Karen has had an amazing comedy career that includes being head writer for The Rosie Show, The Ellen Degeneres Show and the Pete Holmes show, but today she tells us about growing up in Petaluma, California. What did the neighborhood kids do since they only got 120 minutes of screen time? It turns out, a lot of wild stuff. Karen tells us about her wild cousins Lisa and Stevie, about setting a bed on fire and the benefits of BISQUICK. She also discusses the difficulties of losing her mother to Alzheimer's and why she decided to stop drinking.

There’s something about the way that Karen can talk about seemingly mundane stories and make them outrageously funny as well as very emotionally intuitive that’s very inspirational.
Sickler’s laugh and intermittent commentary makes this a wonderful video. Definitely going to watch more!
I absolutely could listen to Karen talk and tell stories for hours and hours. Emotional one minute, laugh out loud funny the next. Love this woman so much. SSDGM

Here's the deal man, I've been watching Tom and Christina since before YMH was even a thing. I'm not unsubscribing from my favorite comedians, I literally wrote "kind of" in my comment in regards to this offshoot with Ryan Sickler who I actually kind of like. I subbed for one channel featuring two of my favorite comedians, now my feed is flooded with a whole lot more than I signed up for. I just skip them and move on since there's no way to filter only YMH episodes.
Sickler! I look forward to these podcasts man. Everything about it, but mainly that intoxicating laugh. I cannot help but laugh with you. You'd be the guy i'd want to give me terrible news and then laugh about it to make it feel just a little bit better.

I want to hear Karen talk forever
It's pretty amazing, I've had the same "staring up and to the left against my will" thing since I was 10 every few years. The doctors kept telling us it was iron deficiency. I had full blown attacks twice, the second in the company of doctor friends who told me it was a seizure. Never heard anyone else describe this feeling. Such a bad feeling when you're driving etc. Best thing I found is to immediately find a place to be safe, close your eyes, and just calm down.
I like this lady.

I saw this comment as I watch this episode for the 10th time. I just looked up the podcast and it's called "until I lose interest" where the entire episode it about Little house on the prairie.
