It was a cloudy day in the High Prosecutor's office. I was relaxing on my couch, sipping tea from my newly imported box from England. I have not had a break in days after my most recent investigation, and so I quietly enjoyed my time alone. That was, until Detective Gumshoe came bursting into my office unannounced, yelling at me about a new assignment. It was unusual for Gumshoe to be so enthusiastic about a case unless if it was something big, but nonetheless, I managed to settle him down. I could feel my migraine acting up again as I followed the Scruffy Detective out the door to yet another crime scene. It wasn't that I didn't enjoy my job as prosecutor. Quite the contrary actually, I take pride in my work. I just couldn't seem to shake the terror of the earthquake that disrupted my sleep the night previous; it only reminded me of that day I could never forget... My migraine ceased as I arrived to the crime scene, looking in horror as I realized how the Detective's enthusiasm and the earthquake were linked, and the product of one of the most gruesome crimes I have ever witnessed. This was, with no doubt, one of the biggest cases I would take in my career.
I died. Just take my testimony, Edgeworth just killed me with laughter. I just read the opening sentence and could imagine him trying to be all dramatic... Yup, dead. See? There's my body over there.

She didn't know it, but every robo-shogunate in all of Neo Olde Noir Yorkyo had their fingers in her father unit's credit scroll, and they all wanted to make sure their piece of the pie would get bigger. The air was thick in finely crafted monomers.

Her face hardened, insulted by my rudeness. She wasn't leaving and that much I could tell. Little did I know, this would be the case to change my life...
The time was ten minutes past midnight. The room's dark, 'cept for the computer screen of course. It's been a long few days, but I might just be making headway. Never really had much sleep because of what's plaguing my mind, and it's all because of that man who's casual yet sly smile I've seen over and over again...infuriating yet alluring. Here I am, digging up dirt on a man I never thought'd haunt me... If I wasn't a fan-writer, the urge to write about Phoenix wouldn't be bad...
A bullet glanced off one of the hanging pipes, sending a ringing in my ear as my head was touching it. "I'll kill everyone on here! They want us dead and I wont let them kill me!" The man screamed as he fired a wild shot in my general direction. I had to get him restrained. Pulling the trigger at his hiding spot I dashed across the boiler room and vaulted over his cover. His surprise was short lived as the gun came crashing into his skull. He sunk quick, dropping his firearm in the process. "Fuckin' idiot." Boy did I need a drink...
@CrazyToastie I'm not even joking I actually wrote a short story about that with a friend while listing to this song and The Fragrance of Dark Coffee and having rainy mood in the background. It was really cool, the story was mediocre but the experience was amazing. I'm glad to see that there are at least 140 people who also thought about that too when they heard this song.

I really enjoy the alternate style; Most remixes and covers are moderate- to fast-paced like the original, the change in pace is really nice.
I actually thought that it stayed fairly faithful to the original melody, excepting, of course, the solos, which are to be expected in jazz.
