Hey Brad! I relate to the family conversation so much. I spent my life letting my family treat me awful and have recently stood up for myself so it is a shock to them. They are telling me it is rude and selfish to tell them how i feel but they are allowed to tell me how they feel about me. I think the whole “but they’re your family so just deal with it” is so toxic because you should not have to put up with bad behavior. I agree that it is frustrating when family does not learn from mistakes, listen to others or try to be understandable. I am doing okay, especially now that I am taking care of myself but it is a process.
Good morning everyone. The family chat is so relatable. I have to visit my previously homophobic Christian family in Ireland next week but I am going to support my Dad. I am anticipating some kind of confrontation or alternatively having to hide everything about my life (boyfriend etc).
it's actually crazy how much we deal with the same stuff. i have been having extreme family problems recently that i never thought i would experience. you and i are around the same age and i just feel like we agree on every single thing. it's been super helpful to hear your thoughts and know i'm not alone, so thank you so so much from the bottom of my heart brad.
good luck with your driving lessons! I also took a little while to get to learning and getting my license due to anxiety and its just all about getting in and doing it, being careful of course, and before you know it it will become super normal. I still have moments where I hate it and wish it wasn't necessary but for the most part it is not as bad as I made it out to be, and it also kind of "opened up" possibilities in being able to go wherever I want :)

same girl! was not popular in school but when i went to gymnastics and cheerleading I was popular; hence why most of my friends are from cheer/gymnastics. But it was fine with me because i hated school with a passion, minus a few classes because the teacher wasn't an ass

me a 26 yo who passed my theorical driving test and succeeded, learned the basics and drove on parking lots, but then when i had to take actual lessons i chickened out and now i have to start all over again 😃
You have got this driving thing in the bag! 😊 I myself have to go to get my license again, it was suspended after my diabetes diagnosis, I’m nervous myself but we got this!! Also I totally noticed the little I’m still single… just saying my dms are open 😂❤
42:24 🙌🏼 Abso-fucking-lutely! This has come up in so many conversations with friends. I 100% agree some sort of vetting process needs to be in place to ensure the parents are ready and have a plan going forward. I mean we already do it for adoptions and the sort 🤷🏾♂️
