Loved this one too brotha, its cool seeing it progress. There's alot of my childhood here too so it's kinda a walk down memory lane. Bullet, Slipknot, think I heard Spineshank even lol. Ironically I know alot of Christian music without being religious too. But alot of thats wrestling, the same vagueness that makes it fit anime fights made those songs universal in 2000s wrestling videos, video games, etc. Also used to just see alot of those bands at big shows. Skillet became a running gag with my friends cause we kept accidentally seeing them at other shows and it was always great regardless. Violin dude goes so hard on stage.
BRO! before I statrted getting into rap/trap/hip-hop amv's my favorite amv song was called Courtesy Call by: Thousand Foot Krutch and I had no idea that they're a chrsitain rock band. I remember getting made fun of because I had that song saved in my SoundCloud because I would used to envision anime battles while listening to amv songs lol. Amv's were really my childhood years and I rememberer my amv channel with countless hours of editing trying to get as good as my inspirors. Great video brodie!
Thanks yo :) Also, this is a bit of a gamble here, but I was also a big fan of a certain Once Piece AMV (used clips from the Fish Men arc I think?). It's not up on UA-cam any more, but would that happen to be the AMV you were referring to?
I was today years old when I found out that Thousand Foot Krutch & Icon for Hire are Christian rock bands so thanks for that knowledge XD (completely agree with your analysis btw). My personal favorite AMV so far is a naruto one synced to "Behind Closed Doors" by Rise Against uploaded by the sword art online d*ckriding association (no relation)
I mean it’s insane how those bands and AMV’s helped each other blow up simultaneously, so many people watched the AMV’s for their music and so many people discovered those bands because of the AMV’s
man i know your busy but i really enjoyed the gkmc and the tabbo video, so i was wondering if you were planing on doing another hiphop album explanation maybe a kanye album or tpab or even some oldscholl whatever you do im sure ill enjoy it
Without spoiling too much: yes, I do indeed plan to do so. I plan on finishing this project first though, so it might be a bit of a wait, a wait which I plan on making well worth it ;)
Hey bro! I wanted to request an essay on TPAB. I loved your GKMC video and I would love to see more of your taste on music and more. Your loyal subscriber, luke
TPAB is such a tough one for me. It's been requested so soooo much, and I live for making my subs happy :) That said, there are so many other video essays on UA-cam on the album, to the point where I'm frankly not 100% sure what I'd be able to add to the discourse for that album specifically. Other hiphop albums though... I guess we'll have to wait and see :)
Real talk tho Muse used to be a favorite of mine and Panic Station is one of the remnants of that, still love that one. I'm also glad someone finally acknowledged how sick some AMVs can be as someone who first heard In The End by Linkin Park through a DBZ one despite never having seen DBZ. Eager to talk more about em!
