    I'm an intermediate English learner.
    This video teaches me 'repetition is the key. so I watch and learn this again and again.
    Would you mind if I ask you a question?
    timing = 13:53.
    Me too! it's an exciting time for space exploration, and who knows, maybe one day, we'll get to visit these places ourselves.
    In this sentence the word 'ourselves' is a pronoun, in order to use as adverb-like, I suppose it'd need preposition 'by/for/etc in front of 'ourselves'. Please teach me whether it would be a colloquial expression/elision or etc.

      Your understanding is correct. In the sentence "Me too! it's an exciting time for space exploration, and who knows, maybe one day, we'll get to visit these places ourselves," the word "ourselves" is used as a reflexive pronoun. In this context, it refers back to the subject of the sentence ("we") and emphasizes that we might personally visit those places.
      You're right that sometimes adverbs or prepositional phrases can be added in front of reflexive pronouns for clarity or emphasis. For instance:
      "We'll get to visit these places by ourselves."
      "We'll get to visit these places for ourselves."
      Both of these versions are correct and can be used interchangeably. The addition of "by" or "for" before "ourselves" doesn't change the meaning significantly, but it can add a slight emphasis on the fact that the action is done independently or personally.
      Using "ourselves" with prepositions like this is not an elision but rather a way to emphasize the idea of doing something personally or independently. It's not considered overly formal or colloquial; rather, it adds a layer of nuance to the sentence.

      @@EnglishEasyPractice 様.
      Thank you for your detailed and devoted reply comment.
      I could comprehend clearly thanks to your teaching.
      timing = 17:38.
      'As I mentioned before we use "the question and answer method" repeatedly in a short story lessons'
      I would be activating this sentence actually to leverage to ask questions, from now on also. I appreciate your heartfelt efforts.

    There is no better option than reading a good book to improve language especially books like Alien from Earth by Sobers Rodrigues which are written in very beginner friendly language.

    "embrace the bots" what does that mean? bots?

    • @EnglishEasyPractice
      @EnglishEasyPractice  Рік тому

      "Embrace the bots" means to welcome and accept the use of robots or AI technologies in our lives. "Bots" is a shortened form of the word "robots" and is often used to refer to automated programs or machines that can perform tasks without human intervention.
      In the context of the funny conversation, "embrace the bots" is a playful way of suggesting that people should be open to using and integrating AI technologies into their daily lives, rather than being afraid of them. It emphasizes the positive aspects of AI and encourages a positive attitude toward technological advancements.
