I'm not a car guy, but I really like this car. What advice would you give to people for looking to purchase a new car??

My advice is research the car you want as in what are the common faults also if you have any friends with mechanical knowledge ask them for advice also check the history the car as in the mot history has it been looked after or has it been abused and the same applies with the service history has it been serviced at the right mileage intervals also I'd highly suggest a hpi check so you know the car your buying hasn't had a bad past I hope this helps you

better to prefer facelift 2004-05 they have several differences, the car if you don't put it on track and turns it doesn't need anything but good service with 5w40 oil every 5,000 km 2 lift screws cost 1.5€ and gearbox fluid redline mt90 gl4 not gl5! toyota pink antifreeze,
warm up before you run it and always good petrol 95-100ron. The 2zzge is very relibale engine generally but if you want to race the car in track days MUST forged oil pump gear, 1zz oil pan or moroso (way better) and the car will be bulletproof you will always check the oil is full, from oil consumption if you don't race you will have 200ml consumption per- 5,000 kilometers if the engine is in good condition!
S O S!!! before you buy the car, have the mechanic measure the compression to be above 175PSI on all cylinders!

I do like these as a practical alternative to a ep3. I do prefer the little mk1 Yaris t sport

Isn't the type r ep3 197bhp and these are 189bhp? I've had one and it was one of the most fun cars I've owned

Your correct tbf I always get the 2 co fused as they are so close bhp wise

@@Off-Stock they are also identical in weight I think? 1210kg? The corolla just feels a bit heavier and maybe clumsy compared to the type r, I found the corolla alot more aggressive on the cam crossover though. Very cool cars and very underrated
