Tom was the most Canadian of anyone i ever knew, he was a patriotic leader in song, AI am from PEI where he grew up and have been to Skinners Pond where he grew up many times
I am startled at how gentle and soft spoken he is. I had always thought he was harder edged and peevish - a result I realize now , of written interviews where the writer insinuated a choleric temper. So charming too. There is an innate goodness to the man.
"Elwood Glover's Luncheon Date" As I recall, Stompin' Tom got married on that very show a few years later. Folks likened it to Tiny Tim getting married on U.S tv....Not even close in my opinion. Cheers Tom!
He gave Waylon Jennings a really nice advertisement... I thought that was classy because he probably didn't have to and it probably wasn't scripted... he just did it...
The irony of this interview is not only did he get married, he married Miss Lena on that very program, Elwood Glover's Luncheon Date. It was the Canadian version of Tiny Tim and attracted 2 million viewers.
I loved that Canadian gentleman's surname. Same as my own.
One of the most Canadian Canadians of all time!
Legend and so humble .... Artists aren't like this anymore 🙄
Great interview with stompin Tom Connors legend
What a true Canadian icon. Wish I could have seen him play live. :(
I’m ten and so do I. I love Stompin Tom so much
True Canadian patriot and legend. Gone too soon.
Gone too soon? serious? he made it to 77, smoked up to 5 packs a day.
He was lucky to live as long as he did the way he smoked, most people don't make 70 smoking that much think he had a three pack a day habit

He was not treated very well by the media and the radio stations very well in general.
My hero makes me feel so proud to be Canadian..
What a great story of how he started out.!!
" Everything he has he uses, which is the way to live "
Love you Tom, handsome man

What year was this? Epic that he was playing with Waylon!
You won’t get more Canadian than him

Just stand in the Connor and bugger it out with no microphone ....lol that's talent
2 people disliked this... if either one of ya live here in canuckistan do your country a service by living somewhere else
I like Tom, cool video. What year was the broadcast?
Nice one. What year was this from?
This must've been about 71 or so judging from the style of the presenter's suit. Also Conners wasn't married until 1973.
I Believe, It's From The Year 1973, From The Horseshoe Tavern In Toronto (Ontario)
Bud the Spud banned in the Land o Freedom of Speech this is hilarious. Their loss LOL
