  • Exploring the Bonnechere River, a lost, abandoned and all but forgotten canoe route.
My adventure starts off in Algonquin Provincial Park at the Basin Depot, it ends 36.5 Kilometers later (after a major hiccup) on the shores of Round Lake at the Bonnechere Provincial Park.
Thank you all for watching my video.

Did this route the September long wknd this yr, it was pretty low water compared to the video. We had to carry over at least a dozen but likely more trees that were blocking our route. I enjoyed it!

We looked at buying Turner's Camp last year but they wanted too much for the condition. I really wanted it and to try and get this lost canoe route much nore functional again.

Depression is REAL... Mental health is just as important as physical health and both need taking care of... Be well and take care my friend 🙏🏾

@@NatureBound You are welcome and NOT alone! I too suffered from depression and slowly isolated myself from family, friends and other loved ones spending 95% of my time either alone or sleeping. It's taken a lot for me to reenter the world find meaning and reason to. It's different from one person to another but those reasons are there. Allowing others in is key! Wishing you well brother, much strength peace love and BLESSINGS 🙏🏾

A good pair of Muck Boots would go a long way on canoe trips.. They are a must imo..

I have a pair of muck boots but I almost drowned when I was a kid from a pair of muck boots.
They work good, until you need to swim with them on.
So yeah not my favorite choice while canoeing lol
Thanks for watching it's greatly appreciated :)

@@NatureBound Well that expierience would kind of ruin your opinion and wanting to wear them lol... You not having the desire to wear them is understandable my friend 😄

@@lamontallen9435 I was fishing with my friend Adam North at the end of Stevenson's lake in the set of rapids where I lost the video of me going down the rapids. I took a step out too far and the current swept me off my feet into a big pool. I remember my boots were so heavy when filled with water that I couldn't get back to the surface. I had to take them off while under water and then finally was able to resurface. Scared the living daylights out of me, never wore any heavy boots in the water since then lol.

@@NatureBound OMG!! I'd still be shaking had I had that experience! Thankfully you kept your wits and removed them instead of panicking and took in lungs full of water! Again had that been my experience even a picture of Muck Boots would trigger my PTSD 😭😂😂 Happy you're here to tell the tale lol 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Did you ever consider rowing over there and checking to see if anyone was there and putting out the fire? Wouldn't have taken much to do but would've saved tons. Thank God 🙏🏾the fire never took off! You went to a strangers cabin to relieve yourself but wouldn't go to a strangers cabin to put out a potentially devastating fire? Being an outdoorsman and nature lover,as you are,I'm disappointed in you. Still a fan of your videos though. Both,Bushcraft and canoeing 👍🏽

I did think of it several times throughout the day and probably should have but then I would be trespassing and not really a fan of being charged. LaFleur's cabins is a public access historical site, and at the second cabin I didn't even get out of the canoe. But I hear what you're saying and you're probably correct. I appreciate you watching and the constructive criticism without being rude. Thank you

I watched your whole trip and enjoyed every minute of it. Look I like fried Pike/Walleye on the shore. And Brook Trout too (well who doesn't?) I was hoping you would catch a big Pike when you used that white lure. All the best from Michigan.

Wow thanks Ray that's greatly appreciated. I hope I didn't put you to sleep lol. It was kind of a long and slow video lol. Oh i like the shore lunches as well but really wanted to do the river all in one day and hopefully not paddle in the dark. I'm actually surprised I didn't catch at least a little hammer handle . They're usually pretty plentifully those little ones. Thanks for watching it's greatly appreciated :)
