There's something about the era of video games between 1985 and 2001 that makes it really special. It feels like, back then, games weren't just about graphics or processing power, but rather were more about building an experience that the player found fun. Those years felt like playing video games was exploring this new world of entertainment, and each innovation truly felt groundbreaking. I hope that today's era of gaming feels as magical to the current generation.
You're not wrong. Back in the PSX/PS2 era, consoles could generate decent looking graphics but the standard wasn't astronomically high. This meant that not only was more development energy put into the core game experience but also more experimental, lower budget games could stand toe to toe with the big AAA releases graphically. This is why there are so many highly unique games from this era (Katamari Damacy, Planet DOB, etc). Nowadays, the market is all about making games as graphically demanding as possible to advertise and increase sales of GPUs. This means that games both take longer and are much more expensive to produce at a standard that is impressive.
I don't think it is. Games back then were about fun, and sometimes that was simple, but that was OK. People look down on that today, but that's where it is at and what matters still. Yet all we got now is mostly walking simulators and movie games. It isn't about the most important thing of all: Good simple fun
i really dont think anyone is going to have any nostalgia or attraction to the hell of microtransactions and releasing unfinished games for full price just to lock the rest of the game behind paid DLC.
Games in this time period had abstraction. Everything wasn't presented literally, which meant more artistic and creative flourishes as well as more active interpretation on the part of the player. Games as a product also weren't "solved" yet which met more novel and weird ideas
the nostalgia never ends brother. You can indeed still find that girl in real life, for years I was crushing on Aya Brea (Parasite eve) and then I came across a girl that reminded me of her from head to toe and kicked it off so naturally as life should have been, it just took a while, and I kept the thought in mind, and it happened.
@@jamesgibson4624I'm so glad to see comments like this instead of nihilistic drivel like you see everywhere else. This is the true based shit right here. Awesome brother 👏
Was it composed by both Tetsukazu Nakanishi and Hiroshi Okubo, or only one of them on this? Other UA-cam videos credits Tetsukazu Nakanishi only on Silver Stream
Linear notes for this, the Ridge Racer 20th album booklet (which had credits for most titles in the series) and the Ridge Racers PSP OST all credit Hiroshi Okubo for Silver Stream. This album in particular has full composer credits for everything which the Remind remixes on this channel should have in the descriptions.
Do you know who uploaded it? Their name? I'll search on Tunecore tomorrow. I can get in contact with some of BNSI & SuperSweep members. It's not right for someone to profit on this especially because this is from an actual album under SuperSweep. Reminds me of this person "Dark Orka" who got a copyright on Vectorman and Vectorman 2 music, profiting off Jon Holland's masterpiece and SEGA did nothing about it.
Namco had one of the most amazing sound teams during this era.

It does sometimes, but I feel that way when I play older games more

As a child I was in love with the girl on the cover... This immpression brings back some old memories. This game was just awesome

Ah yeah, Reiko Nagase. Classic Namco waifu to tons of fans, a childhood crush of many
Silver Stream really sounds like something composed by Mouly & Lucida. Jungle really is an avant-garde genre of music.
Found this recently, and every time I listen to it a little bit of my lost love for life comes back to me. Love it!
To think this game is almost 30 now and has THESE banger ass beats. An incredibly ahead of it’s time OST but that was standard for RR games
This beat and song is so nostalgic. Never gets old
My freaking God I can't believe I'm just finding this now. So good!
This is a game that needs to be brought back ...
Glad to see that people still like the soundtracks from the old Ridge Racer games. This remix has a few timing issues but is still pretty damn cool
Whoa. The song turned out to be JUST the one that was playing in my head in advance 😀.
This type of music is so great
i feel like remixes should be more like this

Beautiful song Beautiful artwork
this sound is *supreme*
I’m glad I came across this
Niceeeee

Reiko is cute
she is perfect
i love her
Dammmmm I have it on 1.75 speed by accident and not going to lie it's pretty sick
I'm pretty sure you mean 1.25, because 1.75 is just a mess of sounds.

I may like this one over the original 😮

Dude, there is someone took this OST and he uploaded it on tunecore. What should we do???
Nothing, the company will handle it if he's monetizing from it. He's doing the same as the uploader here if Tunecore's a place to listen to music
@@Loyyid he also uploaded the ost in a different name. It would be a problem if the original composer found out.

@@Loyyid MOVGAMES doesn't have this video monetized. Tunecore is a place to sell your own music online.
