Another game I was interested in but is now a hard pass because of the strong possibility of P2W. And even if it's not full P2W, there is too much focus on pay for convenience and other cash shop type of nonsense. I guess there are players who can overlook this stuff.... but not me. This game is a hard pass. Such a shame because the art style looks great.
@@henrythegreatamerican8136 Meh. I'll still play it. But like you said, it will probably get overwhelming and cause a lot of people to leave. I won't pass it off without at least playing the game, though.
This was a really high quality video! It's a shame it's for a P2W cash shop MMO following the eastern style that is going to be completely DOA for lack of players.
You didnt cover the most worrying thing in my opinion which is the item durability during upgrading. It was said you can recover the item durability only via crystals/mcash and that item durability prevents it from destroying after failed upgrade. Plus im worried they will add extra % success upgrading rate to the item shop as well. Too many red flags for this game to not be p2w which is frustrating…
Thanks for the video!! This content has changed my life and can’t wait to check it out live. Can’t wait to meet you on the battlefield! (Remove this part for payment)
Love how their founder packs have a "discount" on them but the packs are only available for a few days. Simple p2w tactic which they'll keep on using after official release. I was genuinly interested in Mad World but man this sucks.
Good info, can't wait! From a person with VERY little MMO experience, I feel like the systems they have in place is a decent balance between monetization of their game and remaining free to play. It's hard to truly be both, but only time will tell.
If it wasn't a PvP game buying the best gear in the Black market with real money (crystals that you buy with real money) would not be an issue. This is very bad for a PvP game. Who wants to be killed by these whales you heve no chance against because they are augmenting their gear with real money.
Founders Pack are just a way for small developers to gather some money. As you mentioned “long term “ it is not a problem, short term it will hurt the feelings of Glass generation. Nice vid dud thanks for your content.
This game is a fusion between Lost Ark and Undecember, is not a real p2w BUT is a real paytofast and paytobuy/sell. To play without spending and as a pastime.
crystals can be earned doing weeklys easily like 100-150 a week and almost nothing coast more than 100 crystals mostly the cash items are bag room and cosmetics def not pay to win more like easyer to play and more gear to play around with
I was really looking forward to this game simply because of the "grimdark" visuals and style. I love the way the gameplay looks. I am very on the fence though after Lost Ark. I was hyped for that game for years and crushed when it was revealed to be a pay to win/pay for convenience dumpster fire. I understand you release game for free means you have recoup money from cash shop, and I am okay with that. But jesus christ they are gonna sell inventory slots that aren't even permanent?! I can see pas a lot of the other things that were mentioned but that seems a bit too predatory too me. Shame I was actually going to buy a founders pack, but now I'll have to wait and see. Great video though, and you earned a sub!
I really wonder why people still cry over Lost Ark being too much pay2win. I was able to compete till i stopped in august 2022 with 6 characters clown or brel ready (1475-1500) long before clown was even released as almost f2p (only bought ark pass, skins to wear or char slots to try out other classes). I stopped playing, but never felt a real pay2win. The game had two other issues: 1. The only endgame is raids which results in FOMO and people only picking often the "best geared" players (this issue does not exist if you have a static raid group) 2. The market was inflated as hell due to too much gold around by bots (this was the real issue and not the cash shop gold actually because it results in more gold buyers from external instead of cashshop = higher prices for crystals and also more gold around for market flipping. But: I stopped in august and tried it out a week ago. I again enjoy the 1460-1500 content (valtan, vykas, clown), you can hone to 1445 for zero gold costs, a free character to 1445 incl. free 4x3 + level 5 gems (and enough mats/gold for 1460) and I just do not care about endgame anymore. I bought a brel bus for my main which costs almost nothing just to dive into 1500+ chaos dungeons and guardians later (so my main over time gets 1520 and i spend not even one minute active doing something). Just do the stuff I like e.g. vykas, valtan, clown and use the gold for brel bus. staying at 1520 and may do some free honing to 1540 over time. if you do not feel any fomo you really can enjoy the game a bit. That's the way I should have played the game back then and will play the game a bit now. I mean there is really zero benefit on trying brel or brel hardmode at all. It's just bigger numbers but does not mean its more fun. I would rather play 10+ different characters only doing valtan these days than doing brel with anyone of them. The biggest issue is actually the FOMO you got from this game and every korean player telling you what to do and how to play the game most efficient... instead of just "enjoy" whats fun in the game. But to get to a point: The big question is how does any "pay2win" effect you in madworld. It is pretty irrelevant fo me if you can get the best gear from any market as long as you can find it by yourself over time. Why should i pay money for progression while all the game is about is progression. Is like buying a full geared BIS poe account... congrats: you have mastered the game. There are other games like Black desert that (as of today) are still kinda pay2win but no one cares because there is no need to be actually "the best geared one". In Lost Ark I only competed with mates I played with that have been F2P so I just didnt care about whales. So lets wait how mad world may develops over time before acting too early.
Yes! I was thinking the same thing, that would be great for everyone. The rate of gold gain actually seems pretty good so I would expect that to have a good bit of success.
saw an add clicked it, trailer made me want to play, watched video now I don't want to, pay to win is the worst thing in games. Games supposed to be competetive and a place where a person can relax from reality where everyone is equal. ''Free to play'' games with ingame shop basicaly want non rich people to be like monkeys for whales. Refuse to play such games all gamers and eventualy they will be forced to make their games like it should be equal for everyone with monthly sub.
I think early access in the long term shouldn't be a huge issue. In the short term though it will lead to founders pack players having a fairly sizeable advantage. However, in a month it won't mean nearly as much.
Diablo 3 Auction house vibes. Definitely will be a toxic shit that will slowly kill the game. Design-wise, it absolutely does not matter if the item can be traded 5 or 1 time only. It will still matter and will still cause multiple issues. Limiting the amount of times an item can be traded, actually increases its value overall, so it will get worse than Diablo 3.

8:30 unexceptional he saying there are greifers in game get used to it.
First red flag was the 5 day early access and the weird ass giveaways. Excitement plummeted

I would like to see a gold to crystal conversion, similar to Lost ark.

Thanks for the video, didn t know that i was pvp oriented so i bypass the game.
so pay to win
An 11 minute video te answer a simple question... This is what is wrong with mmo community
I dunno... A mmorpg with early access behind a pay wall sounds very p2w to me

You're telling me if I want more inventory slots, I not only have to pay real money, but I'd only be RENTING them? Hard pass on this game.
WOW A KR BROWSER MMORPG IS P2W ? 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
