Sour, spicy and enriched with the creamy goodness of yoghurt, this easy recipe, though traditionally made with ash gourd is versatile enough to be made with a host of vegetables. Catch Sreedevi as she makes her favourite version with ladies finger before we sit down to a humble yet soul satisfying meal at our home. Enjoy. Its thick and dense..wonderful. It also goes well with chapathi. Shree is soft-spoken, humble as her vegetarian dishes. She should start her own traditional recipes channel.

Even after they lift the lock down, please share such traditional recipes. Though I am a Malayali, I just love trying out dishes from different cultures 😊
Haven't even watched the episode yet and can tell it must be exciting stuff. Ladies Finger, Greens(Amaranthus), Ash Gourd, Snake Gourd majge huli are common in a Brahmin house hold in karnataka. Deshasta brahmins even call this 'Majge Paldya'. This is an excellent accompaniment with Ragi Mudde for vegetarians. Like a fish curry, longer this ages, it tastes better. Prepare in the morning and have it at night to enjoy its best version. Post watching: great and no comments on the recipe. A small variation is to use fresh coriander leaves while grinding the paste. Any yogurt based preparation is best done using ghee tadka over oil, be it raitha, tambli or majge huli, use ghee and you will know the difference.
The 'Majjgey Hulii' is so legendary in a KannBrahm family that it finds its placement in many an old time Kannada movies of the 70s and 80s in comedy sequences where characters in the movies are seen exchanging stories about their own tryst with this legendary curry in their unique narrations.
It’s not only KANBRAHM Even many other communities of Kannada origin will do Some Kanbrahm of other areas don’t have a practice Casteism everywhere She is misinformed like you
@@puneeth-694 I will ask you for your 'informed' opinion if I ever need one. For now I don't so, take your unsolicited, unwanted and misinformed comment back if you can. This is not the platform for your favourite hobby of Brahmin bashing. This is a forum for food lovers and not for bigotry.
Abhijit Kashyap I will bash when it’s needed To the ppl who use the food platform to show their sick mindset In reality majjige huli is not related to any community What is the idea behind it?
@@puneeth-694 The only one with the sick mindset here is you. You are picking on people and making it a matter of personal harassment for some cheap fun that you seem to be getting out of it. Abhijit Kashyap there is nothing hate in my comment unparliamentary !!! Wow. It looks yummy. We call it as Mor Kuzhambu in Tamilnadu. We used to make this kuzhambu for all the festivals and marriages too. Especially Mor Kuzhambu made with vendaikkai is more special and easy to make. Thank you shri ma'am. Thank you both for your efforts. Waiting for the next recipe.

THANKS FOR OUR VERY OWN 'MAJJIGE HULI, SABBAKKI SANDIGE & MANGALORU MENASINA HAPPALA'. IN YOUR LAST COUPLE OF EPISODES, I HAVE SEEN, KARNATAKA HAS BECOME SANDWICH BETWEEN TAMIL NADU & ANDHRA PRADESH AND WAS VERY MUCH WORRIED ABOUT THE STATUS OF OUR OWN STATE, LANGUAGE, CULTURE & LIFESTYLE IN BENGALURU. THANKS FOR GIVING FREEDOM.
In future GOTR episodes, I would like to see Sreedevi also as I feel she can bring a totally different viewpoint to the dish you test to help people to go and enjoy as a family.
Nice presentation👍I've never tasted this before n I'm going to make this for sure..That sago rice crackers reminded me of my childhood days of DANDELI(KARNATAKA)😍..I'm a Keralite living in Saudi at present.
