I sold some Canon gear and bought my first Fujifilm camera this year. I really like the XH2S and looking forward to the new firmware updates for AF coming. The Fuji 1.4 primes are amazing. Sigma 18-35, amazing. I’m using the 18-120 f/4 PZ lens a lot too.
I knew there was a reason I subscribed to your channel. Love my X-H2s and my X-S20. I'm waiting for touch to track to come to video mode. Still it works really well.
@@Josh_Sattin I believe I saw spring somewhere but , I can't remember if they gave an exact time frame. I hope really soon as it's been a while since the last update.
Yeah I will have to test the AF more. I have been using MF more and more with everything I do. I've heard the AF performance depends a lot on which lenses you use too.
Tbh man, 18-35 is probably the most versatile lens for Xh2s. Get the latest glass for great autofocus but if you want something with some character, try the 35mm 1.4
Hey Josh! i've been looking at the xh2s for a while now and your video came just when i needed it haha. i'd love to see a comparison of the xh2s and the lumix s5iix, both cameras seem very similar in specs and price point and i can't quite find a proper video here on youtube to help me with my decision. but anyway, great video! really like you real world applications
I don't currently have a S5II/S5IIX. In a lot of ways they have similar specs. The big differences that I can think of are that the Lumix has more video stuff (shutter angle, anamorphic desqueeze, etc.) and full frame, where as the Fuji has the stacked sensor and uncropped 4K60. Both pack a lot of value for video. A lot of it comes down to personal preference, lenses, look of the image, etc.
I have the s5IIX but I will sell it and buy a Xh2s. The lumix have too much rolling shutter, and full frame lenses are bigger, heavier and more expensive.
They absolutely will go down that path at one point as its too profitable. Look how well the god damn EF and heavy ass one sell. They'd be dumb not to.
Man, you really cranked out some beautiful shots with that sucker! Side questions though, what was your vlog camera, and what ND were you using on the Fuji? That ND obviously worked excellently!!
Newer Fuji lenses like 23mm and 33mm 1.4 WR ! They are well built and sharp! Made in Philippines 🇵🇭 but really feel premium and good quality! 😎 ohh and fast focusing cuz of linear motor there
@@Josh_Sattin welcome, I recently bought X-S20 and decided for Sigma 18-50 2.8 and Fuji Xf 33mm 1.4 wr lm. Sigma is ok but Fuji lens is somehow special plus sharp even at 1.4. And I heard 23mm is even sharper. Cannot afford all at the moment but hopefully add it soon.
Thanks for the video! Would be interesting to see the stabilization without boost mode after all the updates. Because this and the autofocus was the reason for me not buy it. The sample footage I've seen from the stabilization after release was super good for stills, but in motion it was super jerky.
Fuji is not great for walking around and vlogging… the cheap kit lens with stab looks decent. It clear looks nice for static shots. Even when I use the 150-600 lens.
@@Josh_Sattin I think it looks good but only when you first start shooting… I had taken pictures of an Eagle for over a hour and then thought let me take a video…. I’m strong but it will get heavy lol I bet B&H would let you borrow one.
Hi, great video. I follow your livestreams, it's good that you now make content about Fuji. For video I use the X-S20 which also has 6k open gate. I have the Zeiss Touit 32 f1.6, the fujinon 16 f1.4 and the compact 23 and 50 f2 (the latter are better for video). Recently bought the 18-120 f4 pz motorized zoom, it is an f4 but it is designed for video, it is parfocal and LM motor with no focus breading. I would like you to try that lens since it has a bad reputation for being designed for video. Thank you for your content and greetings from Argentina!
I love my Fuji XH2s after using it for 1.5 years, and it is slowly replacing my Blackmagic Pocket 6K as my main work/client camera.
they are both great, at least when it comes to the image!

Yeah that would be a nice feature for Fuji to add. Thanks for watching!
@@Josh_Sattin yeah it's coming soon. They announced it at their last summit. Coming this year I'm an update.
@@Josh_Sattin great video.
Oooh nice! Did they give a time frame?

Love love love that camera
WOW your march spring and my march spring days are VERY different...
Haha. I can imagine!
Love it! This is awesome! about a year and half with mine and it has been amazing
I have an x-h2 (not s) and love the camera, but feel like I’m fighting with the autofocus all the time. I mostly shoot small manual lenses on it.

The colors are great!!!
Total did not expect to see photage from Pullen Park. I am right down the road from there ;)

18-35 never disappoints!
Glad you mentioned the magenta shift because that’s the first thing I noticed. Other than that, image quality looks really good.

i have the xh2s but i'd just get the lumix, better ibis, better autofocus, more video tools

God, I wish Sigma will create a mirrorless version of their 18-35mm ART
That would be pretty awesome!

18-33 f/1.4 😮
I feel a $1200-1400 contemporary version is coming.

Thanks! I was using a combination of the DJI Action 4 and DJI Pocket 3. This is the ND filter I've been using for years: geni.us/hvFBj
@@Josh_SattinGreat to know, thank you!

Wow. Josh and Fuji, nice hehe
Yup! Adding it to Canon and RED.
@@Josh_Sattin Nice! I have X-S20 at the moment! And add Canon also in future I hope 🤞🏻
does it only work with flog 2 or both ?

and you will do a test with a BM video assist 12g to check the color science ? just kidding hé 😊
You're changing camera systems like underwear, my man. Or like a youtuber ;).
The major downside of this camera is said to be the video autofocus and that's the part you decided to skip??
As I said, this was not a full review. I also mentioned that I hope to test out the autofocus in the future. Thanks for watching!
Some improvements to Video Autofocus are on the way via firmware update
Try the fuji lenses before u buy. They are practically useless for manual focusing.
