    This reminds me of a time while in Lagos a Yoruba own school is not teaching Yoruba but a school near King Sunny Ade's house in Bariga was teaching their pupils Yoruba it's own by a Philippine.
    Shame on to parents who taught their children not to speak in vernacular.
    God bless me even my little boy can speak my language Yoruba

      Actually, if you read history, Hispanics, Indians (South Asians) and African Americans have a shared history of facing discrimination. During the Jim Crow era, The three groups lived in the “colored neighborhood” a segregated away from white neighborhoods, studied in black schools (HBCU), stayed in colored areas in establishments, occupied colored seating in transport, used the colored fountains, entered and exited buildings through colored entrances.

      @@charlesohikhuare1806 get what he is trying to point out. These days Yoruba parents don't speak Yoruba to their kids and they don't want them to speak it. There was even a time in a PTA meeting that the school told parents they want to start taking Yoruba subject serious so that the kids would understand their language, a Yoruba mother stood up and objected that they should never teach her own kids Yoruba. It has nothing to do with inferiority complex, most Yoruba's don't love their language, let those that love it enjoy it.

      It doesn’t mean that they should embrace the narrow prism of tribalism before that is acknowledged!

    In as much as this is impressive, it's not an idea to encourage. These indians are leaving in Nigeria but have a school only their children and no mixing with Nigerian children in the school and we see as a good attitude. They're paying Nigerian teachers to teach their children Nigerian culture but no full integration into Nigerian culture and we see it as a good thing, okay o.

    Plz someone should tell me who sang that their entrance song, I used to sing, dance and watch the song in our block and white colored TV back in late 80s.
