- STUNNING REPLICA HISTORIC AIRCRAFT !!! MICROACES - MAKING HISTORY
AVAILABLE HERE: www.microaces.com
Jon Porter, Director of Microaces, gives us an introduction to his range of unique depron foam sheet constructed micro radio controlled historic model aircraft with the Bristol F.2b. These kits are as Jon describes a cross between a folded card model and an Airfix kit. It takes minimal skills to build one of these model aircraft if you follow the comprehensive instructions and guidance.
Microaces design and manufacture innovative model replica kits of historic aircraft that are of display quality BUT make exceptional flyers with the aid of micro radio control equipment.
Each kit closely resembles a specific aircraft that has earned its place in the Aviation Hall of Fame. Whether because of the daring pilot that flew it or because of its own reputation for magnificence.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, Microaces kits use modern materials, an advanced printing system and accurate laser cutting to make the components for each kit. This all combines to create a very lightweight, yet beautifully detailed scale aircraft that can be flown indoors and out.
Filmed by Dom Mitchell for the 'Essential RC' UA-cam channel using the Panasonic AG-UX180 Pro 4K camcorder at Wycombe Leisure Centre.

Since watching some of your videos the other day i have modified a gen 2 suhkoi to run 4s. This is the greatest hobby isnt it? You create these things of beauty and then risk everything for a few fleeting minutes of joy... Those are some gorgeous planes! Thanks
I build ww1 models of about that size, knowing how much work is involved to make it look like that, there is no way that I would risk trying to fly one, my hat is off to you,
That’s a little gem, alright. Off to the website to learn more...
WOW!! An absolutely SUPERB model!! 👍👏👏👏👏👏
We agree!
Beautiful little birds. I just placed an order.
Enjoy!

Hi. I was also there (HWDMAC member). I flew my Scrappee Liason. It was the maiden flight of my first Microaces model. It was great fun! We're having a club meet next week and I'm bringing limbo poles for the brave pilots to have a go at!
Cool. Dont hit the limbo poles ! 🤣
What do you think about your microaces model
@@wesbrackmanthercenthusiast4695 I had never considered building something this small or delicate. It was actually really good fun to build. It went together like an Airfix kit! The flight performance is great. I can get 15 minutes out of a 220mAH pack. It handles like a trainer (just as long as you make it slightly nose heavy). I had a few issues with fitting the battery but that was because I've got 220mah packs and they don't fit in the space that the 140's do. I've since made 3D printed battery tray to fix this issue:- www.thingiverse.com/search?q=scrappee&dwh=905e6e127c8e977 Here's a link to us flying around my 360 camera (Two scrappees and an SE5a) ua-cam.com/video/Xj9rc2Z2Qjw/v-deo.html
@@Chilternflyer thank you
I was there, my video is still in the post-edit but it'll be up in the next day or two. Great to meet you Dom and to finally meet Jon as well. The whole evening was a total blast!
It was a bit good Cliff. Great to meet you. Lets hope we can do it again in the not too distant future. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
@@EssentialRC Cheers Dom, it was good to meet the 'master' as well, great interview with Jon but are you going to do a follow video of some of the flying?
@@CliffHarveyRCPlanes Yeah, will publish vid of the Microaces float plane tomorrow and a compilation of all the other Microaces aircraft flying will follow in a few days when I've had some time to edit it together.
@@EssentialRC Fantastic, editing takes a while I know 🙂
Thats a magnificent little model.
That’s a nice model plane good job on the paint job
Stunning
PERFEITO AIRPLANE, BRASIL OK.
very beautiful
100% agree. I've known about these kits for a while and it was great to get the perfect opportunity to film them in action. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
I think I figured out how to get one of those models from that indoor show in Gem cant spell it ! You not it a Great Event
☺😊😀😁😂5 smile's got a set on the range looks like a nice toy range not for wind use but worth a look 😮. Wonder if they did a heavier weight category???
If you wanted to know the aircraft in the Microaces that could best deal with light wind I suspect Jon Porter could help you with that. Just ping him an email or message over facebook. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
I have hassel with making wings that small with a real airfoil. Is the micro war bird's wings just a foam sheet or really has an airfoil? Also what kind of foam is it? EPS foam? I would really appreciate any answer.
Yes, the wings have an airfoil. I built a Microaces SE5a 2 years back and the thin depron wing part is curved over a number of ribs to achieved the required profile. Hope that helps. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
Worth having a look at build instructions for one of the kits to see what I mean. Find them here, microaces.com/pages/instructions
@@EssentialRC Wow! Those are excellent instructions! Now I know. it is depron foam. I was searching for information about EPS foam. Still don't know the difference between the two foam. Thank you so much!
EPS is like polystyrene. It breaks apart and crumbles. Depron tends to tear which makes it far easier to repair.
@@EssentialRC Wow that's an important thing to know. Thank you! Can dupron foam be cut in a foam cutting machine like normal size RC wings? I want to cut micro wings(28 cm wingspan) from a single piece of foam with curving airfoil on the upper size. Then I will fiberglass coat the wings myself. But I asked a local foam-wings maker and he is reluctant to use dupron foam on his cutting machine. It's like he never do it before.
Love them all!
Who was that handsome bearded bloke in the background? 😎😉 many thanks to HWDMAC and Microaces for hosting the evening, it was a real treat to get to fly somewhere indoors with that much space! well worth the trip up from Somerset and good to see Jon Porter in person again and also meeting Dom! now which kit am i going to get next? 😁😁😁
Really was an excellent evening and great to see so many of Jon's creations flying. Hope we can all do it again soon. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
Hi can anybody help with the rigging on these aircraft I've got the albatross and the rigging is damaged does anybody know where I can get some more ??
Ask Microaces what he uses
What is the flying time ??
Is your product available here in the Philippines ?
Order from UK and it would be delivered to the Philiippines. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
Great model...... but what’s happening with the SR71? It’s been too long without an update
Other priorities and it's a rainy day project. I'll get back to it in the future.
If you crash that. Oh dear
You sold an airplane to the US.
Is that a question?
0.00005% scale :)
In india it very difficult these micro planes also as does like the aeromoldelling hobby so we are struck in medival aera
Didn't understand that. Difficult why?!
Sir it banned to fly planes in india if caught you go to jail
As two americans/british were arrested for flying drones near sensitive area in delhi
I am unable to fly these model for the fear of going to jail without bail
I've seen Facebook posts about RC events in India so can't be THAT bad. Find an RC club.
