as someone doing solo pvp exclusively since 2015 its nice to come across your channel. not enough solo pvp guys out there. a bunch of us solo pvp guys even know each other pretty well just by fighting each other. its a whole different kind of community in eve

Could you explain for a newbie what you do when the enemy pops up in your dscan in a small site, what buttons do you actually press to engage? orbit at range (keep spamming?) dependent on enemy, afterburner (leave on?), dual web (leave on?), and fire rockets pretty much it?

Another great video! On the topic of choosing to tank hull instead of armor (or, more generally, to tank X instead of Y) -- and with the Kestrel VS Kestrel fight as an example, where once the target was down to hull they just melted -- assuming a buffer fit including Damage Control: isn't it always best to tank hull, because that's where the highest resists are, across the board?
It depends as while you get good resist across the board some ships have a very low amount of hull tank and it's not wirth doing.
Armor rigs give more ehp than hull overall, but you are vulnerable to explosive damage. Hull has slightly less overall but no resist holes.
Armor rigs slow your ship down and make you take more damage from missiles/slightly harder to control range. Hull doesn't slow you down but impedes cargo space, which is a non-issue for frigate 1v1s.
can someone explain to me why this kestral build does so well against the executioner who has an armor repairer?
His ancillary armor repper was holding up - while it still had charges. But the dual webs let you get in a tight orbit and together with the low sig radius from armor tanking lets you get under his guns.
Kestrel is such a power house in solo frigs

little tip though. stick with a cookie cutter fit but just meta up your dps and warp scram. if you stay at about 12 to 13 km you can pop almost any brawler frig without it even hitting you much. i have pop daredevils with it. tank is not important if you can kite well

What does it mean to meta up?
means to use a more expensive module with a little extra range or dps. a km can make a big difference if they cant hold you down but you can them.
usually means you got them warp/webbed and you are not. so they are dead in the water and you still are at full speed, hard for them to damage you yet you do max damage
