Neo Olde Tokyo was dark, with grimy bars and two-bit crooks who'd steal your wallet. Terrorized by the mob led by the Evil Magistrate. Me? I was just a simple Samurai, doing what I could to keep under the radar in a place like this. But sometimes, trouble just finds you...
Life was hard in the ghetto. When the mobs come after you, you don't have much of a choice in life. All the people I've had to kill, all the dreams I've had to crush to save what is my own... I'd do it all again without a doubt. In the end, my honor is worth more to me than this cursed city... (I tried)
"Don't you mean... trouble?" "Naw, man, I mean troubled. That intense feeling of not being good enough. The constant nagging voice in the back of your head telling you you'll never live up to your own arrogance, your own foolish ideals. But I keep carrying on... for Papa."
I never thought that simply slowing down a piece would make it sound sadder. The Steel Samurai Ballad is a slowed down part of the Steel Samurai theme, and this is a slowed down version of the ballad. Wow.
It was a cloudy day in the High Prosecutor's office. I was relaxing on my couch, sipping tea from my newly imported box from England. I have not had a break in days after my most recent investigation, and so I quietly enjoyed my time alone. That was, until Detective Gumshoe came bursting into my office unannounced, yelling at me about a new assignment. It was unusual for Gumshoe to be so enthusiastic about a case unless if it was something big, but nonetheless, I managed to settle him down. I could feel my migraine acting up again as I followed the Scruffy Detective out the door to yet another crime scene. It wasn't that I didn't enjoy my job as prosecutor. Quite the contrary actually, I take pride in my work. I just couldn't seem to shake the terror of the earthquake that disrupted my sleep the night previous; it only reminded me of that day I could never forget... My migraine ceased as I arrived to the crime scene, looking in horror as I realized how the Detective's enthusiasm and the earthquake were linked, and the product of one of the most gruesome crimes I have ever witnessed. This was, with no doubt, one of the biggest cases I would take in my career.
I died. Just take my testimony, Edgeworth just killed me with laughter. I just read the opening sentence and could imagine him trying to be all dramatic... Yup, dead. See? There's my body over there.
If anyone's complaining about how different it sounds: Welcome to jazz. Jazz has no rules and it's in the most beautiful way possible. Still complaining? Come back in a few years or never at all. Jazz is something that needs to be appreciated to enjoy. It's different and that's what makes it jazz.
The Steel samurai always wins .... that's what they told me when I first took this job. Really? I'm not allowed to show my face on the set in case the kids see me and i ruin the illusion forever. The name Will Powers is no longer my own, it belongs to the show. just a credit that rolls by. And now here I sit with my busted ankle after another rehearsal with a director who speaks in text-language. I must have dozed off, better head on over to studio 1 to meet Jack and do it all again ...
I replayed this game these days so I had to come back here...this music it has more than 10 years, it was 14 years ago when it came out! Time flies by 😞
Such a beautiful arrangement of this song. It gives the piece a whole different feel, and I love it!!! I think I might learn to play this song-heck all the songs on the album- on my trumpet :)
You're out on your penthouse balcony overlooking the beautiful city lights in the mid-autumn evening. You came home from work about an hour ago and a problem you can't seem to solve with several clients has been boggling you. You light the end of a cigar and take a few puffs, hoping the tobacco can help clear your conscience. You exhale. You inhale and feel the fresh, cool air rush into your lungs. The bustling lights many stories below you remind you you're on top of the world. Beautiful.
Check out Miles Davis "I Fall In Love Too Easily". Very similar feel to this. Blue In Green by Miles Davis has very similar piano playing. The difference in those two songs vs this is it's Miles Davis trumpet instead of a sax, but trust me, you won't be disappointed. If you want to dig a little, Mingus Big Band has a song called Sweet Sucker Dance. It's not on UA-cam, but I'm sure you can find the song somewhere if you search
I seriously hope I'm not the only one who thinks of the game Last Window:Secret of Cape West whenever i hear this song? The image of Kyle Hyde staring at nightime LA just pops up in my head. It's a really good game, look it up.
It was especially smooth reading that comment with the music playing. The jazzy feel didn't go over my head ;) Thanks for making my morning. Hope you made that piece of trouble your own.
It was a moonlit night on the fair city. Rain had already visited the city during sunset, just finished as the moon was up...and there he was, a young man with a straw hat walking the city streets when he hear the cry for help. A young woman, surrounded by goons. The young man knew he should've just stay out of trouble, having only recently arrived in the city...but goddamn it, he decided to step in and help the damsel in trouble. "Who are you?" One of the goons cried out. "Don't you know who we are? We're working for the city's Magistrate. You best walk away, boy...if you know what's good for you." The young man threw his straw hat upwards, with the moonlit sky beaming on him. "Me? I'm just a passing through swordsman...but to you, you can call me.....STEEL SAMURAI!" he bellowed, drawing his weapon
this song for some reason is one of my most favoirte jazz songs beacuse it fits the sadness and drama moments it was like ment to be sad at the same time dramatic making you look back at the your own past like you were dying in old chaicgo moive

It's 8:30 AM. Sitting here at my dining table, sipping Hennessy XO, staring out the window into this monsoon we call Washington. The house smells warm like a hazelnut americano; hold the cream. The cold marble tiles my bare feet are resting on reminds me that no matter how comfortable you are; it really sucks to spend your paycheck on an expensive drink, but have no cash for socks...
@CrazyToastie I'm not even joking I actually wrote a short story about that with a friend while listing to this song and The Fragrance of Dark Coffee and having rainy mood in the background. It was really cool, the story was mediocre but the experience was amazing. I'm glad to see that there are at least 140 people who also thought about that too when they heard this song.
It has to be raining outside and your door has to be made of frosted glass with your name on the front. A neon sign from the diner across the street flickers from time to time in your window, and the occasional car driving past sends a quickly receding ray of light across the inside of the room, casting a shadow of everything in front of it. Whenever you set your cigarette down, the smoke from it lazily trails up in the air, giving the room a lightly smoky atmosphere.
I was resting in the office. It was a rough day, after that last case. I turned on the coffee machine, smelling its dark fragance. I had earned enough money to rest for several months, but something told me this would be a special night. Then, she knocked on the door. Her voice was a beautiful soprano. "Hello?" she said. I swiftly adjusted my necktie, and shouted briefly, "coming!". After opening the door, I realized this could be my best case... and probably the most dangerous.

This song combines two things I absolutely love: classy music and The Steel Samurai. What more could a prosecutor ask for?

Never listened to jazz before in my life, but now I can't stop. This just gives me that classy feel of a smoky room from the 1950s. Thanks Bloogeyz.

I really enjoy the alternate style; Most remixes and covers are moderate- to fast-paced like the original, the change in pace is really nice.
I actually thought that it stayed fairly faithful to the original melody, excepting, of course, the solos, which are to be expected in jazz.
+TheFrostedfirefly I love this remix, but my favorite remix is the movie remix because I feel it is the most faithful to the original song.
+TheFrostedfirefly amen

This matches quite well with the bad ending of “Farewell, My Turnabout” IMHO.
If you crank it up to 2x speed it sounds a lot more like the regular theme
+Akared Sounds like a classical remix with a gothic theme. Slight 0.01 tint of Caribbean pirates, also a hollow echo chambery thing.
It sounds very nice sped up~ I like ballad, I'm just not really into slow things. The new melody created here is really nice!
