I exactly thought this. The second time you watch it, its also amazing because you the foreshadowing and i understood the story a bit better in season 4 so it was even more epic. I was rewatching it with my cousin and he watched for the first time and it was his second anime. He was amazed at how good it was. But i would love to wipe my memory just to watch this again.
The whole story is sad. Eldians who never knew what their sin is, Marleyans who brainwashed younger generations and mistreated the Marleyan-Eldians, nations who had nothing against Eldia yet they had to perish... And most importantly, young adults having to fix and save the world politicians themselves ruined. AoT is one of the few mangas that us psychologically complex and not the simple shōnen in where there are fixed good people and fixed villains, with the same plot in each arc.
I know it's officially shonen but it definitely crosses the line into seinen themes at times, not just because of the on screen violence and gore but just overall intensity, political drama, etc

I hate when people say that Eren's character changed too much in s4. This video is a great example how Eren always stayed the same, but just learned to use the true, heroic, yet devastating power he holds. He always had the same motives and feelings.
I’m pretty new to aot and I have just finished watching all four seasons today, so that’s why the first season was still pretty “fresh” in my memory I guess and I was very surprised when I noticed the parallels because - it’s a genius way to show us how much Eren has changed through the whole story. Aot is a masterpiece In every kind of way and you cannot convince me otherwise
just yesterday I did a homework for my university about exactly this, parallels in these scenes lol really well done, I didn't notice several shots that appear here
AoT is actually a very good choice to write an essay on. Many of the parallels are very blatant and have a lot of examples. And the messages are very clear so it would be hard to feel like you’re reaching for anything
I started watching AoT last summer, and I specifically remembered Eren's final line, because it was so violent and a conviction with which I truly resonated with a character that I just knew; I was hooked. So, when I listened it again in the final... I couldn't do anything but to lose my shit. This is a story that will last ages.
Eren should win. I'm not trying to be edgy, it's just that following the situations and circumstances surrounding the AOT world, completing the Rumbling is the current best choice.

Also, Eren losing doesn't destroy the anti discriminatory message, we already saw what war and racism did to their world. At the end of the manga the tree were they buried Eren's head grew like the tree were Ymir got her power, and since Eren did end the titan curse this can mean that a new kind of massive power has emerged, looping once again the story of this never-ending cycle of hate, war, racism, etc. Something that is way more complex than just "racism bad". Also, racism doesn't come in just one way, it's not like Marleyans were the only bad guys. The one that started a war against them that lasted centuries was the first Eldian king. Marleyans had a lot of reasons to hate Eldians, they literally had the power to wipe out all of humanity, and the main reason their enemy, Eren Yeager, activated the rumbling wasn't for just revenge, or to defend the Eldian empire, it was for his friends, because he wanted them to live long and happy lives. Eren is not supposed to be a badass hero that takes revenge on the bad guys that killed his mom. He's literally just a tragic, conflicted, egoist, idealistic, pathetic man-child that has a twisted idea of freedom, that has too little time left to save his friends from this cruel world, that got no other options left but to commit a global genocide to achieve freedom, and didn't want to take away the freedom of his selfless friends, so he let them stop him. Attack on titan is not a simple shonen with an obvious message, a lot of people underestimated its writing and completely missed the point of it all.
Attack on titan is one of the few animes that make you feel for every side of the story, at the start you're against the outside world, but in season 4 you see that alot of these people are innocent and are brainwashed to think the eldians are devils, all sides have positives and negatives to them, there is no right and wrong
I don't know why but this reminds me of my all time favourite Technoblade quote: "the only thing that works in this world is that you treat others how they treat you, and those that have treated me with kindness I have repaid tenfold. But those that have treated me with injustice, that have hunted me down and hurt my friends...I will return in kind a thousand times over!" A weak paraphrasing I know but I think the core message applies well here
Eren: "Stop attacking my island." Marley: "no" Eren: "All of your life and breathing privileges have been revoked." Marley: what? *Eren's Boss Music, The Rumbling, starts playing*
Eren not only got revenge for Paradis Island, but his retaliation was hundreds of times more devastating than what Marley has done to them. Serves them right.

AoT is *the* anime that I would say defines the 2010s. The 90s had Evangelion, the 2000s had Fullmetal Alchemist, and the 2010s had Attack on Titan.
