  • Hang onto your hats as Paul and Dave sit front-row center on an airboat tour at "Captain Mitch's Airboat Tours" near Everglades National Park, Florida. Being the first run of the day affords us a unique view in this land of fresh water grasses. Get up-close and personal with an alligator as we explore their secret hideaways. Listen while Dale explains the differences between male and female gators. Watch as Paul almost loses his hat in a "one in a million" shot and see Dave part his hair as he has never done before. Marvel at the spectacular water fowl and migrating birds as they take flight ahead of the airboat.

It boggles the mind why so many folks click on the spam-infested idiot-laden featured vids when with a little searching they'll stumble upon a gem like this. Outstanding video!

I'll try to tell you but it's been over 35 years since I've been in the Glades. A fellow named Jesse Howard and friends had a fish camp out there. A canal was dredged right in front of it. I think it was called the Miami Canal. I remember riding down a trail behind the camp towards Alligator Alley and Lost Lake was on the right. Can't remember how far...Wish I could be of more help. Perhaps if you talked to some Seminoles in the area, they could help you.

There's a place out there somewhere called Lost Lake. Indian legend says a meteor fell many years ago. When you go out in the middle in a metal bottomed airboat, it will sink 2 or 3 inches. Back in the 60's, it was told no one had found the bottom. It's not too far from Alligator Alley.

Rune, checkout captainmitch.com We had a blast and I know you will also. Try for the first run of the day since early birds always get the worm! Thanks for watching and commenting. BTW, Dale was our guide! I think he had as much fun as we did! Back then he only work winters in Florida. This video was shot in January 2005. Have Fun! Dave.
