Thought there's going to be some condos near University of Toronto like 1 Bedford or U condominium. They're not new but they're still maintaining one of the highest price sqft in the town. Or do you think their build quality is not there compared to what you introduced in this video?
I'm from NY and have never been to Toronto but UA-cam's algorithm directed me toward Toronto real estate videos during the pandemic and now I know a lot about it and I knew every single one of those buildings.
Firstly, let me say; in North America nothing (no location) beats Manhattan. Toronto, is a lot like NYC just newer and with more space. True story (which made me die laughing a few years back), there was a real headline in a local newspaper which boasted that "Toronto Condo Market ALMOST as high as Brooklyn!" ... I read it, re-read it then burst out laughing; "ALMOST as high as Brooklyn, oh la la!" ha ha ha .. hope you get to visit Toronto soon, the flight is short (40 min) and makes for a perfect Thurs-Monday weekend getaway.
@@SRGots Awesome, Ontario (Toronto) "should be" mostly normal by March 24, 2022. Toronto is an awesome city and as I said, a quick flight from NYC. I live in TO but LOVE NYC, prior to the pandemic I would visit NYC 4X a year to get my "New York Fix". Can't wait to come back. You will like Toronto, a lot like New York but, with wider streets, more space/greenery and newer buildings/architecture. (For example, our Subway wasn't installed till 1947, so it appears much newer than the one in your city). If you need any tips when visiting, shoot me a note :)
Interesting that you included 55 Front Street, though the building has an exterior which was scaled to fit into the historical area, over the years it seems to have not aged well (in my personal view). I was hoping to see 33 Lombard on your list, built in 2007, I like to think it was constructed at the cusp of when Toronto condo construction turned from high quality to crap. :)
@@JaBlanche yeah, 33 Lombard has aged well since it opened in 2007 but, like all structures it does have it's oddities about it. For instance; there are many pointless interior doors which require your key pass which can turn into a huge hassle. The two stairwells have no lobby access thus, they aren't used conveniently. The parking garage elevators DO NOT reach passed the 4th floor making taking groceries up more of a hassle than it needs to be. The landscaping was also recently redone, 15k for CRAB Grass and cement! My grandpa would turn over in his grave if he knew ppl spent money on a weed that would invade his lawn! :P
interesting that none are north of Queen on your list - is that a coincidence or is there a specific reason for that? Also, do any Yorkville condos make the list? (obviously just north of Bloor)
I would disagree that Lamb builds quality buildings. Maybe that is the case with some (depending on the construction company) I think they look good overall but I owned one that had a big design flaw. But you can do much worse than a Lamb building. Charlie is nice but I do remember it having an issue with the garbage chute stinking. Not only have I heard about it, but I experienced it a few times. Hoping they fixed this. 75 Portland is a beauty. 510 King I've actually heard bad things. There's a video of a flood there. Just not well built IMO and this is the case with a lot of Streetcar's buildings at the time. VU is very good. Well built. A lot of different layouts. Some units with 10ft ceilings. Standard finishes were pretty cheapish but that's not a big deal. Overall good list. I've been in all of these buildings.
What about the 570 Bay Street Condo "Motion building"? I see the list, you haven to chosen any of the building near Eaton centre. It seems local people don't like eaton centre area much. We chose specifically for this reason that eaton it home.
Thanks for another informative video Tom. Would you be able to share your top condominium buildings for investors that purchase rental suites? Thanks in advance.
Hello, what’s your view on Malibu Condos ? 600 Fleet Street. Largely owner occupied and doesn’t allow short term rentals And any views on parking buys these days (post Covid)
I like 600 Fleet. Older building. But well-established. I did two sales in their last year. Good option and better value compared to the newer condos in the area. Re: parking - if you look at the value of the parking spot plus the additional maintenance you pay on it per month versus just renting a spot. It doesn’t always make sense. But obviously the convenience of it is nice.
15 Beverly is a good building. I like 18 Beverly across the street a bit more, but the location is great. I will make a video for next week with the best and worst areas to live in downtown Toronto. Thanks for watching!
@@TomStorey thank you, i am between that one and 75 the esplanade (because i liked st Lawrence area) but i’ve been here for 5 days only. I really appreciate you took the time to respond! 🙏🏻
Which great buildings did I miss?
Any thoughts on Harbour Plaza Residences or Noir Residences?

298 Jarvis St looks to be nice building as it has big condo suites in it lots of sun light comes in view of the park too

Can you do a video for finding a 1bedroom apartment within a budget say 2K?
Chocolate Co Lofts is a hidden gem. Also 90 Sumach.
I like those George Street condos. Great location
What do you think about 15 and 55 merchant’s wharf?
60 loft on bathurst . It’s literally owners dream because there is almost no amenities . Super well managed !
Agreed. It's a great building.

These are all great buildings but tbh I hate loft style so I would never pick those for myself.

yes, you can rent in all the buildings featured in this video.
SOLANA is a better investment after bitcoin and condos
a good list, but hard disagree on 224 king west. high rises are planned west, east AND south of it! terrible views for the majority of residents...
No view is safe in downtown Toronto lol!
