i think for a good bonus point idea, you should have a “best multi-day build” (So an example would be the Battle Droid on day 8 and the STAP Speeder on day 9 combined OR you could have a build that takes 2-3 days to complete, like the small ship from the GOTG calendar last year)
Almost the same scoring as i have - i gave City the GOTD though instead of the tank (and my bonus point for the most useful parts - i love those masonry bricks and need a bunch of them for a build i'm working on).
I really dig the Hailfire Droids and destruction they dealt in Attack of the Clones, so I'm really glad that it won the Gift of the Day! Fun fact about it: The Hailfire Droids were originally used to be debt collectors for the InterGalactic Banking Clan before the Clone Wars. Imagine getting bombed just because you were overdue on filing your taxes! Also, I absolutely adore the mentions of the Heartlake City Mafia whenever Lego -Fiends- Friends get brought up. I've been lurking since last year's advent calendar extravaganza, but I now need the full lore on them!
It's a decent tree, I'll give them that. Sometimes simplicity is best. I wish that the fireplace came with actual FIRE pieces-as we know Lego is capable of creating-instead of handing out slices of amber to pass off as. The grey bricks most definitely should have been masonry to cover up that band back. I'd say those two are my favorites of this day's line up. I wonder what will be in store for my birthday, which is the 12th!
A bonus point should be for best diorama display with all the gifts in the correct places on the play mat. You know, for people who understand how the calendars work and dont cut the display mat off
I think that's a great idea. We always penalize multi-day gifts so it's great to cut the calendars a break. Did I detect shots fired about the display mat?
Actually, we haven’t got a Christmas tree in last years HP calendar. The most vegetation was the dementor infested forbidden forest micro landscape. Great scoring tho, I’m impressed how that pathetic little tree could get 3+1 points 😄
I mostly agree with todays score but I would swap Lego friends and hp. I love hp but the tree is just to generic. Also a fun category could be most confusing/unrecognizable gift of the year
Today's house-cat-hurler gift from the pigmy cabal made an excellent catapult. I guess for a teeny tiny build the Lego City fireplace is a solution. I can't say it's a great one. The gray is a bit mundane. Can you try the jetpack on the Carol singer from Lego City? It is a good match for her outfit. Star wars did come through for us Jeremy. That's a cool little Droid tank! The grey things are causing me a bit of PTSD from the Avengers reindeer though. Not to be a spoiler but I think this is the first of a couple tree possibilities from Potter. I guess Lego is trying to decorate Hogsmeade village. It was nice to have a few extra parts including a second star though. The Droid definitely deserved winning although I'm still a little weirded out by those gray parts with the empty spaces like I said-reindeer issues. I was hoping Sunday would be a fruitful day but paltry pickings instead. Maybe Monday will be magic? We shall see!
Great video! Still sad about the spoiler yesterday. But you know things just happen. Anyway now I’m looking forward to it and hopefully it’s not a gag or something. Anyway still love the videos and look forward to them. Also sad that HP had a tree this year. At least it’s a good looking tree
I feel like that everytime you have a bumper Mini Fig day then the next are all a bunch of ho hum stuff. Its as if the calendars are conspiring to make sure all mini figs is same day lol
My husband got double pieces in his Star Wars calendar today and was able to build 2 tanks! I completely agree with your scoring for today, though i definitely wasn't expecting Harry Potter to move into first when I built my tree!
@@jeremyherbertofficial"My number of Hailfire Droids have doubled since the last time we met, Jeremy." "Good, good...twice the firepower...double the destruction."
Back down to earth with a bump, lol. Worst thing is though we’re going to get another one of those Christmas trees in the potter calendar. Last place incoming
These day's gifts were as miserables as day 8 and deserved the 1 or no points, even that tree looks more like a rocket but... Harry Potter 6 (5 +1) points, Star Wars 4 points, City 3 points, Friends 2 points, Marvel 1 point. Total so far : Harry Potter 37 points, Marvel 34 points, City 33 points, Star Wars 28 points, Friends 28 points.

If I’m not mistaken, I believe Jeremy has done that before in the past. Hopefully it will carry over this year
@@TheHuntersCantina ohh, he has as well, its just been so long since the last advent opening 😅
I really like this idea. We've done that before and it turned out great (apart from the midnight editing session on the 23rd).
@@jeremyherbertofficial me too, it gives lacklustre days a second chance
The tiny fiends have a whole bunch of clip-together features. This could pull them up from the muck.

Christmas Tree Are Classic Things In A Advent Calendar
Nice
I am sending your posts to LEGO to see if they will improve their FRIENDS gifts next year! Kidding but something does have to change...
Loved the amy winehouse joke, certainly wasn't expecting that in a lego advent calendar video lol
Thank you. I was worried that one might be a little too much. My humor can get a little dark.
Nope it’s good
@@jeremyherbertofficial it was perfect
Yess come on potter we can beat marvel
Sadly I didn't pick up any of the lego calendars but I remain team hp
19 seconds?!
Hi btw
Those fireplace jokes were grate.
Oh, that’s good. Wish I’d thought of that.
On days like this, every calendar should be tied for last place and get 1 point. IMO. 😭💕
Crazier things have happened!
The fireplace jokes are on fire. Keep lighting it up!

I like the most confusing gift of the year. Could be a win for Star Wars or Avengers.
No mini figure not a grate day for lego
Today's gifts definitely don't deserve a "Fine day sunday" in fact these gifts were the worst of the week 😂
Yes, definitely an off day today. Hoping for better tomorrow!

Ah, Lego City never fails to disappoint us, am I right?
Sad, but very true.
Slow day, great review thanks. Love the English jokes, being a Brit myself. Have a great week, xmas greetings from Chicago 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Great to have a fellow ex-pat on board. I love Chicago!
Hooray for the Diabeto catapult 😄 I wonder how this HP tree will fare against all the others…
Poorly for sure
I moved house today not easy moving Lego let alone an advent calendar got my tree built wish it was more like the tree on the front
Congratulations on the move. Moving with LEGO is an absolute nightmare. I think there might be a slightly more elaborate tree to come!

Spectacular presenting skills Jeremy you must be a race announcer by day
Thank you! I do work in a creative field, but nothing nearly as sexy as race announcer.
