Brilliant overview! I actually never find the P&O drinks packages to be 'worth the money', but I do have pretty cheap taste when it comes to the bar - I'm happy just chilling with a glass of red, so find it would take me so much wine to get my money's worth on some of their packages! That said, it's MUCH cheaper than some of the American lines - we were over $100 a day for Royal Caribbean last year - ouch!
yeah, for light drinkers packages are rarely worth it and p&o bar prices are not too bad anyhow. RC is crazy, it is actually one of the reasons we cancelled the inaugural Icon sailing we had booked, the extras were crazy and even pay as you go isn't cheap on them.
Just little tip
We paid for the drinks classic drinks package before we boarded
but when we boarded we up gradated to the deluxe package.
word of warning they charge you for the full price of a deluxe package which in our case was £1200 up front there and then
and then repay you for the classic drinks package at a later date.
They did not tell us that at the time so a bit of a shock when our bill on day 1 was £1200
then we waited 30 days for our refund for the classic drinks package

Hi guys, brill video as usual. So I noticed you had jeans and trainers/pumps in the manahattan is this allowed? I’m still researching all the dress codes and it’s driving me insane I’m so worried about me or my husband wearing something that’s not allowed and being told to get changed. I thought he would have to wear black boots all week. Xx
I am also very concerend about this,,i booked this cruise out of an impulse as it was such a good offer...but now getting slightly panic looking and reading about the dress code
Yea this is - on casual nights it’s relaxed so we wear black jeans, a casual shirt (flowery or something patterned) and the Tom’s etc. on formal nights they ask you dress up but the dress code only applies to the main dining room, Sindhu, Eppicurean and the planet bar 😀 hope that helps? Ohhh it’s not that bad at all! Dark jeans and shirt, like we’d wear going out at home is fine. On gala night we wear a tux, but a jacket would be fine and if you don’t want to you can still use most bar like Malabar, pub, manhattan etc! Take a look back at our old P&O Iona videos and keep watching this series. Don’t stress it’s a holiday! 😀
Like you, we didn’t spend much time in Malabar. It did feel like it was in a through fare unless you were down the front.
We spent most of our time in the bars at The Glass House as that’s where the best beer was served.

I was on Harmony during her inaugural year, and had purchased a midrange drinks package. However between purchasing it and boarding they had discontinued it but never notified me so the drinks I was ordering kept being charged to my account. Four days I had to keep going to guest services to have the drinks that should have been free cancelled, in the end they upgraded me to full so I enjoyed the various cocktails available through the Robot Bar.

brilliant as ever, thanks guys! I am going end november but getting bit worried because of the dress code?! only been on MSC and RC, which was casual...as more as I read, the more I get concerned..eg no trainers etc...can you confirm this? or is it not as bad as I think?
P&O dress code is quite relaxed, we’d wear casual shirt, black jeans and slip ones (toms, boat shoe kinda trainers). Polo shirts etc Al fine too. It’s casual most nights. On gala nights people do dress us more, so a jacket for men, we go tux as we like that - you don’t have to take part and will still be able to eat in the buffet, glass house or beach house as the dress code only applies to the main dining room, Eppicurean, Sindhu and the planet back that night. Honestly, don’t worry and let it spoil your holiday. As we have more videos keep watching and you’ll see what we and others wear.

Have a fabulous time! Yes, you can just go there to enjoy a drink. The food does cost extra, the little plates are £2-4 each but you get 3 for around £8. Mains also reasonable on there.
You can’t book The Glass house, it’s a turn up or join the virtual queue type of venue, so go early, we turned up around 8/8:30 one evening and they couldn’t fit us in. Lunch/Afternoons you won’t have any issues

We’re going on a P&O cruise in August and have pre-booked the classic drinks package. The T&C’s state a maximum of 15 alcoholic drinks per day per package, ALL non-alcoholic drinks are unlimited. Only one drink may be ordered per package at any one time at a minimum of 15-minute intervals.
We have been talking to someone who has just been on a P&O cruise in April. They have said that when they ordered a gin & tonic they were told that this was 2 drinks!
Do you know if this is correct, what’s your experience with having the drinks package? Surely you’re not expected to order a gin, wait 15 minutes to go back for the tonic?! 😂
You are right, you’re not expected to order a gin and wait 15 minutes for the tonic, so not sure where they got that from? Gin & Tonic, Vodka and lemon etc are all one drink as it’s a mixer, usually 150-200ml.
I understand you can get a costa coffee card to collect points when you buy coffee. Can you tell us if this is true please? Not into much alcohol but a few lattes or iced coffees are my thing. A normal drinks package will not work for me.
The Costa coffee cards on land can’t be used in the ship. They used to have a coffee card, so buy 10 coffees at a reduced price and they’d stamp it, not sure if they stopped this when the package came out.
You’d probably need to look at the alcohol free package as this is soft drinks, bottles of water, selected Costa drinks and alcohol free cocktails. Small ‘coffee over Ice’ drinks, Latte and cappuccino are included in that one. Frappes and the Coolers are only on the deluxe (which is a bit mean to be honest!). If you have the non alcoholic you will get 20% off anything that’s not included if you do buy it. Hope that helps?
Hi guys, we love your videos and they are so useful. Tech question: my wife and I are going on Iona next month and I want to shoot some video. I have a 250GB iPhone. Do you shoot your videos on 4K or 1080p? Worried about storage, have about 180gb free. Cheers in advance.
Thanks you! We tend to use standard HD at 1080. 4k eats up space and ends up with larger files to export at the end. In most cases TV's etc will upscale it.

we were on there last week and we ordered a drink from costa from a waiter and wasn't given a free cake, do you need to go up to the counter to order and ask for one? do you get a free cake with every drink you order? will be handy to know as we are going again next year!
You will need to ask, it seems it’s bit of a secret! When we were on Aurora last week friends of ours didn’t realise until we told them. So with every drink you can have a pastry or cake from the counter BUT if you are on Iona or Arvia you have to pay for these items. They are only included on the older ships 👍
Are all the drinks on the classic package available in all the bars?
Yes, they can be used in all bars and restaurants - some bars have less or a different selection, so maybe a gin you have in the planet bar that’s included might not be stocked by another bar. They are always helpful and will help find you something if they know your on the package and will make it clear when you order if it’s not included, they are good like that
