I have a pro tip for shoe sizing. I worked in shoe design and production. ALWAYS, when measuring anybody, have them stand PARALLEL, feet next to each other. in the sizer. (Frequently the foot not being measured in the device is stepped back). Standing parallel puts the weight equally distributed and you not only get a much clearer and more accurate read on the length, but it often changes the width entirely. People naturally step one foot forward, you will have to correct it.... almost every time. Most stores measure incorrectly ...so if someone else is measuring ....correct it yourself or tell your kid. You can say you had a fried who worked in shoe production who told you to do it
Thank you, but it’s really sad the show manufacturers no longer make varying widths. I was a DD width when young. Now am a 7E. Most shoes are B width, lucky if C.
When I was little, my mom would tell me I was the “toast master” and that I made the best toast in the world and looking back it really made me feel confident 😂 also…..I made me make my own breakfast, so killed two birds with 1 stone.
I was the sandwich master 😂 made sandwiches every morning for me and my 3 siblings for school and kindergarten 😂 my mum really understood parenting back then 😂
Yes! The "try again" do-over method works so good. The 6 year old I nannied for had seen a therapist who gave this tip. We said "Re-do" but same concept. Works so well to actually help avoid escalating conflicts and emotions. Over time she didn't many do-over and still maintained a great self-esteem. I feel like even adults could use this tip sometimes 🙋🏼♀️
I used the phrase "pardon?"...same concept. My children knew to try again or that they had forgotten "please" or "thank you. Manners make such a difference in this world. Teachers and others would always comment on my children's manners. "Pardon?" was their reminder.
Having grown up through neglect, I'm learning to be my own parent. Thank you Brittany 😁 You give so many great tips in general so I knew you were going to share good tips! Eg. Baby wipes tip could be used for cleaning wipes or face wipes. Taping the tips of markers together help me stay organized as a student. It's a lot easier and quicker to find the right colored highlighter.
That "state of hypnosis" info is super important. Please, please remember that it also applies to everything you say AROUND kids, not just directly to them, and to what entertainment they're watching or listening to. Those are messages you don't necessarily intend to implement or even realise you're implementing, but they're gonna stay with your kids for the rest of their lives on their subconscious.
I’m 23 and do not have kids yet, but I still love watching these videos! The more information I can slowly absorb and internalize now, the more confident and capable I think I will feel when the time comes. So just know that your younger audience enjoys and values these videos too! 😊
I absolutely LOVE ALL of your tips. My young mom years are over, wish there was a “try again” button lol But, I now am a mema and have 2 beautiful granddaughters so, thanks for the useful tips!!
I learned about how children are in a state of hypnosis until about age 7 a few years ago, which is why I try not to program negative things into their head like “you’re clumsy” or “you’re not good at that” and instead use positive affirmations toward them and is also why I am homeschooling. Also, I make sure what they watch doesn’t involve people being sassy to each other and treating each other poorly or things with victim mentality mindset like “why does this always happen to me.” You’d be surprised about what they put in these kid shows as entertainment. Thank you for the wonderful tips!!!
Also the "shopping challenges" I don't encourage my kids to watch those. Hope homeschooling is going good. I applaud you for doing that. I don't have the patience.
My favorite is the transition one! Most always engaging with them and what they’re doing and getting their attention later that way has a positive impact on them! Another thing I’ve noticed is letting them know that there IS something to look forward to on the next thing we are doing, and the reason we are doing it. I always set a timer is there is any hesitation- I almost always have a debate about how ever many minutes they’ll get, but there is almost never any resistance and I hardly ever have to even set the timer, because there is always interest at that point and I respectfully gave enough time for the thing they wanted to do in the first place. If it’s tv, there almost always is a set limit before it even goes on so they know what to expect- they are extreme now about turning it off after one half hour show because they’re used to it! Keeping it fun and engaging with them right after a show is important too , so there isn’t a sudden urge for connection that you weren’t aware they needed!
Hi Brittany, thank you for the awsome hacks! 😃👍🏼 My son Hjalmar, soon to be 5, used to love breaking crayons into tiny bits too. I will definetly try the tapeing the caps together hack and also the transitioning thing. Have not done affirmations yet, but since Hjalmar learned till talk I never let him say ”I can’t” or ”it’s impossible” cause there is no such thing. Instead he learned to say: ”This takes a bit more time/effort/practice”. Really enjoy your content! ❤️ Carter is so cute! 🥰
2 boys- Ollie, 2.5 years & Theo, 4 months. These are perfect, thank you! & yes, please on picky eater tips!! I also love when you include the science behind things in your videos, I find it so interesting🤯
Love this video. "It's spicy" - Works for our 12 year old but the 7 year old LOVES spice... today I thought about a new option that I am going to try, - "it's sour" I am not sure if it will work but worth a try lol! YES the 10 minute miracle, though I have never heard of it before I have been practicing something similar for years, if my child is constantly asking questions/"interrupting" my work etc. I take a break, look them in the eyes and really listen and answer and spend time interacting, playing, talking or whatever. After 5-10 minutes we are usually good and I can go back to whatever I was doing. The 5 minute warning is really just good manners, - how would we feel if we were doing something interesting and our significant other came and insisted that we immediately come and do whatever (multiple times per day at that)? No as adults we say "when you are finished that.../when you have 5 minutes.../can we leave in 5 minutes?" etc. Why should we treat children any differently in that respect.
I have a three year old and a baby due in December. ALWAYS looking for kid and parenting hacks. It truly is one of the most rewarding yet most challenging jobs.
The daily affirmations is such a good idea. It brought tears to my eyes watching Carter do that. I have two babies - Emery is 2.5 years old, and Jamison is 6 weeks old 💜
I have a Jameson too, but he will be 30 at the end of the month and I tend his two little girls while parents work. Mom is a teacher and dad is a banker, I will be a better grandmother with these tips.
My daughters are 7 and 5 which means I started watching your videos since 2014 And now even more that you became a mother yourself. My fav channel hands down! 👌✨
I don't have children yet but my sister had a baby this year. His name is Ever and is about to be 6 months old. I love watching your videos to learn for myself and to share with my sister!
Thinking about the paw patrol mission thing, I think it'll be most likely to work long-term if you also mix it in fun activities, like run back and forth in a circle in the yard, or go down the slide A certain amount of times.
My daughter is Victoria Brooklyn, & she is 21. You have so much helpful information, and I wished I had known all these things way back then!!!!! Being a mom has been the hardest job in the entire world for me, but I still love her with all my heart!!!
Hey Brittany, I am a young mother of 1 year old and 4year old . I started watching your videos for Organization tips and tricks but I also love these type of videos. Watching your videos since 2016...
Please link the article about kids' minds being in kinda hypnosis state until the age of 6. This video is interesting and helpful even without any kids being around. Thank you very much!
I have two children almost the same age as yours (Awmi 4yrs & Everett 18 mths). I started following you just after Carter was born so I feel we have shared our mom journey. You are so RIGHT fullfilling, amazing, draining & challenging all at the same time!!
I have a niece named Madi that just turned 4. I watch her on a regular basis. Thanks for the tips because I don’t have children so this is all a learning experience for me.
My sister has 3, they're basically grown (20, 18, 15) but when they were little I had then as often as I could. We decorated cookies for Halloween and Christmas, had tea parties, did all kinds of crafts, I miss it. My husband and I tried to have children, but it just wasn't in the cards for us. But between my sisters 3 and my cousins 3, I've got to experience so much of the fun stuff. Another perk, other people's kids come with a manual where toy have to learn on your own when you have kids. My neice will be 16 in March, they grow up so fast.
Hello from France! I have 2 kids, Marie is nearly 3 years old an Léon is one and a half. It's very challenging! Organisation is everything. I loved your hacks, even if I already knew a few 😍 A couple of my hacks: Using musslin towels after the bath/pool. It dries so much better than the fluffy but chunky ones! And for the ones that dont want to go to bed: 1h strict bedtime routine. We do always the same, every day... just the stories we read change but the all over routine is the same. It helps so much!
I ask our kids (daughter, nieces, nephews) with a positive nickname. “Precious angel make sure your room is ready for me to see it”, sounds alot better than “go clean your pigsty”. The kids comply because how could your sweetie, snookums, genius, sweet boy, darling daughter, fancy girl, etc. ever say no to you. 😁
I agree. I've always called my son "darling child" (my DH calls me Loved One) and it does make a difference in attitude, esp when what follows is a request. "Bob the slob" or "Hannah the Hurricane" are not good nicknames. Brave Bob and Sweet Hannah will live up to their names. I originally learned this from Nancy Campbell at Above Rubies org....in fact, much of what Brittany shared I learned years ago from Nancy's CDs and free magazine. It's obvious that Britney is a good mother, which is one reason I enjoy her vids. I'm glad she's sharing this timeless advice with the younger mothers (and mom to be's).
Thank you for these tips. My kids are adults now but I work with children 5yrs and under and I inform moms of tips , hacks or anything that will make their family lives easier 😊
Hi Brittany 👋 I have 3 & 5 Year old boys Wade and Maxton. Loved this video so much! Can’t wait to start trying the “try again” method and Carters face when you told him there was a Paw Patrol mission and start cleaning was priceless! 👍
Hi Brittany- you asked: my children’s names are Steven & Stephanie. They’re 15 months apart and are now 38 & 39. 😂 All these ‘problem situations’ are long gone for me and I don’t have any grandchildren. But the hack with the wipes?…I’m thinking that might work with a tissue box as well.. I never miss one of you episodes because you are so driven, such an entrepreneur, and you have the most darling babies ever! Your mom is so blessed…oh and that adorable Ryan! Thank you so much!
I’m the Same Lol 😂, my children are 42 and 32, no Grandchildren, but love watching the tips Brittany gives for my future Grandbabies and my children, I loved the hair tie tip also and think we could use it on other items as well, not just for baby wipes. My boys names are Brendan and Aaron. Cheers from Queensland Australia 🇦🇺😊
@@TheKatherine1958 Hi, we must be the oldies hoping for the perfect Grandbabies once they come along with all Brittany’s tips and tricks on parenting Lol 😂…Well that’s Why I’m here, so I can pass on all this information to my DIL and Son, and put it in place when I have to babysit one day Lol 😂, they didn’t have all this when we had children, it was just fly by your pants on parenting lol 😂 and hope for the best. Cheers from Sunny Queensland 💝💝
@@-nellie-m3711 I’ve been watching Brittany since Carter was just a baby. I think he’s such a bright, beautiful child and then along comes Capri! Two gorgeous, smart children. Definitely a reflection of good parenting. I most likely won’t have any grandchildren for reasons I won’t go into but these two! What a blessing Ryan and Brittany’s moms have in them! 💜
Seriously, this video…. I can’t tell you how many “hack” videos I watch that are full of useless tips. I get that creators need content but it’s such a waste of time watching a video that just isn’t helpful. Your videos, like this one and so many others are so well thought out, researched and given in a quick comprehensive format. I can’t thank you enough for the time and effort you put in to making content that is worth watching and informative. Well done, and thank you.
Every single shoe store used to have a shoe measuring tool, in fact Department stores had 2, one for children and one for adults. Getting our feet measured was a big deal There were 4 of us and we competed for having the biggest foot! Of course as the only girl, they passed me, thank goodness.🙂
It’s the best hack video for kids . So relatable and so modest. I have been following you ever since I was pregnant. I honestly followed all your tips. My little girl, Harper is 3 now. And I literally was amazed at the spray sunscreen hack
My heartfelt comment is this. I am a 75 year old woman with 2 grown sons, whom I love with all my heart. I would give anything to have known these techniques for teaching children. -We did the best we knew how to. Thank you Brittany, I love your channel
My daughter Kendall just turned 2. She is allergic to dairy and along with that probably the pickiest eater I’ve ever seen. I do believe it’s more of a texture thing and I’m trying to learn different ways to get her to try new foods but have been really struggling lately!! I think I’m going to try thrive market!! Thank you for these videos they help SO much! 💕
I took an online assessment and Carter was a 9/10 picky eater so I took a course and he is so much better now! I will plan to do a video all on this topic because I know its very common
@@vasseurbeauty yesss 🙌🏼 that will be so helpful. I need all the tips and tricks I can get! Thank you for all the amazing videos you put out they are truly so helpful ❤️
Hi, Brittany! Thank you so much for your great content. My son, Maxfield, is almost 3. I'm definitely saving this video and will reference it. Thanks again!
your children are adorable. I have three 41,37 and 35 but i do have young grandchildren I enjoy watching your videos. Your husband is a trip... Your channel is informative and I come out with lots of knowledge about things.... keep up the good work brittany
Thank you so much! All very valuable hacks. Loved the jumbo crayons, going to try "Try it again!" and oh, its spicy :) Also a phrase relating to a special mission :). Bless you!
I don't have any kids but I have a two little brothers, eight and thirteen and a niece that is eight as well. These "hacks" are going to help me so much when I ask them to help on chores or help them with hard times. Thank you Brittany!
Great suggestions. However speaking from an OT therapist perspective those broken crayons are great things to have due to those small crayons facilitate age-appropriate grasp patterns.
I’m 24, no kids and probably will never have kids but I still LOVE your kids videos (along w all your other videos 😁) also Carter is the sweetest thing ever and you are an amazing mom 💓
Just ordered the kids foot measuring thing. I’ve needed one of these forever! Please do a video on picky eaters. My 8 year old recently had to see a dietician due to her picking eating. It’s frustrating bc I can’t force her to eat but she really needs protein and to gain a little weight. Every meal time is such a challenge.
Thank you Brittany!! My daughter is 4 and her name is Aubrey. We were pregnant at the same time and I have been following your content since then. You’ve been such a great help! Love you!
OMG YES PLEASE! Do a video on picky eaters! I would so much appreciate it! My almost 1 year old is giving me the hardest time! He’s getting more picky, he would only play with his food but not actually eat it and he wanna eat purées only, doesn’t wanna chew! HELP NEEDED 😭
My 8 year old walked on me watching this video just in time to hear the “it’s spicy” trick to not share food. She just gave me a stink eye, I tried to pause it fast but it was too late 😂
Both of my kids ate hot sauce from age one. They both crave spicy foods to this day at ages 28 and 12! I never got to use “it’s spicy” to my advantage. 😂
I have an almost 2 year old named Aurora. These tips were so helpful. Being a mom is such work but so rewarding. I’m ready to get started on baby #2 though!
I have 2 kids, Killian (1.5) and Ezra (3.5). I always use a timer with them. They seem a lot more willing to break their focus if I let them use a timer. And we so daily affirmations too! I haven’t heard of anyone else doing it with their young kids, but I think it’s so important to help build that positive inner voice!
Yes, please! I could use some picky eater tips! Mine turns 5 in the end of the month. He most often refuses to try out new foods. I’ve been learning so much on your channels here and on IG, so thank you! I would love to see more mom / parenting content! 💕
i'm not even old enough to be married, let alone have children, but your channel is so helpful because i'm studying to become a preschool teacher and the tips you share here and on your instagram are so helpful!
Wonderful tips! My girl is 4 and her name is River. I loved learning about their brain waves…such a short time to make such a huge impact on who they will become
Breakfast and mornings are SUCH a struggle around here. I can't wait to try the pancake "cupcakes"! Great tips on kid stuff!! My littles are Eva, almost 4 and Hudson, 18 months. And baby #3 on the way due in February!! I need all the hacks I can get. Love your channel!
Parenting (2.0). Ages 13, 11, 10. You are so on track with this video. I had forgotten some of this. Refresher course. I taught school for 30 yrs and so many of the suggestions to help shape a child and discipline a child are right here. I bet you know this one, Ryan does it. Kneel Down to face to face level with your child to explain or ask questions. You are their focus. Similar to distraction. I really enjoyed today's edition.
I have a 4 year old daughter. I love the try again idea. We typically say 'you need to ask nicely' when she's being a bit aggressive with requests (like snacks) but try again has more application for other scenarios where she may be temperamental.
Your contents are truly mindblowing and high quality. the amount of effort you put into each of your sentences can really be seen clearly, so glad that I have discovered you!!
Love ure video's Brittany ♥️♥️♥️ My daughter turns 4 years in November and literally I started to watch ur channel wen I was pregnant... I was so depressed back then and looked for some help ticks and tricks am so glad that I found an amazing UA-camr like u helped me a lot 👏👏👏
Yes please. Picky eating twins here. Mum of 4 boys good fun. We live in Australia, I love your channel and have been following you for a little while. Xx
Your parenting hack is the best part. It is by far the most useful content from you. Please keep it going. Intentional parenting equals better people out in the world tomorrow. Thank u so much. My child is 1 year old and my niece is 8 years old. Forwarding video to my sister
I don’t have kids but I’m a nanny so these hacks are helpful. I would love to see the picky eaters video - the 7 yr old babe I watch is SO picky!! Love your videos as always 💕
I have two little ones just like you🥰. William is 3yrs old and my baby girl, Zoey is 1 year old. I look forward to the “picky eater” content. I’ve learned so much over the years from your videos. Thank you!
Wonderful vid! Love it I always give warnings! My moms been in child development for 30+ years and thats what shes taught us, and it ALWAYS WORKS with my son and nieces and nephews!
I have 2 kids my daughter has just gone 12 she has been a bit of a pain at the moment trying to get her do anything i feel like i'm a parrot lol especially workhome and my son is going 3 but we think he may have autism ( diagnosis in November 🤞🏻) some days are challenging with him not talking its hard to know what he wants but he has come on leaps and bounds the past few months he is absolutely joy with his quirky personality i love them both to bits ❤ P.S i just wanted to say a big THANK YOU 💜 i have been watching your videos since I was pregnant with my son and you helped me through some dark time got me up motivated i'm starting to feel like me again 💜

I think so many moms struggle with this! I took a whole course on it and learned so much
Yes same
I agree. If I could learn a million tips to get my three boys under 4 years old to eat more than peanut butter and honey… I would try them all!
Mine 5 year old didn’t do this until 5! OR she acts like she’s hungry and then totally wastes it unless it’s covered in sugar 😫
It could be an anxiety thing

And I have a 17 yo daughter. 😂 I think I can engage more, and I’m definitely making pancake cupcakes!!
My son Liam is 3 yrs old. I’ve been watching you before the kids and you content has revolved so beautifully 😍
More more more!! I like that 10 minute and “try again” technique! I have a soon to be 9 month old names Keanu :)
My daughter is Victoria Brooklyn, & she is 21. You have so much helpful information, and I wished I had known all these things way back then!!!!! Being a mom has been the hardest job in the entire world for me, but I still love her with all my heart!!!
great tips! will definitely be implementing “try again” with my 4 year old Ian and 20 month old Shane.
I loved your hacks, even if I already knew a few 😍
A couple of my hacks: Using musslin towels after the bath/pool.
Oh my goodness!!! I love the “try again”!!!!! Thank you for this video! ❤️❤️❤️
All these ‘problem situations’ are long gone for me and I don’t have any grandchildren.
@@-nellie-m3711 hi Nellie! Greetings from north central California! 😊 🇺🇸
This is so wholesome thank you for sharing
Getting our feet measured was a big deal
There were 4 of us and we competed for having the biggest foot!
I have 3 boys, Marley 11, Jaxson 7 and Carter is almost 2. These are such useful and practical tips, thank you for sharing!!
I love their names! My boys are B's , silly I know.
I have a daughter named Kendall too! She came with a twin sister,Riley that looks identical to her! 😉😁
The sunscreen hack is one of the best suggestions and kids love being painted on!!! Thank you Brittany!!!
Hi, Brittany! Thank you so much for your great content. My son, Maxfield, is almost 3. I'm definitely saving this video and will reference it. Thanks again!
Say hi to Max for me!!
your children are adorable.
Yes, so true, my son's OT recommends this
My son, Connor, is 18 years old and I still enjoy watching your videos and learning new things!
18 and 15 and soooo wish I had you around when they were little! ❤
I’m 24, no kids and probably will never have kids but I still LOVE your kids videos (along w all your other videos 😁) also Carter is the sweetest thing ever and you are an amazing mom 💓
My son is almost 7mo old. Would love to see content on how to introduce security toy/blanket, sleep tricks 😊
My fav book on that subject was Good Night Sleep Tight. I must have read 40 Bks and that one worked!
Carter doing the affirmations melted my heart!
I'm with you, my son hasn't gained weight in a year and it can be so hard. Hugs to you and hope things get better!
Yes, please do a picky eater video!
Does she like smoothies? Easy way to get her all her nutrients and protein.
Thank you Brittany!! My daughter is 4 and her name is Aubrey. We were pregnant at the same time and I have been following your content since then. You’ve been such a great help! Love you!
Absolutely love your videos, saving to buy a dyson! 🤞🏼✨
Give her something spicy for real, then perhaps she wi believe you after that. 😁🙌🤣
Both of my kids ate hot sauce from age one. They both crave spicy foods to this day at ages 28 and 12! I never got to use “it’s spicy” to my advantage. 😂
@@monstermcboo7282 Same 🤣 my 2 year old keeps stealing my spicy chips and even chili powder candy lol
I have an almost 2 year old named Aurora. These tips were so helpful. Being a mom is such work but so rewarding. I’m ready to get started on baby #2 though!
Thanks for this! I will definitely try the “try again” approach for my 2 year old Oliver 😊
My kids are older, 21 and 18, but I still love watching!
Omg Carter’s affirmations 🥺🥺🥺🥺 that was so precious
This is one of the best parenting videos I’ve ever watched!! My kids are 3.5 and 6 months. Toddler is so sassy, these tips tomorrow!
Thank you for the "try again" tip and the affirmation. My kiddos are 6 years, 5 years, and my youngest is 7 months.
I have a 2 year old daughter. Would love to hear your tips for picky eaters, teaching manners and dealing with tantrums.
Fun!! My daughter is Nora and she is 2! I can always use help with picky eating and learning more about how her brain is working!!
Yes please! Make a video about picky eating 🙌🏻 My daughter is 2.5 and she only wants snacks 🙈
Your contents are truly mindblowing and high quality. the amount of effort you put into each of your sentences can really be seen clearly, so glad that I have discovered you!!
I have a 7 year old son and I loved every single hack you gave. Some I will put into practice for sure. Thank you 🙏

I have 5 kids but my little ones is 5 and 3 and I enjoy watching your videos. Would love to see more about picky eaters and what kind of snacks.
Thank you!
