- How To Groom A British Longhair Cat
Teddy's coat is typical of this breed, it is enormous! Because of it being so dense, it makes it difficult to stay on top his coat particularly when he not a fan of being groomed at home. Unfortunately for Teddy, if he is not groomed daily, his coat matts very quickly. So it is very important that his Mum and Dad can consistently groom him on a day to day basis.
As a cat groomer for a number of years, I have witnessed many cats who hate being groomed in the beginning to actually enjoying the whole process. This does not come to them easily, but as long as you are persistent and do not give up easily with the grooming regime, you can win them around.
Just don't give up thinking you aren't getting anywhere.
Our longhaired cats do take a lot of looking after, but if you make it a habit every day for just a few minutes, then it will save your cat from getting matted.

Your a fabulous groomer, so calm even when the kitties are a bit grumpy!
Thank you, it all comes down to years of experience and handling. The thing is, those grumpy one's usually return a few months later and they are so much better behaved because they remember their previous visit. Plus we ask all fur Mums and Dads to work on their fur babies in between visits as much as possible. All the handling really helps turn a grumpy, reluctant kitty who runs away from the brush to actually come towards the brush asking to be groomed. It's so lovely to hear from my clients when they get that turn around moment!
Teddy is so cute! I loved his facial expressions when you were describing where you'd brushed him.
Us too! He is a super cutie boots, but that coat needed a lot of work!

Thank you, yes a few of our followers say the same, that the channel should have thousands of subs. Never mind, it will happen one day. A few of the videos have been watched thousands of times, but obviously it is something to do with the You Tube algorithms that prevents the videos from being recommended or shown in front of more people. So, for now, I have to rely on you guys to give it the thumbs up, share it with others and keep commenting.

How do you remove the belly curls of an LH cat without using a clipper ?
How often do you recommend to comb such long hair so that it is maintained in a good condition? As I understood Teddy's hair wasn't comb for some long period of time? Maybe I missed this in video.
You are using a Wahl Professional DOG Clipper clipper. Why is that?
Thank God my Siberian doesn't have problems like this. Mine is an indoor cat. Outdoor cats here get eaten by Moutain Lions.
