    Joke about the custom Losi YETI cup aside... thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. It is great to see dealers not only holding the secret but then using the announcement and their experience with the rest of the world! Thank you!

    My solid 1/4 scale SkyRC SR5 is still going strong 6 years after I bought it. The rider is more fragile than the LosI by the looks of it and it can't hold a wheelie at the flick of a switch but it runs great on 3s. I paid under £200 for it back then. This Losi bike looks great and has up to date features but is over £700 in the UK.
    With good throttle and steering management it's easy to turn very tight 3 foot circles with mine. My SR5 has little to no wobble at all and would compete with the 3 promo video bikes no problem. It looks a great product from LosI though and I wish them all the best, I'm sure they'll sell great in the US...👍

    Great presentation! I have to admit, I was a doubter on this when I first learned of it. It's really growing on me though.. Truly a game changer in the rc world. Thank goodness it wasn't TRX who came up with it.. oh right, someone else has to do it first for them to steal then patent it, trolls.
    Thank you for such an enlightening video!!

    I have a question about your time with it at launch. How did it look on the 1/8 scale track in the hands of capable pilots? Does it look like it really could race on those tracks?

    • @NankinHobby
      @NankinHobby  Рік тому

      Absolutely. I think there are some track elements that you would want to adjust - there were a couple of super tight turns immediately off of a jump, for example, that the bike couldn’t do as well as a buggy could. To be fair, a couple of the more skilled guys still were able to do those, but ideally you’d want it to flow a bit better.
      You’d want a track layout that had motorcycles in mind, but that track could certainly also be appropriate for 1/8 buggies. There are almost certainly existing tracks that this would kill on, too. Some layouts will just be better than others.

      @@NankinHobby Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. It’s appreciated. It’s so hard to tell from the few videos that are out there at the moment. I get the few that have them have been asked to stay off tracks until release. I can’t wait to get my preorder in! Thanks again.

    • @NankinHobby
      @NankinHobby  Рік тому +4

      The version at $599.99 includes battery and charger, which is a pretty good value. Honestly, that’s in the standard price range for car releases these days, and with the amount of effort that went into development on this compared to most cars, it seems like a super good price. I wouldn’t bank on the price going down over time, at least not significantly.

    You speak as a person with very little skill experience of RC bikes. Having raced 1/5 superbikes if the bike is on the scratch bars its user error. Mostly trying to use the steering to turn and not the throttle. having a front disk has always been the norm only not in stock class because they were banned my superbike would lift the rear wheel at the end of the straight once the tyres were warmed up. Horizon have done what they do removed all the skill so anyone can use it.

    • @NankinHobby
      @NankinHobby  Рік тому +1

      Anyone should be able to use it! Room for skill expression is important in a hobby, so the ceiling should be high, and a skilled driver is still going to be able to do more with this than a novice. If the skill floor is too high, though, very few people ever have the positive initial experiences necessary to want to develop their skill.
      It’s maybe worthwhile to be concerned if the skill cap is being lowered, but if the skill required for entry is being lowered, that can only be good for the Hobby.

      i agree i also have been racing rc superbike for years there are plenty of good rc bikes out there and there not as hard as ppl say just takes a little more time to get use to driving them .as for dirt bikes here are good bikes out there aswell .not sure what hes talking about someone like him should really know more.

      @@dbirds21 I've had Ricky bikes .arx bikes Anderson bikes and venom (in dirt bikes)all good when set up right .in saying that they all have there flaws and limits especially if your trying to get stupid speeds out of them etc . But if this bike does what it says then yes it will be better than the rest and easier for beginners to use but that's not saying there are no other good bikes out there .remember alot of these other bikes are 15 to 20 plus years old . Same can be said for onroad bikes you can't compare a thunder tiger fm1e to a bk3r RG super bike but that's not to say a thunder tiger is no good .I've designed and 3d printed my own onroad bike and it drives really well but it's no RG. I hope this Losi is an awesome bike and it gets alot more ppl into RC bikes I have one on order myself . Alot of ppl just saying there are no good bikes don't seem to have done any research to see what's out there. these days there's alot of different bikes and brands on and off road around .and alot of ppl give it a 5min go and say bikes are no good .I've seen alot of ppl try and not even know you have to counter steer the bike and basically let go of steering and use brake and throttle to control the lean/turn and give up and say the bike doesn't work

The main difference I see is I was controlling it and not spektrum. It's mostly a shelf queen now as no parts available but will get a run when my mate gets the Losi to film a comparison.

      @NankinHobby  Рік тому +1

      That timestamp is largely an opinion-based statement, and it’s maybe a bit hyperbolic, but I’ll stand by it. RC motorcycles haven’t traditionally been the sort of experience someone expects when compared with RC cars and trucks. If you’ve had fun with them, that’s awesome - you’ll enjoy the Promoto-MX even more!

    • @mark675
      @mark675 Рік тому +2

      @@NankinHobby I just think rc bikes especially the superbike types are sort of in the same category as helicopters, people are either no good at using them or fail in setting them up properly, both are critical in how good they run, the amount of times I've heard "they dont even keep upright and flop side to side" to then find out they either had the steering mounted rigid or hadn't reversed the steering 🤦‍♂️
      "They've a massive turning radius" to find out they're steering it like a car 🤦‍♂️
      Hearing people bad mouth the models cus of their own failings is rather annoying.
      All models can be improved and this is basically the next step up from something like an sr5 which was released years ago.
      Anyway It looks like a great model from Losi and hopefully everyone has lots of fun with it 🙂
