    I remember fishing in a small Loch with my cousin in the hills and as the sun set a herd of deer came over the ridge and the stag stood there against the red and gold sky watching us and the herd moved over the hill. It is engraved in my memory.

    I was going to like your video until you said "Peat, this is the soil that whiskey is filtered through".
    The peat is added to the kiln during the heating of the malted barley. The peat adds a medicinal astringent flavour to the finished whiskey. Never has whiskey been filtered through peat soil. All that aside, very nice video of an area that I know well and love to the bottom of my heart.

    • @Starglance
      @Starglance 6 років тому +4

      ScottishGeeks
      We Germans can pronounce it very well, because we have the very same word in the German language. And it's pronounced like the Scottish pronunciation: NOT loc"k"
      In Germany it means a "little hole".

    Who the hell goes to the Green Welly Stop & buys Haribo. Heathens! They have one of the best whisky shops in Scotland!!! The cafe also does very nice sausage rolls. I come from Kent in South-East England and the Green Welly Stop in Tyndrum is one of our "must go places". The drive from there to Ballachuilish is, in my opinion, one of the best in the world!

    Funny thing, when I was home in the summer I had to go to Glasgow for my passport and it felt like I was leaving Scotland it was so 'south'! There is not much North of where I grew up so everything os South including Inverness where they keep messing up things with historic buildings. Edinburgh is such a gorgeous city, its a pity it's so expensive to live there if not I would move! France is so much cheaper. If you suffer from Migraine Shaun ( as I do ) then beware the coloring in sweeties !! They drove me mad until I found out.
