- Join me as I take on the challenge of renovating this 100-year-old abandoned house and turning it into a shelter for Fatima!
This 100-year-old abandoned house has so much history and character that it's so old that it's waiting to be restored to its former glory. And I am proud to be a part of its transformation and make it a suitable shelter for Fatimah in this difficult situation.
When I first walked into this property, I knew it was going to be a challenge. The structure was compromised, the walls were cracked and the roof was leaking. It had been neglected for decades and it showed. But I also saw an opportunity to not only restore this house, but to preserve its history and character.
One of the biggest challenges we faced was structural issues. The foundation needed to be repaired, the walls needed to be strengthened and the roof needed to be completely replaced. Unfortunately, we did not have the right financial conditions to strengthen this house. Another challenge is preserving the historic aspects of the house. We had to be mindful of the materials we used and the design choices we made to ensure the house's character was preserved.
, we encountered more surprises. From termite damage to secret lizard nests, every day brought a new challenge. But we did not give up and worked tirelessly to overcome every obstacle. The goal was clear: to create a beautiful and functional house for Fatima that respects its history and character.
The rebuilding process was a wild ride, full of twists and turns. But all the while, we stayed focused on the end goal. We worked hard to keep the original charm of the house while making it modern and functional. From cleaning the original hardwood floors to washing the intricate moldings, every detail was important.
As the renovation neared completion, the excitement grew. We couldn't wait to see the finished product, walk through the doors and feel the sense of pride and accomplishment. And when the day finally came, it was overwhelming. The transformation was stunning and Fatima's reaction spoke volumes. Tears of joy streamed down her face as she walked through her new home, taking in every detail and marveling at how beautiful it all was.
I don't know if Fatimah's tears are due to joy or sadness. I hope that Fatimah and her children can live in this house safely and away from misery.
The journey to renovate this 100-year-old abandoned house was long and winding, but the end result was worth it. Seeing Fatima in her new home, surrounded by her family's love and history, is a real privilege.

There are no windows but a partial window and the door and no rugs or pillows to lay on and the place is horrible. So dirty. Not good. He's controlling her.
