    Quick version of Paul Weller's pop/jazz track. Ibanez AF95 through Logic. Used the Cool Jazz Combo setting with a few adjustments on the virtual amp. Apologies for video sync issue. It got off as I was editing and didn't feel like tryin' to fix. Some of the chords may not be the exact voicing-if you have some alternatives would love to hear that. Thanks for supporting the channel! #paulweller #traceythorn #benwatt

      Che Baroch Good cover, but Tracey Thorn’s version isn’t a patch on Weller’s.

    Oh the song is so beautiful! Reminds me of my first girl friend Peggy, we were in Paris 1986 and photographed for a Scottish newspaper, the headline was "Slushy and french like Sacha Distel"... :-) Wonderful time ... Paul Weller is my hero of youth. 🫶🏼

      Now that's how you memorialize a moment! More of us should be so lucky. ;) Weller is my role model as I get older...

    Loved that. Faithful to Tracy Thorn and Style Council original. Heard lots of really bad covers of that song, that's the best I've heard. Well done.

    Just found this today. This is so good. Thank you very much for posting the chord voicings too-you're a gentleman. I really like the solo you put in too so I'll be trying to learn that also. Cafe Bleu was one of my favourite albums back in the eighties. And a fan of Ben and Tracy too. Have a very good day.

    This is a fabulous version, you get the vocals just right with the prevalent air of melancholy, all topped off with a beautiful solo. And if that's not enough we get the chords too! thanks for posting.

    Hi, I'm trying to learn this song for myself, I'm not familiar with these chords at all and would really appreicate some chord diagrams. I've tried doing some googling but I dont know what I'm looking for! (btw love the cover, great job).

    would it be too much to ask for the chords?

    • @CheBaroch
      @CheBaroch  8 років тому +5

      You start off sliding into Bm7, then G#m7b5 (I start w the D octave then release into the chord), next part is Em7 I believe but I don't play the low B, followed by A13 (I play the high A there), Dmaj7, back to Bm7 (only the three bass notes), slide into Gm7b5, Am7b5, Gm7b5, Dmaj7, close verse with Bm7, A#7, Amaj7.
      Bridge is Gmaj7 to A/F#, C#m7b5, F#7, Dmaj7, Bm7b5, Bo7, Amaj7. I'm not good with chord names so I might have gotten some of those wrong but if you use this or original for reference I'm sure you'll have it easily enough. Thanks.
