The XB9 Lightning is exactly my flavor of weird. A lightweight, air-cooled V-twin streetfighter with tons of innovative features that, despite actually working, never really caught on. It looks unique and sounds utterly bad-ass, and it's super-nimble. Plus it's from 'Murica. Absolutely my next bike when I finally trade up.
They are awesome. Only bike I would consider as a replacement would be a ktm 890 duke. The Yamaha my07 has crap suspension and brakes and less power. I’ve owned two now and I won’t get rid of the current one ever.
As an American watching this, it’s really excellent to see other countries appreciating Buells. It’s funny, I think they are more appreciated abroad than they are here. Incredible motorcycles, misunderstood in their time, but people are finally catching on to how Great they are.
as in common sense, those bikes are pure bullshit, just like Harleys in general. No sense making a sport bike with a harley suck my ass engine, when japanese are laughing at your attempt to build a sportbike. but when you sit on a bike like that and ignite it, feel the shake and noise, you will soon understand that speed isnt the reason people buy these :D
GENAU DAS! ...hab ich so an meiner Buell geliebt =) 7 Jahre lang eine XB9 SX (Baujahr 2009) gefahren... mit Remus und allem pi pa po... Das ewige Knattern beim Abtouren ist einfach ein Traum! Bedingt durch merhfachen Nachwuchs, stand sie die letzten beiden Jahre fast nur noch rum... zu schade eigentlich. Beste Grüße aus Pankow ;)

Ich bin aktuell auch am suchen,was mich stutzig macht ist,dass gefühlt alle angebotenen zwischen 18 und 26 tausend auf der Uhr haben… Steht da was großes unangenehmes an oder warum müssen die dann alle weg…???!!!

I miss mine. traded it for the 1125CR, which is great, but doesn't sound so great. I bought my xb9 with an aftermarket exhaust and it sounded like my v8 mustang with glass packs.
The 1125 needs the right exhaust to sound good. I love the Barkers on mine They sound like nothing else at idle, that V-twin grunt but much more urgent. And they scream when you get up above 10k
Ja,die Buell hat richtig fette Elektronik am start für 2003,mit quasi-bluetooth usw,dies muss ja auch alles hochgefahren werden und die technik läuft halt etwas mehr,auch wenn die fährt hört man die am start.

Knallgas I worked as a buell mechanic for 9 years at a Harley dealership. It’s a 984cc.. no matter what ecm mods you have. Google it. Trust me. Not trying to argue, but you’re incorrect. I am literally looking at the manual for the xb9 as I’m typing this.

The features do all work. The brakes work great. And the fuel in the fame makes it handle extremely well
You won’t be disappointed. The XB9S is the best bike I’ve ever ridden, and I own an 1125r

Vor zwei Tagen eine gekauft für 4.900 mit 19tkm in richtig gutem Zustand. Bin so happy.

It is a 984cc, however yours has the Race ECM and Race Exhaust.

Ne, nie angehalten und wenn, muss man halt auf den verbauten Harleymotor verweisen und auf original Teile 😁
How can you ride like this? A few pops now and then are great, but it shouldn't be farting like this all the time. Get your valves checked.
it probably needs a tune, harleys doesn't need valve adjustment FYI.
From the factory they were tuned super lean to pass emissions
