Thank you SO MUCH. You're doing a service to all of us who want to mod or repair our mouse. This is the best kind of documentation and reference. Cheers!
Thanks! I couldn't figure out the correct placement of that little spring on the clicky side of the mouse wheel and it was driving me nuts until I came across this.
Thank you, I was able to replace both of my double clicking switches. The disassembly was very tricky, but once you learn the methods, it's much easier.
@@siwiutki1987 Any new mouse switch will do, in fact, I have used smaller silent switches and they are perfectly working right now. I got a silent, properly working G305, it's amazing. www.aliexpress.com/item/32756151300.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4d0JKMlx
@@siwiutki1987 Those are the silent switches, you can buy them from stores close by, not necessarily specific to the seller. Basic components really. The switches you bought will do as well, whichever fits your needs. I was happy with the original switches but how can both die on me, sadness. Had to replace. Worth it.
@@ChargedPulsar Well i bought new G305 today coz my old one after cleaning it lasted 3 days without double click, now im waiting for switches also gona get some grip tapes and new sliders, and if everything gona go smoothly my sister would get almost new mouse and i will keep moded one.
For anyone who first time attempting to disassemble their mouse, I highly suggest that you use something sharp to take off the mouse skates. Don't peel it by your nail or you will ruin it.
overall good tutorial but tips for anyone doing this -when taking out the wires of the mouse buttons dont just yank they might be glued in and will remove the isolation like mine -if you want to remove the thumb mouse buttons there are 2 more screws inside the little hole where the switches were -the latch at the beginning you want to push the plastic instead of the latch
@@ilhambintang7547 ionno honestly could try hair dryer to loosen up but if that don't work go in with a scalpel and sacrifice a little bit of the side isolation just be careful it's thin asf
The mouse is very good overall. However, both of my switches are double clicking now and I have to replace them. I wasn't expecting this. Also I had to modify the chasis to suit my hand better, it's slippery on the long run. Old g7 mouses had better shape.
For people who have issues with clicking and dragging (e.g. icons dropping while the button is technically still clicked), if cleaning doesn't help try lowering the report rate in Logitech's Gaming Software to 250 even 125.
The right click of my G305 was not working properly. I fixed it disconnecting it from the board and connecting it again. Sadly, after removing the mouse feet in order to access the screws you will have worse gliding experience, since it gets a little bit damaged.
Guys unless it's broken and you're trying to fix it, don't tear it down. It literally requires too much force to open and will never be put back together again as it's brand new. I opened it to do some stupid mod i found on reddit and now i turned it to a squeaky mess even if i undo the mod (before this process mouse was feeling rock solid). The screws and the shell are tightened with a special force in factory. And if you try to open it the risk of messing up it's tightness is almost inevitable and probably every part of it will start to squeak or crack. Now i'm just waiting for my mouse to die so i can get a new one cause i can't enjoy using it anymore, it's so squeaky.
The tucked in cables from the clicks were the enemy on my model. Literally had to bend the plastic a bit because the cables were tucked so tightly into it and I didnt wanna damage the cables
What is the size of the screwdriver for the pcb screws and the ones that hold the mouse clicks? I started to open it but I could only remove the first 4 that are under the sliders and the others were smaller and I want to know the size to buy a screwdriver. Thank you
Helped me a lot, but I should had watched whole vid before taking down my mouse lol Didn't realize the battery housing can also be torn down, which makes it way easier accessing the micro switch.
My scroll wheel keeps activating randomly. I used a can of air and that worked for a while. Is it possible I tear this down and find dirt/hair and remove it I'm good? Sigh. Annoying cause I've only had it a couple months.
Hey so I have this mouse and one of my mouse buttons just propped up and theres a lot of distance between it and the base of the mouse, making my cps lower. any way I can get the button back to it's normal height?
thanks. I tried to do the triple a battery mod with the tin foil and a small piece of tinfoil got inside the mouse and has been rattling inside. better now
they are original from my observation. if you're gonna replace them, get some kalih switches instead of garbage omrons, and all you need to do is desolder the old one and put the new one on. but if you're gonna do one switch, it can't hurt to do them all so you don't have to do it for a long time.
this is great. have opened my G304 about 3-5 times but haven't remove the battery area part. I'm currently having a problem where the mouse turns off sometimes, especially if you bumped it a little hard (on the keyboard or the desk itself). Upon checking, trying to move the battery while mouse is on, it sometimes turns off. So a little electrical problem? I would have to check the wirings. Hopefully something that can be fixed without re-soldering because I don't have the tools. If you have any suggestion, I would appreciate it. :)
You can find cheap solder kits with everything you need, I can assure you, it's worth buying. You never know when you need them, but when you do you'll be happy you bought them !
try scrubbing some vinegar+baking soda on the contacts with a cotton swab first. it will eat off any corrosion which could be causing the battery to become unreliable. if the battery feels loose, put some tin toil at the end of the slot to make up for the space
wish anyone could help. i lost my dongle a couple of years back, was wondering if theres a replacement for its pvc chip that comes with its own receiver ? i tried contacting logi support but unfortunately they cant provide any replacement since the dongle is unique only to its unit. or make it wired i guess i dont mind so just i could use it again as a back up mouse. i was really hoping to encounter a thread where they discuss this nerdy mod.
@@bosiorne2292 G304/G305 ? i already contacted them and sent the details but unfortunately they can't ship here in the Philippines. theres also a similar case but they were sent a new unit instead, i dont think another dongle would work

That's the reason why the middle click is so mushy
