I have TD-125 MkII with an SME 3009 S2. Just recently re-built all the electronics. Also replaced the springs and feet. I love that "old school" speed selector.
I bought a 3009 s2 in 1985 ( around Chinese new year ), and sold it in 2011 ( with TD 160 ), The new owner should be very happy, that tonearm looks like 98+ % new. w/o any sign of use.

I like this TD-124 better than your recent one. ⚫

You don’t turn it off to change a record … you use the clutch system
never mentioned or showed the start /stop lever on the left side in operation to start the turntable ,only done it on the speed control
Exquisite!
you should not turn it off when changing records, you should use the ideler.
