Great video as always, super helpful, liked and subscribed a while back!👍 Want to report, I did this 9 months ago in the upper Rockies through all weather conditions including a week or more total of -15°F weather and this has worked flawlessly since then! The only thing I "did different" was use J-B MarineWeld b/c I had a bunch left over from various other projects. Thanks for another great tutorial!
Hey Peter!…thanks man, I appreciate that!…and thanks for the feedback on it, it’s great to know it’s working so well for just about everyone who has done it…especially in your conditions!
Sweet!!! Great info! I’m getting the TRD pro grill but the one without the TSS Mount on the bottom and I was looking for ideas on how to still be able to utilize my sensor and this is perfect info! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing. Just did this to my tundra with an 8” Readylift. Tried relocation brackets and other techniques nothing seemed to work. Fingers crossed no issues so far. Will keep posted.
No prob, thanks for checking it out Vinnie!…yea if you don’t mind, let me know if ya have any trouble…so far I haven’t had any of my viewers report any issues, and mine has worked perfectly…interested to see if you get any errors with that 8” lift!
I was excited when you said it can work with any setup, but it won't work with my ARB Summit winch bumper. You need to cut the bottom of the grille away for winch clearance. Besides that, great idea and thanks for the good info!
Thank you!!...yea I didn’t think about aftermarket bumpers that stick up like that...that’s just about the only thing it won’t work with, thanks for watching man!
No issues at all, the TSS works perfectly!…many of my viewers have done this after seeing the video and I haven’t heard anyone say they’ve had issues, it’s a great alternative to aftermarket brackets!…hope that helps!
Did you have to make it somewhat water resistant? I managed to relocate mine and it worked for 2 days til I started getting an error. I may have to sand the plastic like you did
Instead of removing the clip, is there any reason this wouldn't work by just moving the sensor over one one side or the other of that clip and fastening it to the surround the same way? Does it have to be exactly centerline on the truck? Or would the curvature of the surround point it off to the side if you did that? Just trying to see if this can be done without hacking up the grill surround. If it must, it must, I just have a hard time cutting up my new truck, even if it will never be seen... I'll still know its there. Instead of
Yea that I’m not sure of...I thought about doing exactly that, but wasn’t even sure it would work at all so kept it in the middle to give me the best shot...haha...I mean I don’t see any reason it should throw it off all that much, but can’t say for certain..you could always temporarily mount it to the side and give it a week or 2 to see, if you don’t get any error messages than permanently mount it like I did...keep me posted on how ya make out!
Good idea. Think I might have to try this. I just put the older 2017 TRD pro grill on my new 2021 SR5 and of course getting the standard PCS errors. Even with the AJT bracket I'm still having issues so I just made myself an "adjustable relocation bracket for my relocation bracket" haha. I'm trying to dial in the correct angle now but I have to drive it for a while to confirm the PCS light doesn't return. Did you worry that you couldn't adjust with the quick steel? Or did you test ahead of attaching with the quick steel? I'm just worried about attaching like that without being able to adjust angle or remove and replace in future. Did you have any of those concerns? Also do you have a lift and if so how much? Thank you!
Thanks Mike!…yes sir, I’m running the 4/2 ReadyLift SST sitting on 35’s, so I’m up a few inches total…and I actually used duct tape to secure it in that location for a couple weeks before securing it with the quick steel….still going strong with no issues at all, and I’ve had several viewers do it as well with no problems!
@@NitroZ18Fishing Do you have any idea how close to stock height you are? By that I mean comparing the higher stock logo sensor location and your new lower surround location. I'm guess they are close to the same if you lifted. What about the angle of the sensor? Did you do anything special there or just went with the lowest most center spot? I'm trying hard to figure out a way to do this but make the sensor part somehow remove-able but I'm struggling. Have you seen anyone with a good similar solution yet?
Yea I didn’t worry about the angle, I just picked the center most spot and so far so good, literally haven’t had one error code in all this time…I’m sure you could mount it in this location with something other than the quick steel, but my viewers who have done this have followed what I did (as far as I know)…where there’s a will there’s a way!…hahaha
Did you have to have the TSS system recalibrated at a dealership after moving it? How has it been running in that location not that it’s been over a year? Any issues or updates?
Glad to see it's working without cutting the grille. I was thinking maybe you mount it with industrial strength velcro in place of epoxy. How do you remove epoxy if it stops working? Does no error mean it is for sure working? Have you tried putting a pedestrian in front of you to make sure it is working?
Yes sir, all features are working as they should!...I’ve tested out the adaptive cruise control, lane departure, and it definitely yells at me if I don’t brake with something in front of me...lol...and if you ever have to remove the epoxy you can actually use dremel or something similar to cut it out as well...it’s solid as a rock but can be removed if needed!...thanks for watching!
Anyone have issues mounting it in this location? My TSS is giving me a malfunction reading mounted in the location of this video. Any suggestions to correct this?
Yea I unfortunately see that somewhat frequently, the aftermarket brackets don’t work for a lot of people!...this is still working like a charm, no issues at all!

What if you didn't need to cut that middle piece off and if you just put it next to it would it still have worked?
I considered doing that but I didn’t wanna take any chances with it not being centered…it may work, if ya do it let us know!
Forgive my ignorance but the sensor works thru the plastic? If so then can I mount it behind the new emblem on my new grill???
So the Sensor can see thru the plastic??? If so, can it be mounted behind the new emblem, on the new grill, using epoxy.
@NitroZ18Fishing does the signal got through the surround ?

How did you recalibrate the sensor so the cruise will work ?
I didn't have to, everything worked perfectly!
Did you have to make it somewhat water resistant? I managed to relocate mine and it worked for 2 days til I started getting an error. I may have to sand the plastic like you did
Hey Janncenn!…I didn’t, all I did was exactly what I showed in video and it’s still working perfectly to this day…let me know how ya make out!
Where did you mount the TSS receiver I see where the sensor mounted but where is the sensor single reader mounted
The sensor is the only thing that needs to be moved, everything else is in same place...hope that helps!

How is it holding up today? Are you getting any error messages?

If I remember correctly, I did…just helps with resetting the sensor with no issues…hope that helps!
I wonder if it'll work on a chrome surround.
I don’t see why not, maybe someone can chime in if they do it!
What about a 4inch lift? I'm getting error messages as well?
That’s actually the lift I have, I’m running a 4/2 ReadyLift SST, sensor has worked flawlessly
