modifiers tab on the right bar, find the modifier called decimate, then make the model have less polys. simple as that.

The fact you used jumbo Josh’s “I’m jumbo josh bruh” line from zamination in this video is so clever and I don’t know why.
