  • In this second episode I go over the PM1K module and discuss the modifications that I have planned for it. Obviously I am going to be racking it up and installing a dedicated power supply, but the mods will go a little further than most of these conversions.

    I have the opportunity to pick one of these pm1000s locally , its been fully recapped aswell as the psu! Looking forward to checking it out, hopefully the eq mods have been done if not ill probably do them myself!

      Sweet! Good luck. If you need a partslist for the recap/mod kit let me know. I don't sell the kits right now, but you can source the parts yourself. I'll be doing a PM-1K based publication... eventually, so keep an eye out for that!

    I’m about to start a rack mod for my pm1000. Can you recommend a power supply for it?

      There used to be a kit available on eBay. It has the ~44 volts dc that the audio circuit wants as well as 48 volts the phantom power circuit wants. Five Fish Audio used to sell a kit as well. I currently can’t seem to find where to buy either of them. You could also adapt just about any regulated power supply that would get you close to that 44 volts it prefers.
