"What have we here? Two deserters?! Up wit' ya! Git in line!" That said, the Jackson film, despite being an overall great movie, I despise because it cuts out the part where Frodo and Sam have to disguise themselves as orcs to get to Orodruin. The being caught napping part also happened in the book, and since both the goblins and orcs were whipped to drive them into battle, this song is strangely fitting. Also in the book, when Frodo and Sam were caught in disguise by the orcs, they actually passed a close enough inspection where the orcs gave them food and alcohol.
Technically, they do get picked up by a troop of orcs in the Jackson films but I’m pretty sure it’s only in the Extended cut. I’ll link a video to the inspection scene, it’s not entirely accurate to the book but I think it gets the point across.
ua-cam.com/video/feEAlrLCX-I/v-deo.htmlsi=RTIA3-6exqhspSF0 Link as promised. If you haven’t already, I suggest watching the extended cuts of the movies. They add about an additional hour of scenes to each film.
Ridiculously thrilled to listen to this, and despite how this is a song I'll still spontaneously burst into, this is the first time I realized the lyrics were, "slaves of the dark lord's WAR." Thanks for enunciation and subtitles!

I worked at a place where the management took this to heart.
I never grew up with the Rankin-Bass Return of the King adaptation, but dang is this a catchy tune.
Big Thank, a Collection of Middle Earth Poems would be not complete without an Orc Song, and this one is very important. Many Orcs are not Soliders, the are Slaves of the Big Eye, forced to figth. Thanks to you, and the Team from Return of the King from 1979. Very good Movie.
It's so strange how things seem to line up at times. Not too long ago I found this song again. (Watched the movie when I was a kid.) Did not expect at all to see a cover of it by Clamavi De Profundis.
Love your guys' work!
At first I was thinking "I can't believe they covered this!" then I remembered what day it is. Well played...
So wish this song had made it into the new movies, great job
The scene was there in the extended just not this amazing song lol
@@SaintSullys they coulda made it into a simple war chant woulda been cool.
I have been waiting for years for a modern version of this song to be redone. You have made this fan proud. I remember seeing these cartoons before I saw the movies, it stuck with me since my childhood.
This is low key excellent.
Beautiful. Love this song and it sounds just as good with a little Hollywood Howard Shore epic fantasy flare to it.
'How did ancient civilizations build such wonders without modern technology?'
Ancient civilizations:
OMG I audibly gasped when I saw this. This was childhood favorite.
You guys really are amazing. I really hope you do more songs from the two animated movies. There was lots of great music in them. "The Barrel Riders Son" "Less can be More" "the Valley Song" and others.
I forgot how many times I've just keep hitting rewind on this. It's so amazing!
Didn't think you could top last year's, and here you are. So good!
The greatest musical moment of the Rankin-Bass specials, FINALLY done justice! Thank you!
(All you left out was the reprise: "C'MON, YOU SLUGS!!!")
Wait, this was suppose to be an April Fools video?!
Dude this song was part of my freaking childhood, and you just made it slap even harder!
This song is not fooling anyone with how good it is.
Really?! These are glorious days!! We've been blessed with a cover like no other!
YESSS!!! BEEN WAITING SOOO LONG FOR YALL TO COVER THIS!!!
Amazing!
I swear this song plays every day when people go to school/work-
If it sounded like this originally, it would’ve been treated as a joke and would have worked much better, great job!
Despite this being for April Fools, I really love the song xD The animated LOTR was the first one I watched and so it brings back tons of memories. Great job!!
Just love that you kept the jazzy baseline in.
Excellent commentary on conscription
Nice, seen this randomly in a vid before that was clipped from the movie it's self.

Link as promised.
