They have gt3 physics on lock. Every time i start playing another game, such as iracing, it makes me love acc even more. It does suck they dont have as many tracks as some games, but hell, people only race monza and spa for the most part online. I get all my dlc for free, so i don't really pay attention to the prices if that's a concern.
I think Kunos didn't expect this game to be that big, especially without modding. Then with the team not being that big, they probably didn't have resources to do all of this. Even still, you're right about everything.
How many tracks would they need to add to a DLC, what would it cost to laserscan and fully develop a track. I fully agree with you but I think they just dont have the playerbase to cover the costs of laserscanning and then creating all detail and scenery for each of those 20+ tracks. The game would surely increase in popularity for sure, but also how many of the new players would buy 15 DLCs after purchasing the game.
I do agree on the face of it it seems pretty wild that we don't have all the official tracks but at the same time I feel like anything after the initial game released was never promised or guaranteed, and probably shouldn't be assumed or expected. I'm absolutely gutted about certain tracks not being added, like Okayama. But if we go back a few years games would ship with certain things and that would be it because there was no internet for dlc. Nobody expects F1 games of old to be updated to include newer ones because they release a whole new game with the new calendar. Food for thought.
When you take ACC's competitors into account they are constantly being updated. F1 games never needed updating because there is a new game every year. I think its been a bit more than a few years since games started bring out DLC its been like 9 or 10 years man since PCars1 or even Raceroom
@@KrypticTMG yeah I can't argue against that tbh, I can't justify defending them hard. They're slacking and I do wonder if there's reasons we're not being told. All I can say is they never promised any future additions to the calendar would be delivered. But you would hope they would be ambitious.
Yes, lets keep adding tracks. Omg, Kunos has to be quick with the reaction on these.... Why Kunos, why? Oh wait, thats right, making tracks takes time and money. I love how people talk about all this like its as simple as "press button for good tracks". In 2019 they started working on ACE. Being the official game does not grant them any more money, if anything they are most likely paying for the license initially and if anything it would mean smaller budget going forward that you recoup with new tracks. Sure, DLC can help paying for these tracks, but I don't think people actually realize how much money goes into development and what the actual size of Kunos budgets are. If anything it took a while for them to get more popular and reach a larger audience. Its not GT7. Look up the numbers of how many sales they made since even the FIRST Assetto Corsa including ACC as well, and then look at what Polyphony made with any single GT game. If this was Polyphony I would be annoyed, they clearly have the money to do it. I don't think this is the case with Kunos, and again, they were already working on their new title, as any developer should at this point, because the license isn't forever and you are always looking to the next thing you are making. Especially in the case of ACC were they realised making a sim racer on UE4 wasn't the best of choices. And again, it was not as popular as it is now and I doubt even now it is as popular as people think in terms of what budgets it can create. Missed opportunity perhaps, sure, but as you said, we barely play all those 25 tracks anyway already. Even casual racing doesn't cover all the tracks for the most part in different communities like LFM etc. I am totally fine with it. There are more than enough tracks to master, and the racing thrills never get old. Would I have loved to have more tracks? Well, who the hell wouldn't? That is like saying "oh, I love this game and racing on different tracks, but I don't actually want different tracks".... Ofcourse we want more tracks, cars, the whole shabang. I would love to have an Asia Pack with the tracks from Asia. That would be so awesome! And if they stick more to Europe, at least give us things like Magny Cours, sure I agree. But does it actually affect my experience? Not in the slightest. I enjoy racing on this game so much, I barely have gotten to master even a third of the tracks at this point. If we want to talk about things you can do, well for me there are a good 20 tracks I still need to learn much better to reach the level of other racers, and not just 5. For old timers? Sure I get it you been racing for 5 times as long as I have. But still, to say the game is not getting sales or is a missed opportunity for not having some tracks in it is going too far. All things considered, looking at the end result and the player retention, I would say its not the reason it hasn't blown up more. And looking at the end result I mean also not bothering to care what budgets they do or do not have, or if they are developing another title etc, just looking at the end result. Its more so the longer term players that really care after a point, the newer waves like me (which was the biggest surge I would argue ACC got in the later years) have still so much to learn and master we really don't care if we have 25 tracks or 30 tracks. And its a good number for a game of this scope. Could we have like 40 tracks? Sure... Expecting as such from a smaller studio? I disagree. And again, more of "most tracks wont be even raced" will occur so its hardly even as important in the end. As for the setups being less important. Can't say this really hurt the game. The old timers that find this as a bad thing I would argue are like those kids that would play an MMO all day long to lvl up and get the best gear so they have an edge. Setups being less important (less, not that they are not important, they are simply not as important as before) if anything gives newer racers the chance to level the playing field too. If anything, this made it more accessible. Are there some meta setups that work well in most cases? Sure. And? After a point we just want to race, not sit there all day figuring setups out. I loved it at the beginning and was making my own setups, and then a few months in I was already bored of it. If anything I found it to be cumbersome. And they STILL made such a huge difference to my results, so saying they are not as important doesn't mean much to me. I found a channel with good setups that suits my style, after looking into something like 5 to 6 different free setup sources out there, and stuck to it, and now the last thing I care about is making setups. I just want to jump on and race. Don't have the life-time to spend figuring these out, and I sure as hell wont be paying for them online. Not a chance. I know enough to alter some aspects here and there, and that is good enough for me. Oldtimers probably mad they paid for setups and now they have a smaller advantage.
I do agree but coming from the horrible EA F1 games I have been loving ACC compared to that and most over sims ice tried. The league I'm in is blowing up. The game is great but I do agree it'd be nice if Kunos devoted a team to continue adding content to ACC (Corvette C8R pls)
I am all with you on asking for new content, ACC deserves it as it is such a good racing game and could go on being played for many more years. Still, Kunos is about to launch AC Evo, so definitely all their efforts are on the new title, and we are talking about a small developer. I mean, miracles happen, you saw how Nordschleife was added? Soo.. let's keep asking for more!
They were due to scan Magny Cours (had the date booked I believe) but the pandemic and lockdowns happened which stopped them. Why they haven't gone back since I don't know.
I hardly ever play ACC, so I wasn’t aware, but the amount of missing tracks is really wild. To be the official GT World Challenge game while missing some of the most iconic tracks is kind of nuts, especially when so much (if not most) of the fan base keeping the game alive would happily pay to get access to the tracks. I’m excited for EVO and hope it reunites the AC player base. Can’t wait for launch and really hope it lives up to the hype.
I went to Road America last year (GTWC) which is 4.5 hours away from me. Indy is actually only 2.5 hours away, but I prefer RA. I think Road America is one of the best tracks in the world from a driving perspective. I've been doing Raceroom lately and forgot how good it drives. Probably my current favorite.
I would love to see another American track pack. Road Atlanta, Road America, Daytona 24hr layout , Sebring , Lime Rock , so many great tracks still in the USA.
All your points make sense. Have to spend money to make money, and Kunos would make money with all the DLC packs that they could make. Let alone the Corvette is racing in the SRO American series, and the Aston Martin EVO is racing all over the world, so many tracks and some cars. It's a shame IMO. I enjoyed your video. 🙂👍
I get that your saying needs more tracks. But with the online lobbies only really hitting Monza and Spa I wouldn’t say it is a big issue. I think they need to have a penalty points system like iracing with the 17 points per race , so 4 points for crash, 2 for hitting barriers and 1 per off track. Might improve the standards a little bit more.
They could just be focusing on Evo right now and continue with updates for acc after release. I agree with you that acc can be/is a successful stand alone gt3 game but they have definitely fallen short of what the potential is. Fuji and Hockenheim would be super sick to have in the game for me personally.
What I don't quite understand is why the SRO didn't push for all these tracks being added, I mean it's THEIR official game, they should have the biggest interest in this... I guess there's just not enough money in GT racing and even less in sim racing sadly
You'll never please everyone on setups. Personally I don't care if the meta is easier to find now as I don't want to grind, and I don't like a game that has crazy alien set ups. Tracks yeah we needed a part 2 to the American pack, plus Asia, plus missing Europeans. But there's also missing cars to add in too now. I guess it just depends if the dlc still make a profit for ACC down the line but for sure if everyone stops playing it then no one is gonna buy the dlc, they need to keep a team on it, keep it active. AC evo should sit alongside ACC, not replace it, they are two totally different things. I get that kunos is small but that's how you expand and grow your business.
I think we don't get full picture mate. There a lot of "maybes" here... Maybe there are some licensing issues, maybe Kunos were not able to laserscan tracks so they decided to not put half decent ones on DLC, maybe it is not financially justified, maybe those will come along AC Evo. I know for sure, that unless people are FORCED to drive on certain tracks because they are on leauge, they would stick to Monza, Spa, Brands and maybe one or 2 others. Look at open lobbies and it's distribution. Most people are more towards learning new car than new track. It's better to add new paid car, which will let you win races on your 4 familiar tracks.
nah hro, yr trippin. acc is frickin awesome. new mustang and new nurburgring recently. with all the dlc (which is easy to get, ive got it) theres heaps to do. the game is the so good its all i play. you gotta fight thru all yr negativity bro and keep playing it, it gets so much better the more you play. good luck
Ya the game is fine. Doesn't change the fact that if you are claiming to represent a real life racing series your game needs to reflect that. I will say the pessimism this guy has about the games life span might be a little dramatic cause it seems to be the best option for gt3 racing.
come on man. i just counted them. ive got 25 tracks. and every one of them is so good that each time i do a deep dive into one it becomes my favourite… lol. dude 25 tracks is frickin plenty. with just a little bit of imagination you can come up with any real life racing series you could care to want. :)
Great review bro. There was a time when....before Discord...there was an Official Website for AC and ACC. A lot was contributed by the community. I also helped with finding bugs and glitches. Often times the hot fixes brought more issues and that's because a key element is missing. If only Kunos hosted Competition or Tournament events they would attract Sponsors maybe even the same real life sponsors and that funding can help with development. I know they always had test simulators racing but that clearly failed or was not properly implemented to provide value for the global community. To be honest just depending on sales is not enough for regular salaries and development in the IT world of Simulation. Kunos want to remain relevant.....host tournaments in different regions and we will make payments via Patron....wait do they even have Patron???....Do they even have a monetized UA-cam channel? Whoever is in charge or marketing and development is owing the cartel...seriously. great video bro. Thanks. Oh i forgot to mention that there used to be a guy on the old website hosting AC challenges and events. The stage was set but a lazy team simply cannot think beyond the box.
My complaints (before watching this vid) lots of car wheel don’t make contact with the track. The’re like dogs who needs a piss. Crank up the windshield wipers and it starts raining jarder instantly 🤷🏻♂️ When the track is soaking wet but it isn’t raining, the air don’t use their wipers while i have to because i can’t see jack sh.. And why aren’t tracks like Spa, Zandvoort and Barcelona updated after all after the years these are changed. Even nord-schleife, which was told that it was build up from the ground, has the jump on the sweden cross 🤷🏻♂️ This was fixed in real life way longer before the nord-schleife was introduced in the sim. So how can it be build from the ground up so much later then told? All these chages will problably be the next acc volume. ACC II. So we will pay for stuff which had to be updated for a long time. And these kinda updates game for free in other sims. Go check AMS 2, you will see. No Kunos, you’re messing up. Your goal is money. Its what make the world turns.., and you look bad (imo)

All the good vibes Kronos did with Assetto Corsa they wadded up and wiped their bungs with in ACC. I moved to AMS2. Hopefully 1.6 drops soon.

Hopefully they continue updating it. I think it’s been success. It’s the only game on console that you can get iRacing level racing.
I like the game it's sht loads of fun feels great and isn't that the point.

I feel there trying to be like Gran turismo for pc gt3 racing will continue on the new platform.
@corymullen8464 gt is a sim cade, acc is a full on sim. There's no comparison. Forza would be a better comparison for gt on pc.
Tell me you only played GT without telling me
I people can hack ACC to do 400 km/h I'm sure that it should be possible to get tracks into it.
