As a fellow speedrunner of this game, let me commend just how spectacular this run is. Not only has Sceptify spent countless hours finding the best route and vehicles, his execution is also top notch. Of 13 speedrunners who have played this game, 7 of whom have finished it in under 2 hours, Sceptify's run is over SEVENTEEN minutes faster than the second place RTA time and over ELEVEN minutes faster than the second place IGT time. The times on many of the challenges in this run would place in the top 10 fastest times for that challenge, by anyone, ever. I am 6th place on the speedrun leaderboards, have about 250 hours of playtime on BK:NB, and many of the times for the challenges in this run *handily* beat my best *PRACTICE* times. In case it was not already clear how epic of a run this is, let me say that this is a truly masterful run of this game.
watched this in its entirety tonight since i felt like reliving my childhood. the builds you made specifically for levels was absolutely mindblowing. the amount of time and dedication taken must've been crazy. congrats on WR!
@@azzieboba he still makes content, just exclusively on his plays channel now, it’s a shame really. His main channel highlights were good Edit: correction, apparently the highlights are on his plays channel now.
This game gives the player an insane amount of freedom. I love seeing you take advantage of the physics in every way possible. I was awestruck by your masterful handling of the vehicles!
I just finished a replay thru of this game after not having touched it since 2009 and I was curious what a speedrun would look like.. I was not disappointed 😂 highly underrated game
People have been talking about the new vehicle assembly mechanics in the new zelda game, so banjo nuts and bolts is a game back on people's minds. It's interesting because most discourse around this game is people hating on it and saying they're worried that the new zelda is gonna be like this game lol. I wonder why this game is so hated, like it isn't that bad lol
The reason people didn’t like this game back in the day is because they teased it as playing like the old school Banjo games, but then it played nothing like them. This game isn’t bad, but what’s the point of the characters being Banjo and Kazooie? She exists to do what? Hold the wrench and nothing else? Banjo is a glorified semi driver on fetch quests. What made Banjo and Kazooie unique, was the move sets that this game kind of crapped on. Zelda having similar mechanics doesn’t change the fact that it’s still a Zelda game. The vehicles are a convenience, as opposed to mandatory. It reminds me of Mario Sunshine. They could have given that water mechanic to a new character, in that same setting, and the game would be as good. For me, since it’s Mario and you barely utilize his abilities, it makes it a worse Mario game.
@@garvensman I'm not entirely sure the sunshine argument makes sense. It is very much still a Mario game, it plays like a Mario game, you can jump, wall jump, slide, etc. . You could make this argument for any sequel that adds a core mechanic, but it still plays like the previous game with stuff taken away and added. Disliking either games for that reason is super petty, although Nuts and Bolts is very dissimilar to the previous games. Also, WAS it really shown as playing like the previous games? All the promotional material did show mostly vehicles. Now, the game does have several other issues, like being a little janky and having a lot of empty space, but still, many criticisms launched towards the game were more focused on the fact that it wasn't what they wanted. It still isn't a bad game, but to dislike either game for such trivial reasons is odd to me. Although yes, the characters don't play an especially huge role in Nuts and Bolts, as it doesn't play very closely to the og games at all, only being similar in title and nature as Collect-a-thons.
Car go yeet. Really though, I've never played this game, so I don't know a thing about it, but hey, at least it is one of banjo & kazooie's final hoorahs. With the exception of the most recent appearance in super smash bros. Ultimate. As far as I'm aware that's their most recent appearance. Also, I'd make a joke about kazooie's voice lines, but I can't think of anything "oregano."
Wild run, congrats! I've seen a number of impressive players use that asymmetrical folding wing layout. What's the benefit of having the wings like that? Does it help your turn radius?
This is a really good speedrun. I’d say my only complaint is that the music is muted (which is your call if you wanna do or not, it’s just weird hearing one of my favourite games without its nostalgic soundtrack to me is almost uncanny in a way). Hope you end up doing more speedruns in the future and get the time even lower
Here's an idea that should've been implemented into the game; every time you answer LOG's question incorrectly, five seconds will be added to the time as a penalty. That would motivate you to answer more questions correctly.
@@StarSoul24 Interesting, im going to have to try that next time im playing. Just finished watching the whole run, very impressive how fast you did it.
Are you allowed to use xenia to speedrun and submit runs? besides my PC all i got is a xbox 360 and nuts n bolts runs terrible on it, on PC using xenia i get a solid 60fps and quick loading times.
