I never really understand why people make films about topics like human evolution without understanding how it even works. We didn't evolve from Neanderthals, they diverged from the modern human's evolutionary path and became their own type of species (they actually comprised many species). It's kind of like how we didnt evolve from monkeys, we evolved adjacent to them from a common ancestor.
