Creative Writing for people with Marginalized Genders and Disabilities | Reading Event Showcase

This showcase reading event is the culmination of our 6 week program "Wordplay Creative Writing for people with Marginalized Genders and Disabilities" presented by the Centre for Independent Living in Toronto and Vibrant Healthcare Alliance.
This program was designed and delivered by Rebecca Wood (CILT) and co-facilitated by Lucy Costa-Nyman (Vibrant Healthcare Alliance.) Readers featured in this event are Cat Peevers, Betsy Klotz, Audrey King and Amy Rae Miller.
This program explored writing as a form of creative self-expression rooted in the ways that lived experience of Disability informs how we write and what we write about. Every week we co-created an accessible writing space and used a variety of writing prompts to welcome our minds and bodies into playing with words. We also practiced sharing our writing with each other and as the program progressed participants wanted to share their writing with the public as well.
