The whole story is sad. Eldians who never knew what their sin is, Marleyans who brainwashed younger generations and mistreated the Marleyan-Eldians, nations who had nothing against Eldia yet they had to perish... And most importantly, young adults having to fix and save the world politicians themselves ruined.

    • @noeruxd4048
      @noeruxd4048 2 роки тому +1

@@petrusstreamrock5315 The message is not that simple, even a child could get that. The main message throughout the whole story has been how the cycle of hatred pushes us away from freedom. Also, Eren losing doesn't destroy the anti discriminatory message, we already saw what war and racism did to their world.
At the end of the manga the tree were they buried Eren's head grew like the tree were Ymir got her power, and since Eren did end the titan curse this can mean that a new kind of massive power has emerged, looping once again the story of this never-ending cycle of hate, war, racism, etc.
Something that is way more complex than just "racism bad".
Also, racism doesn't come in just one way, it's not like Marleyans were the only bad guys. The one that started a war against them that lasted centuries was the first Eldian king. Marleyans had a lot of reasons to hate Eldians, they literally had the power to wipe out all of humanity, and the main reason their enemy, Eren Yeager, activated the rumbling wasn't for just revenge, or to defend the Eldian empire, it was for his friends, because he wanted them to live long and happy lives.
Eren is not supposed to be a badass hero that takes revenge on the bad guys that killed his mom. He's literally just a tragic, conflicted, egoist, idealistic, pathetic man-child that has a twisted idea of freedom, that has too little time left to save his friends from this cruel world, that got no other options left but to commit a global genocide to achieve freedom, and didn't want to take away the freedom of his selfless friends, so he let them stop him.
Attack on titan is not a simple shonen with an obvious message, a lot of people underestimated its writing and completely missed the point of it all.

    Gave me such goosebumps-
Watching the show again makes me really miss the beginning of the show before I knew what would happen at the end. It's one of those shows that's so amazing but heartbreaking at the same time. It's a masterpiece.

Eren is Ymir's greatest creation. Since she's the one that transcends time, I bet her final moments before her kids ate her, she started creating Eren. It just took a long time for her to create the army that he'd need. He's her true lover.

Not enough time for it especially when his plan was to kill everyone outside the island so no safe spot.
That and those people are involved in his suffering too atleast way more than some random non Eldian who were just living their lives. If they have to die why not Eldians outside the walls too

Where will they be safe? there is not a single place Marley would leave them be after their encounter with Eren.
Plus even if he did and fled to a safe place what is the guarantee that his friends and military would be stable?
Marleyans can track them still right? They cant be in peace anywhere in the world.

The hypocrisy in seeing Marley’s attack as villainous but thinking Eren’s attack is well deserved
Both killing innocents for selfish desires and self-protection lol. That mirror is the beauty here, not the “payback”

Marley attacked Paradis for no reason other than fear of things that happened 100 YEARS AGO. Eren meanwhile is attacking for things that happened to him directly. Hmmmmm, but boo hoo Eren is killing ppl!

People really are stupid huh? What Eren is doing IS wrong. There's no point in debating that because it's not an opinion. It's morally wrong from an objective standpoint.
People who pick a side and say "they deserved it", "Eren is not a criminal" and 'Paradise are the good ones" completely missed the entire point.
Isayama put all this effort just for his community to be pathetically stupid. What a shame...

Marley attacked a generation of Eldians who were innocent of everything the 9 Titans did in the past. Eren is directly killing those who put them in that hell, but carrying millions of innocent lives as well. Who does the right thing? It's a bit obvious that none of them, but as Eren is the child we saw go down that whole path of trauma we don't give a shit because this is a series and those people don't exist lol.

Even with everything you say, I personally think we shouldn't think Eren is a hero or that he's doing the right thing. He is a villain and he is committing genocide and no matter how we see it is not correct. It is selfish you could say, but prsonally I understand it and as a person who also loves his family, I do the same as eren.

Erens attack on Marley is 100000x more terrifying then marleys attack on him. Atleast you had a chance at survival with Marleys attack but with erens theres little no change you have to sit there knowing you can't outrun the colossal titans
