I think its gimmick is to do with paint. Watch the ground in the scene where they shoot the dynamo. They paint over all the dynamo's paint without shooting the ground. I don't think splatlings normally do that much, do they?
A small thing shown that I don't see people talking about is that in addition to turning your hat backwards, it looks like you can also elongate your tops so they go down below your inkfish's waist. If you look carefully at all the shirts in that section of the trailer, you'll see the difference. One thing thats interesting is that it seems like they're adding new main weapons in the order those weapon types were introduced. First, we got a shooter, a charger, and a roller which were the basic weapon classes. Then we got a blaster and a brush, once considered varients of shooters and rollers. This time we got a slosher and splatling, the first main weapon classes added post launch to splatoon 1 so hopefully this means next update includes a new set of dualies and a new brella.

What intrigues me about a new ballpoint splatling kit is the fact that the vanilla ballpoint is the last weapon unlocked, at level 30, which means that the new ballpoint kit would either be unlocked at the same time as the vanilla (which would be weird), before the vanilla (which would be even weirder) or would change things up and be unlocked after level 30.
I thought the trailer was really fun and hype (sorry im a splatling main) so i was really confused to see everyone on twitter say the game has "no content". Honestly baffling to me considering just how many different types of content/gameplay Splat3 has to offer at a baseline, before even considering the constant FREE updates the game has been providing since launch. This aint the Splatoon community I know and love 😢
@@stupideditcentral5485 seasonal updates are perfectly paced for how I like to enjoy the game, but i can see why they would be too infrequent for people who play in different ways. The Heavy Edit Splatling is standing ON mid on ship. There are three flounder height style bridges, one close to each teams spawn, one in mid (where heavy stands)
Serious question. Did they fix online connectivity issues? It's so annoying when someone quits and it kicks the entire match. I want to like this game, but it's worse Splatoon 2 to me. I only did the first season and it was a slog with all the connection problems. If not I'll porob just wait until Splat4... I don't have these problems in other Switch games.
ok something i would like to point out, the spot where the edit splatling kills gold dynamo and the goo tuber is NOT mid. you can tell because the sides are asymetrical
i dont see why heavy edit would compete with mini, it has about naut range so if anything its competing around there. it also doesnt strafe as fast, doesnt look like it has same paint output or the charge efficiency of mini (mini can fire for over 2.5 frames for every frame it charges) it doesnt seem very frontliny at all
Heavy edit seems to have the gimmick of perfect shots like the the second mode of the ballpoint but also the no jump rng of the nautilus, with maybe regular splatting range
10:58 the Slosh itself doesn't move the player with the dread wringer is just moving when they slosh (similar to how you can curve the slosh if you spend while firing with the normal slosher)
"you don't really have a great kit right now" ...vanilla mini isn't good? i don't know how to use burst bomb well, but stamp is most of the reason i picked up mini!
My prediction is that next update we’re gonna get new dailies and a new brella (hopefully they’ll be fixed by then) and then the one after that is a new tri-stringer and splatana. Pretty sure those are the only classes to not get a new main weapon yet
i honestly didn’t see what was different in the swim it to win it clip the first time i watched the trailer on my own because im so used to running a lot of run and swim speed up and it just looked normal to me 😭
i think that crableg will be cool if all those wood columns and walls are paintable, some of those could be squid surge spots (i am hoping so hard please)
honestly markers paint feet which is about the most useful thing sprinkler does, and at least has damage combos even if they're unreliable, i honestly think sprinkler is more of a death sentence than marker right now. A weapon that isn't sub dependent like a splatling can make it work, and a weapon that REALLY can't paint its feet like dynamo can get some use out of it, but beyond that it's just not a good option
Way too little amount of weapon kits, for the weapons who still haven't gotten a kit now had to wait over a year and still nothing, like look at undercover it has literally the worst weapon kit in the game by a landslide it's not a competition meanwhile nearly every shooter has a second weapon kit and now we get 8 weapon kits along with 2, the amount of content keeps getting less and less and somehow its more outrageous then the last
Maps look neat, they look a bit better than previous designs but are still extremely disappointing when you take trailer maps into account, of what we could've had. Of what we have now... some maps are just straight up not fun to play on. Like not "augh I hate this map" unfun, more "eh this is pretty boring and burning me out quickly" unfun. Challenges are such a flop... well eh, can't speak for everyone, but they're not pulling me in. They're not something I'll ever make time for especially since the scheduling is insane half the time, they'd be much better as an alternative gamemode that you can get stamps/tickets for winning. 8 kits... down from 11... down from 12... down from 13... calling 4 kits next update, a single new weapon and 3 returning kits. hoping these kits are at least crazy and inspire different gameplay styles and opportunities. 44 kits/weapons in a year vs 56 in the same time frame for Splatoon 2... and 2 had them drop weekly, hell sometimes less, we're getting less weapons, with questionable kits, with a 3 month wait in between, and tip toe balancing that doesn't do much to shake stuff up... augh. Smokeyard I didn't care for much in 2 but honestly could be wicked especially with egg throwing. At the very, very least I'm proud to call this game Salmon Run 2, but only somewhat.
It's kinda funny to think about how Nintendo probably thinks that making more and more all-new maps is doing good for the game and convincing the players that they're really dedicated to giving it their all, when meanwhile... not gonna lie i'm starting to wish we were getting some of the old maps back lmao
I hate to be the negative nancy, but I've lost all hope for the Splatoon 3 maps, even removing the competitive viability, the maps themselves are all so...uninspired, and kinda boring (the new ones obviously, the ones that return from S1 & S2 are still good), they all look extremely same-y to me, and have nothing special to them like rails or anything unique from the story mode, such a huge wasted potential Everything else looks good, but man, really makes you wonder if they had drastic changes on the map design team, they're just so... *meh.* Sorry for being a downer but yeah.
@@jazzuccivod Nah I don't expect them to, but I'm just saying, it feels like with every 2 right steps they take each game/update, they take 1 and a half step backwards, it's just agonizing

New maps look awful. Not going to supercoat it, they just look unbelievably difficult to move through, narrow and linear. Chara noted how literally the only way into the enemy third of the map on Crableg is across a single grate bridge with no cover. Love how they took great pains to make sure that Zipcaster has absolutely nothing around to hit to challenge the high ground that will lock out the map--they've been on a real tear of making it as useless as possible on every new map. At least they're not completely flat like the last two, so it's not quite as bad as Umami and B&D. Still no new Stamper or Reef-lux kit a full year later. The one year anniversary update is the least interesting so far, full stop. Absolutely no surprises or unique features other than the pointless clothes tweaking thing. Still no new ranked mode since Splatoon 2, which is an absolute embarrassment for a "sequel". Probably just dropping the game entirely at this point tbh. Already barely play it because the map rotations are constantly all poisoned by awful map/mode combinations. Have not been able to play a single challenge in the last two months because the hours are a complete joke.
@@theghostcreator776 Yep! That's the plan! I enjoyed the game for a while, but it's stale since nothing good's been added, so I'm dropping it outside of occasionally hopping on for Salmon Run. I will complain though, since it's entirely the dev team's fault for that and they deserve harsh criticism for doing a terrible job keeping the game relevant. I'm glad you like waiting 3 months hoping for new content, and then seeing that content is two weapons that don't look like they play particularly differently from another in the same class, a tiny number of kits for irrelevant main weapons, two maps that will make the rotations even worse on average, and nothing else.

Honestly baffling to me considering just how many different types of content/gameplay Splat3 has to offer at a baseline, before even considering the constant FREE updates the game has been providing since launch. This aint the Splatoon community I know and love 😢
Seasonal updates are trash.
I’ve heard people say that splatoon 2 had *weekly updates* , which makes me sad tbh.
@@stupideditcentral5485 seasonal updates are perfectly paced for how I like to enjoy the game, but i can see why they would be too infrequent for people who play in different ways. They always feel like they come at a time where im getting a little bored and playing other stuff, but then a new season starts and i get re-energized to play again, and try out all the new kits, and stages, and weapon types 😊
The Heavy Edit Splatling is standing ON mid on ship. There are three flounder height style bridges, one close to each teams spawn, one in mid (where heavy stands)
The sloshing machine card looks adorable. That is all I have to say lol
If anyone wants to know the names of the kits, the uk version has it.
*SEAGULL*
What if the edit’s gimmick is that it’s own shots block enemy fire going through it
ok something i would like to point out, the spot where the edit splatling kills gold dynamo and the goo tuber is NOT mid.
you can tell because the sides are asymetrical
Can't wait for a consecutive 9 kits next season wooooo so excited! :D
i dont see why heavy edit would compete with mini, it has about naut range so if anything its competing around there. it also doesnt strafe as fast, doesnt look like it has same paint output or the charge efficiency of mini (mini can fire for over 2.5 frames for every frame it charges) it doesnt seem very frontliny at all
Heavy edit seems to have the gimmick of perfect shots like the the second mode of the ballpoint but also the no jump rng of the nautilus, with maybe regular splatting range
10:58 the Slosh itself doesn't move the player with the dread wringer is just moving when they slosh (similar to how you can curve the slosh if you spend while firing with the normal slosher)
I have the hype solely because the trailer dropped ONY MY BIRTHDAY (17th of August). so I'm gonna have some extreme bias towards this.
Finally
Custom Goo
I can have my main back
"you don't really have a great kit right now"
...vanilla mini isn't good? i don't know how to use burst bomb well, but stamp is most of the reason i picked up mini!
okay, the new goo tuber is blue, why isn't anyone calling it the bluetuber
First stage is mincemaeat and scorch gorge had a baby 😊
My prediction is that next update we’re gonna get new dailies and a new brella (hopefully they’ll be fixed by then) and then the one after that is a new tri-stringer and splatana. Pretty sure those are the only classes to not get a new main weapon yet
i nthe trailer you can also adjust shirt sizes which is nice
You have a wonderful face for radio.
cool trailer but man I need my Enperries
All I ask is that the cranes in Crableg be climbable. It would be like this game's version of Highrise (CoD MW2).
In the stream we thought dynamo might either have splat bomb or suction bomb, since it has a 65 70 ink tank
i would be fine with either, but it REALLY needs splat bomb because while suction is strong, it's much slower
Bro the bucket user was moving his camera to the left when firing
0:24 I need to start doing this because I keep getting let down when I expect more than what we get.
if splatbrella does have inkjet that is kinda interesting if it can just use the brella to cover it's special use
i honestly didn’t see what was different in the swim it to win it clip the first time i watched the trailer on my own because im so used to running a lot of run and swim speed up and it just looked normal to me 😭
The only shakeup with this update is that there's 2 new maps instead of one new one, and one old one sadly
I love shplatoong three
i think that crableg will be cool if all those wood columns and walls are paintable, some of those could be squid surge spots (i am hoping so hard please)
The wood walls holding up the bridge are paintable. You can see it in dread wringer footage. That's good but idk that it saves the map feature
I know the gimmick for the dread wringer, but not the heavy edit splatling. Any ideas for it's gimmick?
What if its a perfect middle ground between the heavy splatling and the hydra splatling?
My theory is its a good paint splatling since it seemed to kill in five shots instead of four, which also makes sense since it has tacticooler
I think it may have perfect accuracy as well.
@@elbom_yea it looks to have bp's long range accuracy
I watched Splat Droid’s stream and we skipped over ballpoint
It’s not bad, just a horrible anniversary season. Going back to The Square after I test these weapons, hopefully more people come back…
Crableg looks like it's literally just 150cc Mirror Mode Mincemeat
All I wanted was for Blob to have a real bomb. But hey say what you will about sprinkler. Unlike Marker, at least it paints.
honestly markers paint feet which is about the most useful thing sprinkler does, and at least has damage combos even if they're unreliable, i honestly think sprinkler is more of a death sentence than marker right now. A weapon that isn't sub dependent like a splatling can make it work, and a weapon that REALLY can't paint its feet like dynamo can get some use out of it, but beyond that it's just not a good option
Dart does 40 damage. 2 blobs kills now.
Way too little amount of weapon kits, for the weapons who still haven't gotten a kit now had to wait over a year and still nothing, like look at undercover it has literally the worst weapon kit in the game by a landslide it's not a competition meanwhile nearly every shooter has a second weapon kit and now we get 8 weapon kits along with 2, the amount of content keeps getting less and less and somehow its more outrageous then the last
I just want new hairstyles. give them in the catalogue or something
I can understand not seeking the new weapon kits too much, but you missed the very obvious heavy edit kit
Hello
Hii:3
Hoi, goedenmiddag
Hi friends! 💙
Blaster and range blaster mains still waiting for a new kit
All people who use Blasters in general should shut the fuck up because Blasters are broken
Me that has to go to school 😭
30 minutes analysis of a 1 minute clip
jesus christ :D
BIG SHIRT
All my excitement has been ruined finding out what the tri stringer kit is gonna be
bow kit isnt terrible but i wish it was torp rain instead.
Autobomb or burst bomb would be a much better option
It's kinda funny to think about how Nintendo probably thinks that making more and more all-new maps is doing good for the game and convincing the players that they're really dedicated to giving it their all, when meanwhile... not gonna lie i'm starting to wish we were getting some of the old maps back lmao
I hate to be the negative nancy, but I've lost all hope for the Splatoon 3 maps, even removing the competitive viability, the maps themselves are all so...uninspired, and kinda boring (the new ones obviously, the ones that return from S1 & S2 are still good), they all look extremely same-y to me, and have nothing special to them like rails or anything unique from the story mode, such a huge wasted potential
Everything else looks good, but man, really makes you wonder if they had drastic changes on the map design team, they're just so... *meh.*
Sorry for being a downer but yeah.
@@jazzuccivod Nah I don't expect them to, but I'm just saying, it feels like with every 2 right steps they take each game/update, they take 1 and a half step backwards, it's just agonizing
@@jazzuccivod Yeah, I have to agree. I was insanely hyped for the challenges when they were revealed, it would've been such a easy way to keep players coming back at least once a week for a new challenge.
But nope, it's instead an incredibly time strict mode, only avaliable on ONE specific day only on CERTAIN 2 hours intervals; as someone who can't afford to always play and keep up with Splatoon stuff, I just gave up trying to follow them at all. (It's extra funny considering splafest at least last 2~3 days, they could've done just that, but no, they reverted back and basically treating the challenges like how they treated SR in S2, bruh.)
The update is good if you ignore the maps, the smaller number of kits, the worst map in salmon run, the- anyways im still gonna have fun though lol
No new shooters? I'm shocked.
@@QwertyS3 I'm so happy my beloved octobrush got a kit
Nooooo
i think that the gold dynamo has inkjet, since it was shown in the inkjet section! i hope it does
Brella is the inkjet weapon, you can see the first inkjet shown in the inkjet challenge has identical gear to the sorella brella card. They wouldn't give inkjet to 2 weapons in the same update
@@_CaptainCookie why not? they might, who knows. it's the anniversary update and there's not that many inkjet weapons
@@amaianita other specials have that more applicable, like crab tank. Also in the footage earlier for dread wringer it you see dynamo has chump.
@@_CaptainCookie god dude, just let me have fun with this. kindly go and write your logical stuff in a separate comment. that's my thought based on the trailer, and i think it would be nice of it had inkjet! if it doesn't in the end - i don't care, if it does - awesome. i understand that you have a grand knowledge and want to share it with me specifically for some reason, but please stop. you're just being an annoying prick.
Splatoon 2 was so much better game has been such a disappointment sofar this update will be fun for a week then it's back to same old boring game that gives little to no reason to play
it still is, in terms of turf war (despite no longer being updated)
I would have bought splatoon 2 if I knew 3 was this bad.
If you're going to keep being negative about the game then drop it go ahead. If you don't enjoy the game don't play it and don't complain about it.
@@celestialspark5697 the devs have no profit incentive to keep updating the game, you're being entitled. Having a consistent player base isn't bringing Nintendo any profits so anything added is out of nothing but a want to keep those who bought the game invested. Silently mald and seethe all you want but yelling about a game you're not interested in anymore is just being negative for no reason.
@@theghostcreator776 Not worth arguing with someone who will make statements as dumb as that last message.
Wow Splatoon fans hate everything
We've been burned multiple times, you'd be mad too.
@@ShadowSkyXno we havent lmao we've only been winning for 8 years
@@internetguy7319🤣🤣 nice joke 👍
@@internetguy7319were we “winning for 8 years” when we waited a year for a new stringer only to get sprinkler on it
They think they're entitled to constant amazing game changing updates even when Nintendo has no profit incentive to do so.
So:
-More tetrimino stages.
-More uninkable walls.
-Busted ahh slosher.
-Gold dynamo fans will finally quiet up.
-Hydra and ballpoint with none of the benefits. (And also a horrible kit (Curling + Tacti)
-Uhhhh.
Yep this game is dead lmao
Also the Heavy Edit looks like a Minuteman ICBM without the nose cone, with the MIRVs exposed. I like that at least.
Curling and cooler is a great kit for what the weapon looks like. It has a fast charge so curling could help it get in, and assuming it's paint is good it could challenge pencil for long range cooler pick (not difficult because pencil is not super good)
Splatoon 3 can do a lot better than this this is kinda pathetic
