    🔴Afterwards, to protect the frame from damage, I applied heat shrink tubing over the U-bolts and self-adhesive foam on the frame.

      They do not have the frame mount anymore, which is a bummer.. I think this added a lot of resistance/strength during a crash.

      I think a decent clamp on the frame would be better, instead of the U-bolts before@@niw-w1f

    I'd wrap that U-Bolt with foam tape or electrical tape. There will still be enough vibration for it to wear into the frame or at least create a spot for rust.

      That's a good comment. You're right, there is indeed enough vibration to cause damage under the u-bolt. I'm going to ad something to the U-bolt like you said. If you look at the original KTM crashbars or the Outback Motortek, they use an other type of clamp, which I think is better. Thanks man !

      @@FlamesAdventureS I'm looking for a set for my '22 SAS and that caught my eye. Otherwise those bars look great.

      @@scottieray yes they looks nice on the bike. When riding there's sometimes some extra noise caused by vibrations from the motor to the crashbars, but that's the only issue I could say of it

    Hoi man. Bedankt voor jouw informatieve video's. Twee vragen: is de Heed crashbar ergens bevestigd aan kunststof onderdelen van de motor? En bij welke winkel heb jij deze crashbar gekocht?

    • @FlamesAdventureS
      @FlamesAdventureS  2 місяці тому

      heedshop.eu Er is een verbinding ergens onder het voorlicht, met 4 rubber stukken, maar niet echt rechtstreeks op plastic delen.

      Hi again. Do you think the Heed crash bar provides sufficient protection or are there weak points in the construction in the event of a fall?

    • @FlamesAdventureS
      @FlamesAdventureS  13 днів тому

      @@tuur8353 hello, I haven't discovered any weaknesses yet. I have put my bike down several times off-road (at slow speed) and the crash bars do their job. Their are also crash bars from Outback Motortek, which have some different mounting points. Outback Motortek crash bars are heavily tested before they hit the market.

      @@FlamesAdventureS Great. I have now heard enough opinions about this crash bar and am therefore convinced that they do their job well. Thank you.

    Why not placing a thin pies of rubber to protect the main frame from damage by the crash bar mountings ( U bolts).
    Nice bike anyway !

    • @FlamesAdventureS
      @FlamesAdventureS  2 роки тому

      Yes you're right, the Ubolt will probably give some damage to the paint after time. In fact they should use another type of clamp for that. Like you mentioned, I'm gonna ad some protection between it. Thanks for your comment 👍

      Thanks. I have watched few videos, the metal engine guard shoul be the same size replacing the plastic one. Hopefully the crash bars can be installed

    Have you “tested” them yet? I hope not!
    They are by far the worst option out there for protection.
    100% cosmetic applications.

      why do you say that?as far as i can tell yhey are the only ones who actually have 2 mounting points that are bolted through, most use just one bolt and a clamp. To me it looks the moste secure because the clamp cant slide on the frame

    Crash bar conected with fairing?!? No place for additional lighting, stupid solution.

    • @FlamesAdventureS
      @FlamesAdventureS  Рік тому

      You have a point there, I didn't really like it myself, but I have to say it doesn't bring much force on the fairing because the connection is a damping rubber. That's the problem with this bike, there aren't connection points to connect the upper crashbar part. Outback Motortek solves it by using an extra profile in front of the radiator. But they were still in developement at the moment I bought my Heed bars. For the lights it probably can be solved with an extra bracket

      I tried the outback ones. Fitment was absolutely terrible. I sent the cage and pannier racks back. Just put the Heed set on. Much better fit and finish. They seem plenty strong to me.
