I had a 3Doodler Create a while back and it clogged every single time i used it, and when i did use it it barely worked. I then got a scribbler V3 and it was soooooo much better. It never clogged and it was super user friendly. I haven’t tried all these but from what i’ve seen the Scribbler V3 is one of the best you can get.
If some company could take the speed control of the 7Tech and add it to the small size of the 3Doodler Create, (with the price of the Dewang but using ABS/PLA) they'd have a winner.
Excellent overview. I only own the 3Doodler Start and love it but wish the custom filament you have to use would come in longer lengths. Replacement filament is inexpensive but you can run through 2-3 sticks doing even the most simple design. On the plus side, it comes nicely packaged and with an excellent booklet. Great channel, great content and I look forward to whatever you post next!
Pierre Fontaine cant say the same i got a start a while ago and it got clogged in the first five minutes. I took it back, got another and the same thing happened! I now have a 3doodler create plus and i love it
Just started looking into 3D pens. We loved your video. Your succinctness and demeanor is quickly helping us make our decision. Thanks for the great review!
you should make a second channel called "make anything 2D, where you can just doodle with traditional and digital drawing and possible do some stuff where you teach how to do stuff like sharing and anatomy or even just do speed drawings with commentary, anyway, you are awesome dude and hope you pass a hundred thousand at least
I reccomend if you get a pen the takes a while the dry do it some where cold but don’t use a fan because for 3D structures it will blow it which causes it to curve
I got a pen last year and loved your channel for all the tips and ticks and DIYs, and this year I got a 3D printer! BTW I love your channel so much as I said before😍
Hello Davin! Video looks great! :) There is no need to be concerned about safety of CreoPop LED lights. Our LED light is in blue spectrum, so it is not harmful for the eyes. We have conducted a Photobiological Safety Test under IEC 62471-2006 Regulations, which proved that our LEDs are totally safe for eyes. Also, it will be more comfortable for your eyes if the room is well-lit and you use black mat surface for creating.
+CreoPop that's great to hear! I want sure since there is the auto shutoff when the pen is tilted, and commenters were saying it's because of the UV rays
I got a 3d printer for christmas and it amazes me that i can now make my own plastic parts at home. technology has come so far. Great videos and I love your channel.
Can you please try out the UpDraw pen, I got it and I am not that sure how to use it properly. It's $70 at brookstone and the filiment comes in spools.
Which one cools fastest? I want to be able to draw up as quick as I can. I'm impatient. What can I say? Plus, drawing up is he only reason I want a 3D pen
Lillian Harris Pens that can use ABS plastic can draw straight up easier than those who use other materials. Check out the videos Devin made for the pens using ABS. (Listed in the chart at the end of this video.)
@@make.anything thanks for replying! Your videos really helped me in choosing the right pen, and have also given me a nice bit of inspiration for things I can do with mine! Thanks for the great content!
For the 3doodler users: Buy a spool of 3mm abs-pla filament get you friends help to hold a long piece of the filament as straight as possible, take a hair dryer and blow on the filament for some seconds, and there you go!!! Cheap filament works for me!!!!!!
Your not really meant to draw in mid air for detailed projects keep that in mind. What youre supposed to do is draw the shapes on a grid then connect them with filler for a proper 3d project. Or if you want it curved then use a 3d stencil like a fruit for curvature
Thanks this was helpful but I'm on a budget and my local craft store has the create on sale so I'm gonna get it, my friend has it and she says it works great
IamBatnerd 26 I have the create I love it one complaint is that the filament is not cheap and it only comes in strands filament is 10$ for 25 strands and you use them quickly 😕
Henry Seymour I think so. Not only is it fairly easy to control, but it has two speeds: fast and slow, which would be recommended for amateurs. Also, the process of loading in plastic is very simple and easy. Just be sure not to touch the tip of the pen.
absolutely perfect review. 1st time on the channel. subbed. obv thank you. I appreciate your chart there at the end quite a bit. not even sure if I’ll end up actually buying a 3D pen but the prices are so reasonable!
ziki ardani the light blue 7techh one is only 27 dollars on amazon with prime shipping and is amazing I would definetly recommend it also comes with 2 filament coils
From what I've learned about the Creo Pop, it DOES NOT use UV lights, but rather LED lights, which are safe. I believe the safer LED lights was one of their marketing advantages offered in their advertising of their product (Just like the Polyes Q1 light curing 3D pen - which also looks really safe). From their website about safety: "The LED lights used by the pen are similar to LED flashlights."
I bought filament for my 7tech (pla unless amazon lied) and it doesn't stick to any surface so it pops up when make it like cubes even on printing mat things like the one you used it also smells extremely bad
PLA barely smells, so maybe you got ABS, which is indeed more difficult to stick to surfaces.. It also helps to draw with the pen more vertical, instead of holding it like a regular pen
I think the reason for that really slow speed is for stopping with a clean rod edge, just like welders do (post flow time on tig welders) as at the fast speed you show a stop looking like a star tail, which would not look very nice on an otherwise clean project
Thanks for helping me understand this newfangled gadget so i could make an educated decision on which pen would be best for my teenage daughter. Keep on!!
I think you have a small error in your chart. you can remove the hot end from the 3dsimo even if its clogged. They include a metal tool in the box to cut the filament right behind the hot end so it can be removed.
For me I'd like the scribbler ver3. I have seen many used that and good because u could replace the speed and the room temp. I just wish theres a in my country.
Honestly these are good pens. But I got the sunlu for like 15$ on eBay and it isn’t bad. If you are creative and good at art the sunlu is pretty good for projects. If you want to get fancy tho and make sculptures I suggest the pens on this list.
i once had a pen for only 15$, and it was stupidly good for this price! Can print pla and abs, adjustable speed, and controllable temperatures up to 230C. And to my surprise it lasted 3 months until it wont heat anymore. But for this price it lasted very long.

+Make Anything // 3D Printing Channel Good content, as always, but what's up with the video quality ? But it's always a band/patch, that has the(very approximately) height of 1/5*frame, and is most visible in the center 1/3 of the width of the frame. It's centered horizontally and it "wanders" vertically from the bottom towards the top, but it's visibility seems to partly depend on the colour of the video over which it passes?? I tinker around with a few things and Im starting to think a 3D pen could be helpful. Im curious if any pens have plastic that can adhere more or less permanently to other objects. In particular, modifying cases to nerf guns and handheld game cases, and maybe on rare occasions LEGO bricks and fixing random plastic toys. Im also interested in making small odds and ends around the house, but nothing involved enough to buy a 3D printer. Is there a good pen and filament combo for these kinds of applications?

Hi Thanks so much for this detailed review. I was able to decide to get my first 3D pen thanks to you. I just have a question though with fixing a clogged nozzle. The 3D printing pen I have doesn't seem to have removable parts. no screws or anything. Do you have other ideas on how I can fix clogs for this type of pen? Thanks in advance!!!
you should test out the 3D Magi pen. my friend has it and it seems to be pretty terrible so you could show everyone what is a bad 3D pen to get to help people choose if they want one.
I had the 3doodler create, and unfortunately had no end of trouble with it. It kept chewing up the filament with the rotator, and when I asked what to do they suggested fiddling with the tempuratue (it’s a hidden thing you can do with it) and that just destroyed it. I haven’t used it since, and it kinda threw me off 3D pens. Made me sad :(
I just bought a Dewang x4 ,it actually came with PLA filament. It had the letters and size printed right on the package. It worked fine, the stream is thinner but it dried pretty quickly. I don't know if the filament makes the difference. The instructions did say to use PCL but didn't provide me with any. Have you tested your dewang x4 with pla filament?
Make Anything // 3D Printing Channel that could be it. I bought it off Wish and was hesitant, hoping it wasn't a knock off. Seems legit though. They might just be getting rid off old inventory. Only cost 41$ not including shipping
I like the creopop because it is best for drawing in midair and because it doesn't get hot. However, the price of the pen and filament makes it too expensive.

Hmm.. I know they had a PLA version, maybe they just gave you the wrong instructions?
Make Anything // 3D Printing Channel that could be it.
I bought it off Wish and was hesitant, hoping it wasn't a knock off. Seems legit though. They might just be getting rid off old inventory. Only cost 41$ not including shipping
I like the creopop because it is best for drawing in midair and because it doesn't get hot. However, the price of the pen and filament makes it too expensive.
