TMZ invited me on to get my thoughts about the recent mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton and to discuss the 2nd Amendment. It’s clear from the video that “Assault Rifles” are going to be a main talking about during the 2020 election and continues to be a talking point in the media as a whole. The main thing I took away from this conversation was that the idea of Assault weapon and Semi-Automatic guns are lost on a-lot of the people on the anti-side of the debate. Further, too many on that side believe the Second Amendment is a disposable constitutional right.

His being an attorney shows how truly disingenuous Harvey is because he’s had the education to know what he saying is false and doesn’t care if he’s trampling on people’s rights. It was stunning how fast they backed away from that! SCOTUS could not possibly sustain the Constitutionality of any law that banned a firearm because it had semi-automatic action. Since that is the mechanism that operates most of all firearms in the world, there is no other criteria other than cosmetic, that determines what a fictitious assault weapon actually is.

Oh my gosh there is nothing more aggravating than people attacking you on your positions, bombarding you with questions and scenarios, and then interrupting you before you can actually make a point or respond to a question. The second you were able to say something smart about all of these topics, they immediately switched up, interrupted you, and moved on with the next question. Oh, and thank you Colion for clarifying with the second amendment is the only one that specifically cannot be removed like they did to the prohibition laws and amendments. I've always wondered why the 2A was especially irremovable, but I stupidly didn't think to really analyze the last line. SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

I noticed the change as well. Then when he compared taking away rights in the first amendment they could not see the correlation. So in other words they are saying don't infringe upon my right to freedom of speech, but yet it is okay to infringe upon your right to keep and bear arms. And no there are no restrictions on what type of weapons. I have to laugh everytime someone goes straight to, "well you should be able to own a cannon, or a tank, or a nuclear weapon. I have never heard one reasonable person say that anyone should be able to own any one of them. And criminals are criminals plain and simple, they are not going to abide by the law.

Where the shooters couldn’t pass background checks, they stole guns. Others passed the background checks before they did it. There isn’t any of the proposed laws that would have prevented any of the shootings were told we needed these laws to stop them from happening. I’ve heard that the Bump Stock Ban would have stopped the shooting in Las Vegas. Maybe. Unless he knew that you get the same action from a rubber band around the trigger guard.

Look at that anime studio in japan that was attacked. He torched the place with some gas and a flame with many deaths. Or look at the cult in japan that is still active who did mass attacks in the Japanese transit system with nerve gas made in apartments. Personally I rather everyone be armed with guns because you are much saver with a laymen with a gun than a laymen with a knife. How about this scenario, Take some filled gas cans and put them outside of the doors of a school then while riding a skateboard when people are in class start dumping them in the hallways switching to full ones at the hidden cans just outside then light a match. That would cause soo many more deaths than a school being shot up with guns. You won't be able to make a flammable liquid and a match against the law.
The alternatives are much worse.

That was the point I was waiting for. Bad guys pick AR-15's because they want to feel like a badass, the type that's glorified in movies, they want to inflate their delicate ego to feel like Rambo (when they're actually a coward killing innocent, unarmed people). Take away the AR-15, I'll cut to the chase, you can kill helpless, unarmed people en masse with a revolver and a bit of practice, hell you can do it with a break-action, single shot shotgun and a pistol on your hip to grab if someone gets the nerve to rush you. You can also make a flamethrower, you can make explosives, you can run people over with a truck, as we've seen happen a bit more, I've yet to hear anyone say ban motor vehicles.

Good Lord, please use critical thinking skills if you have any at all. No, "well regulated" means that they had everything necessary to fight a war, if needed. The militia was, and still is, your average citizen. And no, there is no limit on what you could own. There are letters to the original drafters of the bill of rights asking if cannons were allowed on their ships and the response was "of course." Please, do some research on the subject before you act like an expert. There are hours upon hours of material to support this. You used to be able to own real "assault weapons" before the gangsters ruined that for everyone. The only reason you can't own these things now is because the 2nd amendment has, in fact, been infringed.

(5g is suppose to fix all that) It happens on the news all the time. That's why sometimes you don't see the anchorman/woman respond for up to 5 seconds. Now whether there was lag here or not, I don't know. But there could have been, and that would just make them seem to be talking over each other even more.

To be fair, a person shouldn't HAVE to know about guns in order to be respectful or to listen and learn a thing or two. All it takes is some elementary common sense to realize that infringing upon our gun rights would be ineffective in the short term and potentially disasterous in the long term.

The funny thing is that these leftists seem to think that pistols are harmless... even though the majority of firearm homicides committed in the U.S. are carried out with pistols. I'd go as far as to say that pistols are definitely responsible for the overwhelming majority of all firearm deaths in the U.S., since it's a bit harder to commit suicide with a long gun.

AKDuck, we do agree. My contention was more with Danes, however, I do understand where he is coming from. Colion was trying to explain the difference between an assault rifle and a semiautomatic rifle. Harvey and his co-host (who's name evades me right now) were not understanding the difference, which made communication difficult. Back to my original point, if they would just listen to one another, maybe some of this could've been cleared up. Then again, considering the audience, maybe not.

Made late on response, but It was hilarious when he said all modern guns are semi auto & they went to mental health being a falsehood for gun violence (lol). Then they try to make point that assualt rifles shoot faster then pistols (semi auto)...ppl so missed informed and dont want to be informed.
Plus, if you could ban all semi automatic rifles in their ideal world, would a mentally I'll person then resort to bolt action rifles? Then bolt action rifles would become the most deadly firearm and used in more killings than anything else. Ban those and we would be left with si gle shot .22s or single shot shotguns. They would become the new deadliest weapon in America. Ban those and what are you left with?

Scenario:
All semi-automatic guns are banned in the US. Even your grandpappys old revolver from 1926 (made up a year). Law abiding citizens (some) turn in their weapons. Some do not, criminals never do.
Someone has an old bolt action rifle with a 7 round magizene. They enter a facility (let’s not make this too dramatic). No one in that facility is armed or ready.
This person takes a shot killing one. Pulls the bolt back and reloads. No one challenges the person with the rifle. This continues on until all seven shots are fired. When out, they simply brought a second mag and reloaded. Killing a total of 36 people after two hours.
Ban all guns now? Or did the human element change when semi-autos were banned?

I would definitely agree that more than half of the people who want to ban more and more guns are either influenced by the mainstream media (particularly left leaning) or simply don't have knowledge of gun crime statistics, knowledge, etc.
