Your channel mentioned you welcome specific project questions, so here goes:
I want to make a map of a city park that includes zoning and vegetation layers. I could add a features layer and draw polygons to create zones, I suppose. But I don't know how to make the vegetation layers. I have an excel sheet that contains a column for zones in the park and columns of percent coverage for things like invasive and native trees, shrubs, herbs, and vines. I would like each column to be a different layer for the map, but how do I make sure arcgis correctly connects the areas on the map with zones and then fills in the percentages accordingly? Thank you in advance!

Hi Laura, where are you located? If you are in the US most cities have existing GIS layers that would include zoning and possibly vegetation. I would recommend searching your city's website for GIS data rather than having to create the layer yourself. And yes, if you have the polygons mapped out you can have the program calculate areas and percentages. You might be able to create the polygon from looking at a satellite image of the park.

I know this you posted this video a long time ago and I'm a little late to the game, but hoping you can shed some light on this for me: I am trying to make a choropleth map on ArcGIS Pro. I have a table that I've uploaded using a query layer. I added the US Counties layer, and changed the symbology to "graduated colors." However, when choosing the "Field," the only options are the fields associated with the US Counties like "Population," "SQMI," "Males," "Females," etc. But I noticed your dropdown menu at this step included fields from your crime_table such as "MURDER" and "ROBBERY." How do I get my fields, the fields I want to use for the symbology, to be included in the dropdown menu?

My apologies for not responding in a timely fashion. The problem is likely the field "type" in ArcGIS a field can be designated a text field even if it contains numbers. You can look at the properties of the fields. The type can't be changed but you can create a new field with the correct type and then "calculate field" and tell the program to copy over the numbers from the old field. Then you will be able to see those fields as options in the symbology menu. Hope this answer is at least useful to someone in the future!
