They have brought real R&B back...that's that Gamble and Huff sound..got a Harold Melvin and the Blue notes vibe to it.and a lil O'Jays sound..we needed this
I just came across you, you have a absolutely gorgeous voice. Bruno's my guy, seen him many times and he just gets better and better, he makes my life a lot happier Thank you for your comments they were all true😉
I’m with you…Silk Sonic is the best new music around today! So glad you react to the video as well as the song, so much more enjoyable than a reactor just doing the audio.
I've been listening to Leave the Door Open since March, now we have a new one that's soooo good. I agree with everything you said, I also really need these songs right now and they bring me up so fast, Do they know what their doing to us?. I like your reactions, Thanks
Love Bruno😊 Btw did you react to Austin Brown's Brand new man or Earn it? He posted a song for his lady that came to him in a dream; have u written a song for your wedding?
This straight up Philly soul with a twist of new school. Love the Gamble and Huff writing style and Thom Bell arrangement which gives it that disco bop . Love your review. 😃
Yeah great points, especially how past true quality comes back around time & again. There's actually a new series of Fresh Prince of Bel Air coming, with a completely different vibe & cast, like non-sitcom. Will Smith is actually from Philly, & just like the style of some of the other songs reflect Motown, Skate is reminiscent of groups out of the Philadelphia International camp. For instance the string lick you mentioned brings to mind Rose Royce's Car Wash movie theme song, & also McFadden & Whitehead's anthem, Ain't No Stoppin Us Now. One sound a lot of folks miss that was used quite a bit with the Stylistics besides the bells (glock), is the use of the sitar, a stringed instrument traditionally found in music of India, often performed along side the tabla drums, or just in meditation. You can hear it right from the downbeat in the intro of the Stylistics' You Are Everything, embellished by the strings. It's used much more sparingly here in Skate, like for the bridge on the downbeat of every 2 bars & after Andy's line leading into Bruno's. It's just so rich with the blend of strings & guitar. Their attention to detail is bananas! Anderson even mentioned it saying, he'd think a track was cool, as in done, & Bruno was still tweaking, going after nuances. What an incredible collaboration, paying homage to r&b soul legacy, a little spice of rock, & display of production in the way of skilled musicianship, smooth choreography, & great showmanship. Great reaction response on your part. 👍
Super reaction Brad. Silk and Bruno are doing exactly like you said. I’m just wondering if 4th Impact is going to tackle this one. If anyone can do it THE BOSS, Mylene can. She does all the arrangements for the group. Look what she did with LTDO. Thanks Brad ❤️🙏🚂
Check these little kids out covering 'Skate' : ua-cam.com/video/DqtkKEq_ZvU/v-deo.html Silk Sonic are bringing quality old school vibes to the very youngest generation! We need more music like this to teach and inspire the youngsters on what real good melody is and how to play real instruments and to sing with soul. Can't wait for the full SS album!
Bro not Motown Philly soul. gamble & huff . This song reminds me of Ain't No Stopping Us Now which is the official feel good song that ends the 70s era. This productions reminds me of the Quincy Jones and MJ and Chaka Khan & Rufus era of the late 70s and early 80s.
Hi Brad, I hope you could make a reaction video to Elaine Duran’s latest cover of Mariah Carey’s Butterfly uploaded on her youtube channel. Please, Brad, do this for us. She is, as usual, amazing and awesome. More power to your youtube channel, Brad. Love from Philippines. 💗
Based off of the two songs, the album is going to be unbeatable.
Silk Sonic brings a smile to the world! "Oh my oh my" MJ's Rock with You first 2 seconds
The perfect blend of modern and retro.
Love your reaction and breakdown to the singing, musicians, and ladies skating. SKATE! Oh my oh my to Silk Sonic!
I like what Brads' ear is able to pick up on. The little nuances in this piece. (Thumbs Up)
