I have JJ350, and it was so great to see that you liked it too! I agree with everything that was said; very comfortable, great sounding, special guitar. I did small change though, changed knobs to the shiny steel ones. Looks amazing next to the humbucker covers! And by the way this guitar weights 2,8 kg/6 lbs. So it is very light. Thanks for the great review!
Ceramic magnets can be fine in pickups if they’re thoughtfully designed. The DiMarzio Super Distortion, the Duncan Custom (SH-5), most of the stuff from Railhammer, there’s loads of great ceramic designs. I like the offset guitar the best, keep that one around.
Just bought a new JS-400 Strat for only 139€. Incredible guitar! I have bought some Harley Bentons in the last years too but the Jet is oustanding! I had a lot of Strat guitars (some Fender AM and MM, Squier, Haar, Danelectro 84), but the Jet is an unbelievable good guitar out of the box!
139 is a steal for that. I think their price recommendation now is ~220 EUR on their website. I bought my JS-400 2 years ago new for 175 EUR. Still my most used guitar. I was most surprised how light it is, compared to e.g. a Squier strat.
@@sebastiandraxler6522 Yeah, mine is very light too! I´m thinking about to spend her better tuning machines and pickups. Its not really necessary, but i like to do something nice for this guitar. ;-)
The JJ is the one for sure! It seems to have that pizzazz that the other ones are maybe missing a little bit. I can see why Jet may want a T and S style to be a part of their line up (especially at that price point), but I feel like their soul is really in the offset models. In the coming years I can see them turning into a really cool mid-priced offset-specialist brand that offer all the crazy configurations one can think of!
Personally as a Strat guy who doesn't get the 'fake relic' thing, none of these are my thing, but keep the Jazz if that's the one you love Andy 🤘 "The guitar IS the neck" someone said. Wholeheartedly agree and a big JET fan since getting my JS-400SB. Love that JET seems to start with great necks and build outward from there to different price points.
JJ 350, rout out the upper end and put the switch where it should be in the first place. Then you need to have a new pick guard made. I do not understand why people feel that they need to continue to make the mistakes that Leo Fender made. IT IS OKAY TO PLACE THE SWITCH OUT OF THE WAY!!
Dave Simpson tried one of their strat styles out a while back and loved it. So, as strats go, I value that man's opinion as I do yours. Jet J-Styke or the Hot Tele may be the next axe! Thanks Andy!
I recently got a Squier Tele affinity and I cant believe how good it is for 200 BUCKS. Aside from doing a fret level and a bit of a setup to where I want it, it's killer! I might not even bother changing the pickups. Even the pots are decent and not hose tiny horrible ones
I recently bought a JS300 and after taking the nut off, there were 2 slot type holes in the bottom of the nut, which made me suspicious wether or not its really bone. BUT! I got the metalic gold and its beautiful! and after installing locking tuners, a hand crafted bone nut made by yours truly, new pickups and a proper set up. WOW! it's really good. The set up from the factory was decent. The frets were shiny and not sharp. Better then other more expensive guitars I've had. It had one high fret (15) that was easily leveled and re crowned. It comes with a big block and the bridge looks very familiar and works perfectly and it is floating. I was so impressed, that I bought a JS400 in black and Its beautiful too. Well done Jet Guitars!!!!!
I’ve got the JS400 in seafoam green, the JL500 in silverburst, and the JJ350. Changed the pickups in the JJ350 to alnico’s ,and a Seymour Duncan in the bridge of the JL500. Brilliant players. Those roasted maple necks are so nice
I would go for the JT-300, nothing wrong with a pink Tele, also can swap pickups (the neck sounded a bit weak), toggle switch & pots. Playability (neck & frets mainly) is key. I thought the JJ-350 was a bit too heavy on the low end, perhaps a little too dark as I listened on this end. I’m listening on my JBL bluetooth speaker, not the greatest but much better than my phone speaker. However it’s difficult to argue when you’re there to listen to the response and we’re not…! The Tele custom model was a disappointment (at least from what I could hear), the neck humbucker sounded muddy. Nice in the middle position and bridge… but then again, not better than the pink Tele style. I thought the Strat model sounded the best. I'm not a fan of relics but the pickup combination sounded fantastic. I thought the neck pickup sounded almost “telecastery bridge” and stood out well on its own. Also, the absence of a tone circuit gives me pause. Again, my choices would be the JT-300 (a bargain at that price and because of it, just perfect for modding) or the most expensive 2 pickup S-style (and I might even try to add a master tone circuit, just for the hell of it). Cheers!
I played a couple of Jets recently. They look, sound, and feel great! They do have more inexpensive Strat style guitars for less money, and they are quite impressive!
Love your videos, thank you for all the great demos, reviews and entertainment. You deserve more subs. I liked the JJ 350 also and would like to see more of it on the channel.
I just recently bought my first electric, it's a Jet JS-300 sss, my thoughts? I'm not an expert by any means on electrics, but I love how smooth the neck is, how lightweight it is in my hands when I hold it, and how clean it sounds when I play. I'm used to fret buzz from the various acoustics I have, and it's fun to really test it out with all kinds of pedals. I got it around $200 at a family owned music shop, and they said, based on the style I usually play, and knowing I need a lighter guitar, they said this one is my best bet, and it's at their most affordable price for an electric. I found this video to see what others are saying about this type of guitar. Fantastic video, very informative, and I like seeing the different price points on each and what they offer. 😊
you probably need to replace the jack plughole first, or that switch, there is always something that breaks down early with these budget guitars, or some tone issues , i play a Gretch and a Squier , both budget guitars, both had issues, but after some modifications, they are doing great now
I have the JJ-350 (Stock with exception to new strings and a good setup) and the JT-350 with 2 single coils. I put Danish Petes D51 PUs in and brass fender saddles along with 10s, and a good setup and the guitar plays and sounds amazing. I really like both of them.
Great minds Andy, great minds 🫶. I've had a JJ350 for a year and honestly cant fault it. Versatile enough for blues, rock and with the tone down on the bridge pick up into an orange amp with some fuzz and distortion, even doom. And the neck is next level. 💯✈️🖤🤘
My local store just got jet guitar's in stock, and wow what great little players, perfect for beginners, wish these were around when I was a kid starting out.
I'd keep the JT300 for the best fretwork of the bunch, no reason to overspend on the JT350. Not a Jaguar type of guy, so the JJ350. While the JS800 was the flagship of the bunch, I would go a SSS with a Tremolo for a Strat. I do have a Squier Bullet SSS HT, I like it for a fixed HT bridge. I also have a Squier Affinity SSS Tremolo bridge. I prefer both for what they priced to the JS800. As for the JT300, I went with Monoprice Retro Classic Teles for under $ 100. In hat regard, even the JT300 is a guitar I'd send back. The Monoprice TL's were on sale in 2021 for $ 76 & 82 delivered with a gig bag & tools. I have 2 Teles that cost less than the JT300. The bonus of the Monoprice TL's, string thru body 6x individual saddles like the Fender Player Series MiM. The JT350, I prefer the classic single coil neck pickup, so that's why I didn't like the Humbucker neck pickup in it. Honestly, none of these replace what I currently have. Going back to the JS800, I'd be content with the JS300, a Strat that is the SSS Tremolo configuration like the Squier Affinity that I have.
I had a JS300 & a JS400. The difference in pick ups and neck join (3 single coils and neck plate vs HSS and recessed bolts and shaped heel) for very little difference in money (both under £200) meant I kept the JS400 and passed on the JS300. Both were great guitars, but I preferred the JS400.
You can still find a good American Fender but Japanese Fenders are cheaper and come with immaculate necks. MIJ RI > Vintera II. You can find second hand MIJ Guitars on Ishibashi even cheaper.
I have one of the first JS400, swapped the 2 single coils, the trem springs loosened, easy fix, but one of the nicest playin stats I've owned, which have mainly been fenders.
I purchased my jt300 a week ago and I like it a lot so far. It's a budget guitar with high end finishes such as a bone nut, rosewood fret board and a roasted neck. I was thinking about changing the ceramic pickups but I'm on the fence because the guitar sounds really good, so I think I will follow your advice and keep them for a while. The neck of this guitar is fantastic along with the fret work!
The JS-800 is amazing. I totally forgot about them when I bought my latest guitar and I kind of wish I'd have remembered the Jet, it might be in my collection. But of course I'd like to see more of it on the channel!
#3 for me to stay. It looks totally custom with that binding and sounded great. #4 is a close second but looks like a parts caster. #’s 1&2 seem great as well but those are my picks. Great job Andy, thx!
Yes, I must agree. The JJ350 looks great, sounds pretty good, but the cutaways and the balance put it over the top. I can hear a little deadness in the strings on all of them. They'd all be excellent starters that could be upgraded with better tuners down the line. Personally I'm not a fan of the relics, but to each his own.
I myself and looking for a tele, but as another commenter said, we see so many tele and strat guitars everywhere, particularly in the budget marker. The offset is gaining in that aspect, but nowhere near close, so I'd go with that one.
Got a limited edition js 450 in purple a couple of months ago. I looks lovely but after a couple weeks noticing some crazy fret sprouting going on after it cut me a couple times, hopefully going to get the frets checked out and fixed because it plays and sounds fantastic 😊
Nice review of a range of guitars. Sounds like i might like the neck a bit better than the G&L Doheny tribute I acquired recently, but I did get it to be able to play on thinner necks. It does have the pickup selector where you'd like it and a 2 point vibrato. Cheers!
I tried these for the first time at the Bristol guitar show and was blown away. For £179 I think these are great value and would definitely be a great instrument for a beginner guitarist.
Thanks for the reviews! I watched this and just went and found a JJ for $336USD with a set up,shipped state side! Transparent green with tortoise pick guard. Looks amazing! Can’t wait to get it.
I have the JT 300 in lake placid blue 😍😍 £180. Upgraded the pups for £80 (tonerider alnico 2 blues). Bought a premium pre-wired tele wiring harness of ebay, cts pots, orange caps, treble bleed etc (£50). Set of vanson locking tuners £35. A friend of a friend wired and set it up to perfection for me for £50. £395 total. Looks killer, plays amazing, holds tune forever and sounds epic(really impressed with the tonerider pups, my first set, would highly recommend these tele pups). These guitars are unbelievable value and epic modding platforms. I prefer the jet neck to my player series tele, slightly less chunky in the hand and with the rolled fretboard it feels nicer in the hand. Buy one of these spend 2-300 on upgrades, get it set up and you have an amazing guitar. No need to buy American anymore with the fit, finish and build quality of brands like Jet and Sire for the price. Breaks my heart to say this as a Fender fan boy but..... You can get a lot more value for your money from Jet and Sire. I can't see myself buying anymore Fenders as I couldn’t justify the money when I can buy much better for much less.
Well Andy, I watched your review some time ago about the RG550, went to shop…tried and bought it. Now you peaked my interest in the JJ350. You are dangerous to my credit card 😂.
Great work as always sir 😃🙏 Love that Jet Keep the same headstock for the Strats and Tele's. 😎👌 Tele shape headstocks (as much as i like them) are annoying for hanging. Jet also doing some of the best neck heels alongside Charvel and Ibanez AZ 👍
JT300: loved the bridge pup and liked the neck although I typically don't like tele neck pups. Loved the look. JT350: Liked the bridge pup well enough, neck was mud. Not a relic guy Offset: Sounded balanced liked both, looked nice even although I dont like offsets personally. Love the binding. JS800: Relic No bueno. Love that it's a hardtail and doesn't have a middle pickup. Good God almighty did I love the tones all around. I'd keep it and paint it. What I want to see in the future is the offset, you beam with that in your hands and it sounded really good, unless you do a paint mod to the JS800.
the 800 has a suhr vibe and the perfect pickup configuration i really love it , however ! the JM ils sooooo beautiful and the binding all around the body even tho it have the arm rest is pure perfection , the only downside to me is the headstock shape , put the "suhr like" headstock in the jazzmaster one and you have a 110% perfect guitar
These really look and sound gorgeous overall! But with problems like rust on the jack, fresh out of the box, they may still have a proper packing problem. I’ll keep my 1999 Fender Strat. I just can’t tell you what I paid for it new, it was so little. You’d be upset, because it was so cheap compared to now. Everything’s so ridiculous these days, price wise, you can’t buy a new Fender without getting a mortgage or something. Plus, this one was customized with a split humbucker at the bridge (made by a great old company) and my luthier did this little trick he knows to silence the hum from the other two plain old 1999 Fender Alnico single coils. I put money into this guitar long ago, and you should be prepared to do the same with any budget guitar. PS - get to know a good luthier. There are so many times when he or she can be your best friend! And I love that Jazzmaster style ax! But they can keep relic jobs. If I wear the paint off the body, that’s one thing. I don’t need someone at the factory with a belt sander to do it!
Rust on the jack is unlikely to be a problem with packing unless there's clear evidence of it getting in there. Most likely to be the big Achilles' Heel of Chinese manufacture - that of poor metallurgy. Chinese metals ain't great due to societal reasons. But this is small potatoes anyway as that's an easy fix.
@@jimshorts6751 Not quite, show me your science? it's all down to how and where the guitar box was stored and shipped, and guess what, No silica Gel is much worse than having a couple of packs. Even better if it's in a hard case!
JET offers good guitars but there are some corners cut to offer them at low price. Last year I bought a JET JS-500, had to go over the fret edges which unfortunately is common for quite a few cheaper guitars and knock one fret back to it’s place. The major issue I found after just 2 weeks was the 2 point trem, the knife edges are really soft, they where worn down enough for them to cause problems, so ended up replacing the trem.
I will vote for the JJ-350 for your sake. Personally, I favor hardtail strats so much that my heart is with the JS-800 and some minor surgery (e.g. new pickups [would love to discuss] and a Free Way 3X3-05 toggle switch).
Very cool video and review. The only bad thing for me is I don't have many dealers in my area of the USA...however there are dealers available on reverb. They do all look great! I love the pink T style guitar! The Hardtail s style relic is really more my thing as I love the Kramer/Charvel styling of it. Not loving the relicing, but relic guitars aren't much of my thing...however, on their website they have a floyd rose model with similar relicing that looks amazing!
I bought a lefty Jt300 about a year ago, I added brass saddles & locking tuners. it sounds fantastic once Set Up correctly, fantastic value for such a great sounding / Playing guitar
A good brand of guitars at a still very reasonable price, certainly worth serious consideration for those interested in buying (a whole range of types). I have a Stratocaster from them, it serves very well. Greetings Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
The Pink Tele all the way! It's pink and it's a Tele, what else do you need? Just add a 4-way switch to run the 4th position in series and you are done.
Sorry to disappoint, I'm always a fan of an offset but that Keith Richards-style tele... there's just something magical about dark in the bass position and bright in the treble, and that does it very well.
I just bought my jet jt350 sunburst for 309€ a value for money guitar🤘🏼even the guitar tech at he music store where i bought says “this is good sounding guitar”after he is done setting it up..the neck feels premium with roasted maple neck/rosewood fretboard locking tuners..i was hesitant at first..not as great sounding like the premium guitars.. but todays budget guitars are in onother level..🤘🏼🤘🏼
START ME UP! Lots of Stones today Andy.😁 But you got two strings more than Keith. Liked the Tellys Great demo. Thanx alot. 👍 Btw, I see ypub have stolen Philips ( know your gear something) stockings for the fretsproute check 😂
I've never played an HB or Jet guitar. My favorite all around guitar is a $179 Firefly Les Paul. It does it all, better than my Squire Strat or SG. Yes, even Reggae up chop.
Got a JT 350 after seeing @stevecassidyguitar review and must say they are really really nice. I'd love to get a JS 300 or greater but sadly hardly any shops in Germany have them to try out. The only negative I see is the head stock logo. 80's NY Subway graffiti tag is not my thing on such traditional guitars.
Black Strat should stay for sure, it has the best pickups of the four and is a pretty unique take on a Strat-style guitar. The matte black relic finish is like a Tom Delonge via Dave Murray thing, which I think is pretty cool.
Why is it a good thing for an electric guitar to be loud unplugged? You going to play a gig with no amp? Also back off the neck pickup on the JT 350 and it will clear up some of the mud.
Hi Andy. Vinnie from the UK here was wondering if you have ever seen, played, or heard of Michael Kelly guitars. I'm looking at a telly style one but can't seem much in the way of reviews. Keep doing what you do. I'm a proper fan.
The JJ-350 is hands down my favorite. Sounds great, love the feel of offsets and the binding looks brilliant. Keeper!

The JS-800 is amazing. I totally forgot about them when I bought my latest guitar and I kind of wish I'd have remembered the Jet, it might be in my collection. But of course I'd like to see more of it on the channel!
A very watchable review video, great flow through out , its the jazz master for me love that shape 🤘
Hey Andy awesome Video hey I got my eye on the guitar behind you looks like a cherry sunburst awesome :)
I’ve had the JT350 and have played the JJ350 a bunch of times too.
I really like the JT350 that muddy neck humbucker really works well with fuzz etc.
Cheers!
I have a JS-450 and mighty impressed with it for £299. 🔥🎸👍🏻 Great video.
The JS 450 is very well equipped
I tried these for the first time at the Bristol guitar show and was blown away. For £179 I think these are great value and would definitely be a great instrument for a beginner guitarist.
Thanks for the reviews! I watched this and just went and found a JJ for $336USD with a set up,shipped state side! Transparent green with tortoise pick guard. Looks amazing! Can’t wait to get it.
Enjoy it
@@TheGuitarGeek what are your thoughts on it after having it for a bit?
That pink Tele it´s beautiful!!! I got the Jet JS-450 Transparent Blue
I have one of their JS300 series Strats. It plays and sounds absolutely incredible. Way better than it should ever be for the price range.
Well Andy, I watched your review some time ago about the RG550, went to shop…tried and bought it. Now you peaked my interest in the JJ350. You are dangerous to my credit card 😂.
There are so many T and S budget guitars. The offset for keeps. A budget, good playing, and feeling "jazz" is worth adding to the collection.
Great work as always sir 😃🙏
Love that Jet Keep the same headstock for the Strats and Tele's. 😎👌
Tele shape headstocks (as much as i like them) are annoying for hanging.
Jet also doing some of the best neck heels alongside Charvel and Ibanez AZ 👍
JT300: loved the bridge pup and liked the neck although I typically don't like tele neck pups. Loved the look.
JT350: Liked the bridge pup well enough, neck was mud. Not a relic guy
Offset: Sounded balanced liked both, looked nice even although I dont like offsets personally.
The offset was interesting. JS800 headstock shape is so awful I would never want that, and that stupid relicing ridiculous.
My No1 is JS 800 for its tonal capacity and 2nd is the JJ
the 800 has a suhr vibe and the perfect pickup configuration i really love it , however ! the JM ils sooooo beautiful and the binding all around the body even tho it have the arm rest is pure perfection , the only downside to me is the headstock shape , put the "suhr like" headstock in the jazzmaster one and you have a 110% perfect guitar
Good video!!🤩😍 Thank you!!
Hm...but, isn't there a push/pull on the T style 350?🤔
They say on thier webside...
I'll go for the JJ-350...(got my own JS-800, they all look different, mine came with a different knob and the tuners were crap...)🎸🤘🏼🎸
Actually, that silica gel on the neck for moisture during shipping is a pretty good idea.
Those silica packs in a cardboard box are completely saturated with water vapor within 30 minutes.
@@jimshorts6751 Not quite, show me your science? it's all down to how and where the guitar box was stored and shipped, and guess what, No silica Gel is much worse than having a couple of packs. Even better if it's in a hard case!
I like the JJ but I'd probably switch the wiring to allow coil-splitting. The body shape and contours have me wanting to hold it.
I have three HB telecasters and a Fender and the HB’s are so good I gave the Fender to my son!
Yeah...the J style guitar was absolutely the best one in my opinion as well. It is a keeper!
I bought a lefty Jt300 about a year ago, I added brass saddles & locking tuners. it sounds fantastic once Set Up correctly, fantastic value for such a great sounding / Playing guitar
Andy thank you for your honest reviews. Just saw the jet guitar, great.
Thank you sir for your great channel. I certainly agree the one made it for me is the Jazzmaster style guitar 🔥🔥🤘
😮 The Jazzy is a stunner. What's not to love at those prices.
JJ 350 is beautiful!
A good brand of guitars at a still very reasonable price, certainly worth serious consideration for those interested in buying (a whole range of types). I have a Stratocaster from them, it serves very well. Greetings Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
The Jazzmaster or JJ-350 is around $700 in Australia. Not exactly budget friendly.
Buy Artist guitars
They are sort of on the same level
The Pink Tele all the way! It's pink and it's a Tele, what else do you need? Just add a 4-way switch to run the 4th position in series and you are done.
Sorry to disappoint, I'm always a fan of an offset but that Keith Richards-style tele... there's just something magical about dark in the bass position and bright in the treble, and that does it very well.
Would like to see more of the jj350. , or the jazz model.
Nice axes Andy, I like the Blonde T style they do!
Keep the JJ!
I wish they also had a JPB, but they only offer a JJB.
A JPB with the option of a maple fretboard option and dot inlays.
START ME UP!
Lots of Stones today Andy.😁
But you got two strings more than Keith.
Liked the Tellys
Great demo. Thanx alot. 👍
Btw, I see ypub have stolen Philips ( know your gear something)
stockings for the fretsproute check 😂
How are they comparing to the East Cost guitars you tested?
I've never played an HB or Jet guitar. My favorite all around guitar is a $179 Firefly Les Paul. It does it all, better than my Squire Strat or SG. Yes, even Reggae up chop.
Got a JT 350 after seeing @stevecassidyguitar review and must say they are really really nice. I'd love to get a JS 300 or greater but sadly hardly any shops in Germany have them to try out.
The only negative I see is the head stock logo. 80's NY Subway graffiti tag is not my thing on such traditional guitars.
I think the tele with the humbucker id like to see you mod it to make it perfect
There's something about the JT-350's middle position on crunch that almost tempts me to get it just for that tone.
Would like to see a combination of the JS800 finish and layout with the JJ style body.
Black Strat should stay for sure, it has the best pickups of the four and is a pretty unique take on a Strat-style guitar. The matte black relic finish is like a Tom Delonge via Dave Murray thing, which I think is pretty cool.
If it's the one you like best, keep the JM style guitar. I've got an early JS 300 and the it's got a better neck than my MIM tele.
Tangential observation: Your underneath cyan rim lighting looks excellent! 👍
The jj-350 is my favourite, I’d remove the pickup covers and relic it up a bit, it’d be a proper rock machine!
Rosewood finger boards disappeared with people saying there was a shortage of this variety of timber.
Is that no longer the case?
Why is it a good thing for an electric guitar to be loud unplugged? You going to play a gig with no amp? Also back off the neck pickup on the JT 350 and it will clear up some of the mud.
Hi Andy. Vinnie from the UK here was wondering if you have ever seen, played, or heard of Michael Kelly guitars. I'm looking at a telly style one but can't seem much in the way of reviews. Keep doing what you do. I'm a proper fan.
Hi Vinnie! There is a Michael Kelly video coming to the channel very soon!
@TheGuitarGeek thanks looking forward to it.
