I like Faramir's character because he is not the most important guy in the story, but he does his job the best that he can, and to him, whatever part he is to play, he does with all his wits and loyalty. He's noble, and I think he has a great personality. He has pretty eyes too.
Faramir's character was VERY important to the story. He did not have the same appetite for the ring as his brother or father did. He was not seduced by it. He disregarded the ring like it was nothing. And then proved his quality by leaving Frodo and Sam, go.
@@sauronbaggins1833 Faramir was also an intellectual and almost wizard-like, although we don't see it in the movies. He and Gandalf were very close and Denethor resented that, calling him "a wizard's pupil" if memory serves me. Ironically, Faramir was a lot more like Denethor than Boromir, but I mean the book Denethor because the film Denethor was quite changed to fit a more villainous role.
I love his voice. It captures your attention before even looking at the face. It's so versatile, in a sense that his voiceover/narration could fit well with a hero's, villian's or neutral (a narrator in 300) character. I could listen to him speak for hours on end, and I would not be bored
I'm a girl, I write fantasy stories and this guy is one of my muses. And I really love the character that I could create based on him. Love you David ❤
Very noble and honest, despite the terrible father and the fall of his brother boromir, he, faramir is right and keep doing the right things and is not Vanidoso, is a wonderful character , enchanted and beautiful

"Peter Jackson took one of my favorite characters (a favorite I'm sure I share with many others) and very nearly ruined him. Thank God he got Faramir's role in The Return of the King right for the most part. I love many things about the films, and David Wenham is a fine actor who did quite well despite the script; however, the Faramir of the films is not one of the parts I love. Nor, for that matter, would Tolkien himself."

Impossible not to like Faramir, Tolkien said that of all the characters in middle earth he liked Faramir best.
Where does it say he said that?

And Eowyn was his fave fem character. Tolkien was once quoted that out of all his characters that it was these two that deserved the happy ending!!

Definitely. Faramir and Samwise were Tolkien's favorite characters.

Mine - Faramir, Sam, Eowyn and Aragon
When I first read LOTR, I sort of fell in love with Faramir. He was my fave character.

Meeeee tooooo 😊😊😊
Yes his voice is very good good tone good spoken
Yeah and it's no wonder they used him and his voice to narrate the 300 as well, just perfect!! 😍
@@Allannah_Of_Rometotally agree. He has an amazing voice and he's very easy on the eyes.

Van Helsing brought me here. This guy is a good actor, I like the way he plays his parts, seems like he might be a good guy in real life also.

Towards the end of this interview Wenham seems to be in love with Peter Jackson
And a fine thing that is. We should all aspire to so openly and unashamedly love those around us.
