Very awesome! Is there a benefit here to screwing the rib on as opposed to soldering it on? I'm new to gunsmithing so please of this is a silly question I apologize haha.
Mostly it comes down to personal preference. With screws you can remove it to do barrel work, polishing and bluing. With solder it's more of a permanent attachment.
You can heat blue when you use screws, Or use a higher temp solder. Most of these were soft soldered on in the past though. I would go for soft solder and rust blue, it just looks nicer.
@@CandidZulu Yes I would also use solder if I were to mount this. I never like the idea of putting screws directly into the barrel. But being able to take this off is a plus to using screws. So I guess there's no real answer just the preferences of the gunsmith haha. Thanks for answering!
