I had alot of fun with my single slammer. I had a JDM D15B 3-stage VTEC with a D16Z6 head that was freshly rebuilt with an eBay turbo and it was fast enough to edge out modified WRXs and Mazdaspeed 3s at the drag strip, but it wasn't what I would call fast nowadays. It never failed to bring a smile to my face. When I went B series I sold that engine to my best friend and he put it in his EJ1 coupe with an old Ford Thunderbird turbo with a Bisi cam and it lasted for YEARS until he sold it to some dude that pumped the boost pressure up to 18 psi and blew a rod out the back of the block for fun.
340 whp sounds about right for a healthy Y8 with an eBay turbo at 15-16 psi. My freshly rebuilt B18B1 made 409 whp at 15 psi with BC cams on an eBay turbo.
Can you make videos about how to wire up switches to the hondata s300 for hi/lo boost and data logging on the fly. There is tons of hondata videos on UA-cam but nothing out there on how to wire the features.

I'm in the process of building a D16Y7 with the Y8 head swap, I will be setup very similar to this. I will be running all forged internals and a GT45 turbo with 1000cc injectors and many more mods... After seeing your video I know know that I will need 2200cc injectors and a bigger if not dual fuel pumps!!!

Build a rallycross car, or even a Stage rally car, I feel like you would have alot of fun with either. Has to be a Honda, if you go stage route I can get you in contact with a codriver with Civic codriving experience, he's a good codriver and almost beat all the turbo awd cars at sno*drift in an Ek civic.

Building a d16y8, should I use the y8 crank or another crank I've hear the y8s spin bearings like nobody's buisiness I have an a6 crank laying around it has the cross drilled oil holes. Is it as bad as they say or is the y8 crank fine?
Quick question, I have a 00 ek coupe with a d16y5. It’s got skunk 2 intake manifold and 70mm throttle body. Fuel pressure regulator and exhaust. Just got a cxracing turbo kit. This is my first turbo build I’m wondering is it necessary to buy vitara pistons and all that other stuff. Or can I run it on stock internals , im aware that it could mess the engine up bad lol but Right now I’m getting arp head studs. Would I also I need springs and retainers? I’m new to this whole Boost thing lmao. Any info would be much appreciated. Love the videos , really teaching me a lot, keep up the great content👍🏻
I have just boosted my d16z6 I have one of those tial knock off blow off valves and its jammed itself open already... Has anyone had this problem? Is there a fix or should I buy genuine? Many thanks Good work as always Hunter!😁👍
It’s happens on those, I suggest disassembling and checking out the diagram inside to see what’s catching and holding it open. But bov are pretty cheap regardless
@@tannerharkey It doesn't seem to be strangely... I only just noticed it as I heard a air leak, checked and there's a 1/4 inch gap with the sealing ring on show.

Miss these motors. Had a fully built and sleeved one all motor and ITBs. She ran 10.3 i. 1/4 in my old stripped 88 crx lol man she moved.

The throttle issue is probably the throttle actuator flange catching on the skunk manifold. I had the same issue myself.
Definitely can't wait to boost my single jingle... And build my other block for hp numbers like this.

It’s most likely stock crank it’s probAly springs retainers pistons and rods maybe cams ive seen vitars build do 500 whp on e85
Maybe it doesn't have Vitara, maybe some other pistons with higher compressiob

Just use a small Wastegate spring until you get internals.

I can tune just fine without it in the ecu but yea can be nice to have on the ecu too
