These long runs is a Mike Stoops trademark, no matter how much the great offense scored that Stoops would make stupid defensive plays to destroy it. They finally got rid of him after losing at least 3 championships. Just a Defense falling apart and nobody noticed.
Only 5 comments in 7 years and 17k views!! I love going back and watching old games like this, but I hate watching our defense give up big plays all the time. Has been an issue for a long time now. Almost anytime we have an opponent held to third and longer than ten (like 3rd and 15 or longer) it seems like we almost always give it up for a first down... Hoping coach Venables will reignite the fire under our defense. Excited to see what Venables will bring to the program this year.
I couldn’t agree with you anymore! Everything you said is spot on. I think BV is the right coach for OU right now. Going into the SEC, we gotta have a coach who isn’t afraid to play real teams. Every week. Much better off without LR in my opinion. Boomer Sooner!

Oklahoma and Notre Dame had some great games and ND broke their 47 game winning streak. ND is my favorite team next to Oklahoma
